I was in a gifted program in elementary, and when I got moved to a regular school and skipped up a grade it still wasn't a good thing. In my opinion, its best to be surrounded by peers who help push you. I stopped trying so I wouldn't stand out, and think it would have been best to stay in a good program.
He can always skip through to uni and do homeschool using the learnerade method.
