I've fought leitai and have friends that fight Sanda. I'm not sure where the knifework is in Sanda. I also have some experience in shuai jiao and pekiti tersia... I'd prefer to show basic ways to AVOID the knife instead of how to lock up the arm that's got the knife. I carry a knife for knife situations. I'd still rather just get out of dodge. Still I commend anyone teaching, because I know it's not easy. If I'm ever in Buffalo, to see family, I'll look you up, man.
@nomamao well that isn't me in the video so dont look me up haha. I graduated and left Buffalo a year ago I think if you look more towards the military Sanda then you'd find weapons and self defense stuff. Obviously ring Sanda is a bit different. If you find someone that teaches both then that'd be pretty cool. thanks for watching
I've never done any gun work, but those knife defenses aren't going to work when pressure tested. Trust me. A live knife is your worst enemy if you don't have a weapon.
@nomamao I've only done some limited knife/stick work in Modern Arnis and I'd have to say LOTS of techniques involving knives are hard to pull off while pressure tested. But these look like pretty textbook knife techniques for Sanda. I'm not a big knife guy, I'd prefer to run haha
