Yesterday, as I was reading them, that long entire section of intellectual discussion was highlighted all in black, but the letters were vague enough I could see something was there. Stalin killed 40-60 million people compared to 21 million people by Hitler (according to most historians). The only way to believe this is to either a) have the belief that different standards apply to Hitler than to Stalin and/or b) the lives that Hitler took are worth more.

Beyond some amount of dead bodies it doesn't matter anymore -- you are culpable for murder. Both Hitler and Stalin were reprehensible and had Hitler succeeded how do you know that the bodycount of Allied soldiers, Jews and Russians would not have equalled or exceeded Stalin's body count.

Sorry but I think this is silly and there is some maxima. I don't think it is meaningful to argue that the person that killed 2x people is twice as "bad" as the person that killed x people (over ALL values of x). At some point the function must become asymptotic -- it must flatten out and "badness" does not increase.

The Ethiopian Jews are the only major divergence from this and there are only about 1500 of them and they complain that they are discriminated against. I would describe Australia as a genuinely diverse nation-state: there are representatives of every race and ethnicity here. I don't think Israels diversity can be compared to Australia's, the USAs or Canada's.
