  • "Sir I'm staying" lol

  • america's greatest generation

  • Super high quality alright... 480p.. woot woot

  • What if they all ran in with a tactical shield? eh eh a bit less casualties? >.>

  • Fucking Campers

  • @ilaritexas The blood splatters on his gun covered with plastic ;-)

  • look closely at 1;53 when guys head gets shot, blood splatters on to nothing.ERROR

  • 70 years later the German Bundeswehr STILL uses the MG42.

  • When I first saw this movie in the theatre you can just feel the fear.

I do not doubt there would be too much talking right before that.

    Very realistic scene!

  • So much fear present, but all one can do is move forward. Brave guys.

  • i know this is really disturbing and sad and I was listening to that Melancholy Hill song at the same time but when the guy was looking for his arm I lol'ed

    i'm probably going to hell

  • @fruitegable verzögern

  • @fruitegable don't worry bro, I did too :] You stoned? it made it hilarious to me...

  • melancholy hill....actually reminds me official music video...

  • Why didn't the American first shoot the nazi bunkers the hell out with a battle ship and than attack with the infantry? Somebody could answer?

  • @Kompressorguy The Navy did. But these defensive bunkers and positions were designed by Rommel himself and difficult to locate from off-shore. Battleships couldn't get close enough to spot their own targets and relied on spotters on the beach. But the destroyers USS McCook and USS Frankford came in close enough to identify their own targets, engaging enemy bunkers and tanks.

  • 6:50 "Mama! Mama!" Why the hell didn't he just shoot himself in the head? Do you really think that you can survive when your guts are all over the place?

  • @gamefreak1000000 Your 18, 19 years old, your guts are spilled across the ground, your going into shock from the indescribable pain, your not going to fucking shoot yourself. Your going to do what all kids do when in pain: call for your mom. So shut the fuck up and use that goddamn brain of yours next time.

  • @worldwar2freak12 Can't speak for me, pal. I would pick up a nearby gun and either kill as many enemies around me as I can before I die or shoot myself in the head and end the pain. I wouldn't sit there crying for my mom when she is on the other side of the planet cleaning dishes. I'm not dissing the military servicemen, but I am just saying that you're not going to live with your guts all over the battlefield. So why not just save yourself the pain or do something like kill nearby enemies?

  • @gamefreak1000000 You've never been in shock, have you? Rapid loss of blood combined with extremely high adrenaline reduces logical thinking to almost zero. This isn't a video game. I've seen people in shock in both military and civilian medical situations -- it isn't a video game. You'd like to think that's how you'd react, but until it happens, you'll never know.

  • Like if you got here from Melancholy Hill

  • @gagehow It kinda makes the song sad, and I have enough sad songs :p

  • OMG THE GUY RUNNING AROUND WITH HIS BLOWN OFF ARM... THAT WAS JUST SAD.

  • This is war...Not fuckin call of duty this is real war.

  • favorite part from favorite movie and stop the gaming comments favorit part is at 502

  • why the fuck is the top comment about gaming...what retard thought that?

  • something that is probably true is that Call of Duty would make you better at this in real life, by some small margin. The Korean school shooter, for instance, at Virginia Tech had really good aim and efficiency from playing this type of game. And Columbine, the cop had to run away. Not to take this down dark alleys, but video games would probably have a benefit on how you fight in a war. Except that you'd be totally out of shape.

  • @Floodlezoot Nonsense. Do you know what being a real soldier is like? I'll tell you what it's like. Pack marches three times a week with a 70 pound pack, (plus rifle and webbing), tedious lectures on how to use a compass that go for an hour+ depending on how dumb your platoon is, and you only get to play with guns after three weeks of basic. Blazing away with guns in COD is COMPLETELY. different. Most COD nerds would shit themselves when they're handed an Austeyr for the first time.

  • @Y2KillerSPOOBLY I did mention that it wouldn't help someone be in shape (marching, carrying heavy shit, enduring temperatures might be included in that).

Maybe I should be specific. COD would help in 3 areas, maybe, I guess. It would help someone to aim, judging by school shootings. It would help create a desensitized willingness to kill that a lot of drafties lacked according to witnesses (shooting in the air). Third you might understand taking cover better than a noob.

  • 4:20 i used to have a knee then i took an arrow to the knee

  • i dont get the 5:02 bit ? why would he look around casually for his blown off arm?

  • @thelolmaster1997 he would be in shock. that was based on eye witness descriptions of it. So as crazy as it looked, that's what happened.

  • @Floodlezoot oooooh ... slightly less amusing now :(

  • instead of putting the doors on the sides of the boats

  • saving ryan's privats

  • Riot sheilds?

  • To every marine that ever fought for me, my country and freedom I say thank you. Thank you for keeping this country I love so much safe. Thank you for letting me wake up every morning without worry. I respect you guys so much, you marines are brave. Also thank you to all of the other members of the armed forces, like the b-17 crews that helped make D-Day possible, an to the mechanics that kept those planes going, and every man that build those planes to save us!

  • Sad thing is they tried to put some amphibious tanks on the beach to take out the gun positions before the soldiers landed, but unfortunately all but one of them didn't make it, if they had the carnage for the Allies probably would have been considerably less.

  • The Nazi's K/D's are high as hell.

  • im willing to bet there was a 82% chance of being killed by machineguns, 13% from mortars, 3% blown up with another soldier carrying explosives, and 2% of actually surviving the landings

  • 太喜欢这个电影了,主角们个个性格鲜明,简直可以触摸到,心疼般感受到。可惜,没中文字幕。

  • I hate it when people say 'aww germans are pigs' or 'the german are scum killing all those americans'. these people do not realize that the nazis were the pigs, not the germans. the german boys were just like the americans, often scared, fighting for a cause they may not even belive in. they were all just young boys lead by mindless cowards. 'lions led by mice'

  • @Jasper1997211 Thank you for not railing about america after you made your very reasonable and true point.

  • we lost way to many on dday

  • I remeber this from a game i have. It was medal of honor frontline

  • War sucks.

  • i feel bad for the solider that lost his arm and went off to pick it up.

  • at 1:26 the guy is cute!! :)

  • i cried while watching this movie in skool!! :( its horrible and i cried everly rememberence day since then!! :(

  • one letter for every dislike! N. A. Z. I. S.

  • Hey Mossad I never said German soldiers were amazing, but you are a fool to think they were not excellent soldiers. The waffen SS were the best soldiers in the world hands down. This beachhead faced units that were not the best, because Germany's best and brightest were in the east. Also to a certain degree they may have been underequipped in say 1942-3,but as you get into 44-45 the Russians had some decent weapons and tanks.Zhukov himself attributed Russias victory to American financing.

  • @maelfesh3 If they were the best soldiers in the World (hands down) they would not have been beaten.

Would they. I know. The best were in the East.

  • @stahlwerke Look at the numbers,it was something like 6-1.You have to realize Russians sent civilians in front of tank formations at times. The nazis were brutal indeed, but the Russians didn't mind throwing millions into the meatgrinder. It doesn't matter how good your army is when it is outnumbered 10-1 or 20-1 in some cases.Hitler essentially had the war won by 1942,a few really stupid mistakes cost him the war.You should read fact and statistics. All Im saying the Germans were not poor soldiers

  • @stahlwerke Tell the 50,000,000 estimated dead [it's definitely a conservative number if you tally Ukranian civilians into the mix] how bad Axis forces were as soldiers. If it werent for several thousand mongolian conscripts hurled at the war machine in Leningrad there is a damn good chance we'd be speaking German right now.Not to mention Hitler staying his hand at Dunkirk,or how close thay actually were to the bomb.

And yes, their best were definitely in the east, who do you think took Berlin?

  • @maelfesh3 What do you mean by "telling the dead" or "Try to tell the dead".

My point was clear and it stood. If you want to fuck dead soldiers to get your point. So it be.

  • @maelfesh3 50 million? are you kidding? I think your off by a digit.

Your also forgetting that the Russians were just as brutal at the Germans. They murdered and raped countless citizens when they invaded Poland and Germany. Not soldiers, CIVILIANS.

  • @stahlwerke Don't really think they were the "Best" But they certainly knew how to fight. It was mainly their leaders fault for commanding them. Once they stopped the attack of Britain and started attacking Russia they screwed up. But thats only my opinion.

  • man i'd rather be anywhere than on the beach during D-Day; that was brutal. Whole squads being wiped out in seconds trying to come off those boats. That said, i wish i could have seen this in the movies, must have been pretty epic on the big screen. i was 8yrs old when this came out so i couldnt go, but my parents saw it like 5 times lol. they just kept going with different people haha

  • Amazing cinematographyand sound mixing and editing!!! I love this film!!!

  • Realize also, had Germany not been fighting the Russians in the East they would have cut through US like a hot knife through butter.Several million men would have been unleashed upon any invasion from the west.Look at Anzio and how slow going that campaign was.I would say 75% of Germany's military capability was tied up fighting the Soviets. The Russians definitely took the brunt of it,and took millions of casualties.....million folks not thousands or tens or hundreds....millions.

  • @maelfesh3 most of that had to do with Russian soldiers being terribly illequiped not because german soldiers were so amazing.

  • @TheMossad921 considering russia threw every single man and woman at their disposal at the germans (which is why 20+ million DIED, countless others injured) i dont think its too far fetched that the german soldiers were better. more trained, more skilled and better equipped.

in russias final push to berlin, for every german soldier that died ~6-7 russian soldiers died. i think it was 1:3 tanks too. speaks for itself. russia won cause it completely swamped germany in numbers

  • @Jarekx2007

First off, R.I.P. to all soldiers and civilians, of all countries, Second... Russia was victorious because of the Siberian Winter, which the German Army wasn't prepared for.

  • @calico992

I think that another reason for that awful defeat was also the great dimensions of Russia and the necessity to march in a very long journey and to come forward with a hard logistic effort.

If WWII has been the Hell on earth, the russian campaign has been the Hell in the Hell...

    May all of them R.I.P.

  • These men were invading Rommel's fortress Europe.Luckily we werent facing elite Waffen SS units, who were perhaps the finest soldiers the world has ever seen. These German soldiers were not cowards, quite the contrary.Luckier still Hitler did not throw a Panzer division at this beach, and Erwin Rommel was not on hand to oversee the actual defense. It could have went the other way easily. My point is to several previous posts calling soldiers in bunkers cowards etc.realize our enemy was very capable.

  • Primo Victoria !!!

  • One of the greatest movies...if not the greatest war movie of all time !

  • and the moral of the story children is never be infront.

  • You know what would have helped a LOT?

Amphibious vehicles that had doors dropping from the sides.

  • @Ixsosna

Your a retarded hick. Learn not to say ain't in a sentence.

And in real life there is camping. It's called pitching a tent and sleeping there

  • @coolpixx12 I'm from the south bitch, I can say ain't, and no shit sherlock, i live like 30 minutes from a national park. I know what camping is. I just hate it when some douche bags compare something that really happened to that fake ass call of duty. And don't correct my grammar when you start a sentence your instead of you're.

  • its luck if you make it down the ramp or not

  • 9gag brought me here lol

    ...luis armstrong :E

  • They should re-make a game with this scene in it. Similar to the one in MoHAA but with much more realistic visuals using the Battlefield 3 engine. I'd totally buy it and play the crap out of it!

  • freakin campers man

  • @themegabutterfish let me tell you how stupid your comment is. In real life their are no campers. There is no run and gunning, quickscoping, and spraying. This ain't Call of Duty, You don't respawn in real life. You die.

  • @lxsosna duh im not stupid man. hell im joining the marine corps when im 18. i was insulting those germans cuz they lack the balls to face those us soldiers face to face, instead of hiding in a bunker

  • Comment removed

  • @lxsosna Or shoot himself in the foot and roll around on the ground in agonizing pain with sand in his wound until he soils himself and begs the crazy guy with a gun not to shoot him in the face, as he gets his torso blown open, concious, then dies a slow painful death.

  • @lxsosna well there kinda is buy ur right if u die u die unless u have a REAL good midic

  • @lxsosna Someone plays call of duty. In real life their are campers, run and gunning, quickscoping (I've done it before on a moose), not sure what spraying is but I do graffiti, but ur right on one thing "you don't respawn in real life."

  • omfg, i watched this with surround sound headphones in HD and all i have to say is perfection

  • I can't even imagine how these poor men must have felt in reality.

  • all the soldiers besides the main cast where all irish.

  • I find this hard to watch, R.I.P.

  • at 5:01, a dude was like "Wheres the heck did I leave my arm?"

  • It's wierd to think, Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia both had their leaders come to power because the country was in the hole and people were divided. I am not saying it will happen, but it seems funny to think the United States would be the next to follow in Germany's footsteps. Before anyone says I am bashing america, let me just say, I am american

  • @johnsmiththebest101

Ture, but the thing is that in Germany there was also a really big xenophobia going on, the economy wasn't even on the crapper it was over it and finally they had a erally populistic party, that was lead by a very charismatic leader. Even though US and A has its problems they are nowhere near what Germany had in the 20s and 30s.

  • Conkers Bad Fur Day copied this scene too

  • how did you make the quality so good

  • sometimes when i watch this vid makes me feel bad for those who died and just makes me wish less men died then what died that day may god let the soldiers rest in piece for ever

  • mmmm i remember this less gore in MOHAA

  • @CAPITANFREAKY hmmmmm.

    i know what you posted.

  • @CAPITANFREAKY and hmmm.

    BAN HAMMER.

    not in the mood.

  • i no crap tose gerens

  • @CAPITANFREAKY - Games do not EVER Mimic real life, bro.......My grandfather had to leave the theater when they played this clip...You better believe it's coming back again!!!........It is coming back around.......The new NaZIS ARE IN WASHINGTON!!!!!

  • @wahahn They are? Huh. I didn't see any SS-polizei rounding up Jews or goosestepping soldiers blindly killing for an insane dictator.

    Watch your mouth, boy.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 - I'll watch my fist flying into your mouth, you pussy. Fuck you

  • @wahahn ur so right , the whole NEW WORLD ORDER, the nazi are the goverment of america and war is horrible.

  • @wahahn

of course they are *pats your head*

  • @CAPITANFREAKY - Stop being a part of the problem brother......

  • @CAPITANFREAKY u were there?

  • @MrAusdog45 Why are you bringing up CoD in a war film like this?

  • @berserker276 causes hes a good for nothing douchebag who thinks the world revolves around CoD.

  • @actionjawa Probably another typical little kid.. I really wish they would stop commenting about games, mainly CoD, on war films. >.<

  • @berserker276 yup, oh and he's American! Surprise surprise.

  • @actionjawa Yea, it's always the little "Yanks" commenting about CoD. That game has like ruined any and all seriousness in any war film. Always some little rat saying "Wow! Fuckin no scope! Or oh my god he's using a noobtube!"

  • Someones getting a tactical nuke

  • wow this is violent

  • poor medics

  • I hate how those soldiers died just when they deployed....

  • what five people disliked this video

  • Were they using cheap armor and weapons back then??? this is just ridiculous seeing them mall down an army like a feast fest.

Helmet ping! DEAD X( = KIDS HELMETS

  • @Reconseal4050

Even modern helmets aren't designed to withstand a direct hit from a rifle bullet. As for the weapons aside from BAR that was unpredictable, or Thompson that lacked long range accuracy (Not needed on SMG.) and bullet strenght (Small bullet, so it was as powerfull as it could be.) most of the USA infantry weapons were really good.

  • @Pikkabuu they are also supposed to protect from debris, tell someone to throw a brick on your head while you're wearing a helmet.

  • This scene must have been a nightmare to film

  • R.I.P to every single person who died fighting for their country

  • @mjmegafan223 war is just a mess, somethign we should avoid nowdays with our modern world thats connected all over the world. maybe usa should consider degrading their military.

  • @strikername It's a dog eat dog world. We need to step it up instead of degrading. My grandfather's generation went around this world and kicked everybodies ass. I don't know what part of Europe your from the part whose ass we kicked or the part whose ass we saved.

  • my grandfather was in ww2 and was one of the soldiers in this scene. he recieved the bronze star medal of honor after, and after watching this i gained more respect for him and all other soldiers. god bless america

  • my grandpa fought on omaha beach. he never talks about it and he never will.

  • @prankcallingisfun And he's got the right not to. I can guarantee your Grandpa saw some really sickening things, that day.

  • @MostEpicMango no doubt in my mind.

  • i have been to the real omaha, utah, sword, juno and gold. its looks like and ordinary beach except for the ruined bunkers

  • oh noes! the camera ma have been died cause of the german attack

  • i love the sniper scenes.

  • 2 miles down the beach there was a group of rangers who had the job of storming a cliff to destroy german cannons they had a rush team of 150 more soldiers that would go in after the original rangers completed the mission ......they didnt complete the mission in time so their comanders thought they had all died so they sent there 150 rangers to omaha beach wich help greatly

  • I've been on the beach where they filmed this. It's a beach in Wexford in the South of Ireland. My friends live down there so I go about twice a year to this great beach.

  • thumbs up if you think the army guy is good at finding arms and legs

  • So now I know how my great grandfather died

  • "Clear the ramp. 30 Seconds. Nice knowing ya guyz!"

  • @zenophas I think he said, "God be with you"

  • 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry lost 96% of their men in the first 10 minutes of the breaking of Omaha. This movie didn't dramatize a thing, if anything, it let us off easy.

  • i wonder how many guys had little speeches like that, then instantly got merced.

  • The whole scene is so powerful.

And it really captures the horrors of war perfectly.

Especially the part with the young soldier on the ground with his intenstines hanging out and crying for his mommy is moving.

But fighting the japanese army must have been even worse since they were not willing to surrender.

  • Anyone who actually survived the first assault on Omaha Beach probably wished that they had died.

  • Comment removed

  • medal of honour allied assault!

  • Stupid question, but wouldnt it have been better to send parachutists into the hinterland of the Normandie who would have fought their way to the beaches of Omaha? I mean, attacking Germans on the Omaha beach frontally looks like a hopeless position for the Allies.

  • @joaquinveyron they did send in airborne troops, and while omaha beach was a bloodbath, the Allies still did win. perhaps there were other ways they couldve taken it but hey it still worked.

  • the war that i find most interesting is WW2 because of how many major weapons had been made just in time for WW2 to be a huge bomb sight

  • wouldnt wanna be the first guy

  • After WWII Teddy Roosevelt wanted to occupy Germany to head off WWII, so this would never have happened.

  • My grandfather was in this battle.

  • the only real complaint i have is i hate how they alwasy shoot the germans as they are running away, like they never stood and fought, and the famethrower wouldnt have blasted the whole bunker that way, they had way too many walls, it turns out they are designed not to be able to wipe out that way

  • What utter horror these boys must have witnessed. This scene gives you some idea of what a real war must be like. A WWII veteran who fought the Japs in New Guinea told me once that he actually cried for his mother on more than one occasion - and he was a tough old sod.

  • I've never noticed some of the detail in this film until now so the guy in the background at 8:05 made me feel sick.

  • I WILL NOT DO HISTORY AGAIN!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! LOOK AT THE YOUNG MAN WHO SHOUTED MAMA MAMA MAMA!!!! OHHHH MY GOD!!!

  • @fuckyouobama1 Probably one of the most power movie scenes ever, thanks for posting this brother, freedom isn't free.

  • Omaha beach was a surprise because the days prior, allies bombarded the shit out of the entire area. Dropped some 40+ tons of bombs. Allies thought they had destroyed most of the pill boxes and bunkers, so the initial landing wouldn't be too rough. They were right as far as Sword, Juno and Gold beach goes. Utah was somewhat difficult but Omaha beach was still heavily guarded and the first few hours turned out to be absolute slaughter. Over 2,000 Americans were killed on Omaha beach alone.

  • Can someone please tell me what the black pouch like things were attached to all of the soldiers' chests?

  • @NowKillYourself that was a gas mask in the black pouch

  • Too bad the Germans lost.

  • Great movie and lots of honor to our brave men and women of that time...but I gotta say, who ever designed that front door drop must be fired or hung because they caused lots of men to DIE!

  • My stormed the beaches with the 2nd Ranger Bat. and scaled the sea wall at Pointe du Hoc, while the other dropped on Normandy with the 101st Airborne assaulting the Germany artillery positions.

One of the most historic days in American Military history.

  • Life's a beach

  • @GotNoBrained I'm just playing in the sand

  • pause it at 7:44 isn't it lol

  • @MrDimi2000 yes hes japenses

  • 7:10 vampire bite marks...?

  • who else was thinking conkers bad fur day when they saw this?

  • the guy walking around with his arm is the most haunting thing I've ever seen, it's the shit that sticks whenever you think of Saving Private Ryan

  • Comment removed

  • This scene is so accurate that it's fucking terrifying.

  • 7:04 is so beautifully done

  • some smoke bombs would have made this alot easier

  • @popolynn2 not really because then they could just shoot into the smkoke
