Rockford Fosgate P3 15

How do these sound in a ported box? On the website it said it sounds great with sealed but bad in a ported but those statements aren't always accurate. I just bought one and it should be here tomorrow but I cant figure out which box to get. I want it loud, but clear.

@SubMasterT I personally like it in a ported enclosure. But not a pre-fab one. Do NOT skimp on the box, it's just as, if not more important then the sub itself.

Have that exact amp!! I'm looking at that sub. I can buy it new on ebay 74.99. I'm just wondering if there is something wrong with it? Kinda cheep for Rockford Fosgate. I will buy two 15's. I'm wondering if it will be alot differn't than my two 12 inch mtx's?

@chevymaster02 it's a kick ass amp for sure! but don't sell yourself short on the watts per sub, if you get a RF P3, try to have 500 watts on each one. And... how the fuck would I know, I've never heard your mtx's lol. and besides, most sub set-ups are install dependant. <--- important tip for a loud system.

The kicker comps only handle 150 watts rms, unless you're talking about the silver ones, like VT maybe? but even still I prefer the Fosgates. If you have the money look into Fi car audio products. They're the shit. I guarantee you'll be the loudest kid on the block lol

@chuckchuck1201 Yeah, they are THAT good, the fact that they are hand built to how you want them IN the USA with USA products just makes them that much better. The best line of them are the BTL's, I've had an SSD 18" and an SSD 10" so far and the SSD 10" I swear was much louder and clearer then my RF P3 12". The 18... blew my mind. The box? I made the box a little bigger than spec, so I would gain db's. However in doing that I lost some of the sound quality.

In my opinion I'd go with the Rockford. If you get the Punch or Power series, you can't go wrong. Though I may be slightly biased! Goodluck.

@GOLFISMYSPORT they will sound fine you will need about a 12 cubic ft box minimum for all of them, and the amount of power you run is up to you, 2000 rms between all of them to get the most out of these things without damaging them,

i had just one rockford p1 10 inch with a 300 watt rockford amp and it sounded pretty good..i could only imagine how much better one p3 15 would sound..ive had 2 fusion 15s before 1500 watt fusion amp and it pounded in my blazer
