@frymahhide1982 Well, I remember hearing in some commentary that Collins was originally supposed to be white. I was like "....WHAT?! A WHITE GUY?! ANGEL, BEAT THAT DRUM OF APOCALYPSE!"
I actually like this version of RENT better, because it's more raw, and it's just... i dunno. It doesn't have anything to do with the person singing it, but more to do with the music, lyrics, and the way that the person portray's Jonathan's characters. I bet these guys in the workshop were just as excellent as the OBC
(minus Daphne and Anthony, because they ARE in the OBC) because it's not about they're voice, but they're ability to connect with the characters.
this is very nice. . . its proof that, although the obc is the standard we measure RENT by, others also had a hand in developing/inspiring the end product. As an ensemble member of RENT myself, I try to do something original, and not just copy the obc.
Collins sounds like he should be Roger, lol

@frymahhide1982 So yeah, I think Collins is sung by a white guy in this one. Hence the voice.

is it just me, or is Angel's voice deeper than Collins' in this?
Anyway, thank you so much for adding... they really add immesurable value to the Rent Universe.
