This was first introduced in 1986, and lasted several years before General Mills (the makers of Lucky Charms- that's why this cereal was similar) decided not enough kids were asking their moms for it, and quietly discontinued it.
I remember this cereal. It was vile. Try to imagine what it would be like if The Dollar General had a store brand and they attempted to rip off Lucky Charms.
my god another memory from my childhood just got unlocked from watching this commercial... namely seeing all these cereal commercial and my mom doing us kids a favor by not buying them. lets change the lyrics for the jingle shall we? "It has sugar, sugar, sugar and sugar, sugar and sugar!" plus a few artificial food coloring that will probably give you brain cancer within twenty years of your life(got brain cancer when I was 25, fortunately I got cured of it a few years later)
nope never had it, closest thing to it was probably Lucky Charms. hate it cause the marshmallows are to gritty. I also remember Urkele-O's remember that cereal? they tried to cash in on the most popular and the most annoying character in "Family Matters" I got teased in junior high cause my name was steven and I wore glasses. the cereals flavor was strawberry and bananas. two great tastes that DONT taste great together.
I feel the same way as you! Such great memories! Remember Pacman cereal??? LOL!
Hey, did you ever beg for cereal, only wanting it for the toy inside? hehehe. My mom never did this, but I hear tell of some most cruel parents that wouldn't let their poor children have the toy, until AFTER the cereal was finished. Sometimes the toy was just a gimmick/ploy to sell crappy tasting cereal they knew no kid would willingly buy or eat. The toy was essentially a bribe. Poor kiddies! :-)~
I remember that my little brother loved this cereal (back in '85 or '86). My grandpa would let us pick out our own cereal. I remember my Mom saying.."You know, this is the same man that made us eat raisin bran when we were little." LOL!
@soundsfromnothing Hey don't pick on raisin bran lol...my mom loved the stuff (she was partial to Kellogg's Raisin Bran though). But because of that now I eat raisin bran quite a bit myself.
I've never had the cereal.. because I don't think I was even born during it.. But my dad always sang the commercial. Fun to finally see it after all this time
I loved Circus Fun cereal! It was the only cereal back then that had a TON of marshmallows. It was ridiculously sweet. It's in my top 3 cereals with Smurfs Cereal and C3P0's.
Thank you. The smurfs yes maaaaaaaaad sugar!! Fuck yah! And it was hard as shit. And they stopped selling that too. Cuz all these people out here wanted some fucking... I don't ahhhhhhhhhhhh I don't know? AHHHHH!!
You assholes....... this was the greatest cereal ever everrrrr eeeeeevvvvveeeerrrrrrr!!!!!!!............!!! I am dead ass serious man.. This shit was fucking Great. Fuck the damn commercial. When they stopped producing Circus Fun (after like 3 months) I stopped eating sweet type cereal.
The only thing about this cereal I remember is the commercial. Never tried it though!! I love these memorie lane visits!! Makes me want it to be the 80's on Saturday!!
Wow! I haven't seen this commercial in about 20 years! I remember seeing this commercial when I was six years old. I was so attracted to it that I had to ask my parents to buy me the cereal. Don't remember much about the cereal, though, but I remember the commercial. Thanks for the post!
My cousin loved that commercial so much, when it got to the "And Lions" part, he impersonated that bit doing his Pee Wee Herman voice! Just imagine Pee Wee Herman saying "And Lions!", you'll laugh!

I tried this cereal. It was pretty gross. Kind of like extra-sweet Trix with marshmallows.
