If i remember the story correctedly, Jim got in a huge fight with Pam and missed his plane, then Jim went to the bar and missed the second plane. By the time they got there, the atmosphere was tence. Their manger removed all the chairs so he could sell more tickets. Some time during the performance some douchebag threw a can of paint upstage. I believe this was shortly before the "your all a bunch of fucking idiots" comment..

I wonder how many people realize that Light My Fire, possibly their biggest hit which helped propel them to stardom, was written (music and lyrics) by Robby Krieger.

i saw a documentary/musical about the doors, and ray manzarek said:
"What do you want to be remembered by, and jim said My Words, man, just my words."
I don't think jim ever said anything he didn't meant, sober or not. Everyone should remember him for this words and his message, not his life style, whether that shit oliver stone did (true OR NOT), and of him as a poet that turned into a rock star, somewhat of a savior.
