Under a blanket of FUCKING SCARY SONG, just you and I GETTING THE CRAP SCARED OUT OF US!
The second I heard this in the Innkeepers trailer, not only did I fall in love with it, I could have sworn this was in Bioshock as well. It's certainly the type of song playing in the jukeboxes around Rapture, that's for sure.
I saw that your grandfather was Kenny Sargent. I never met him, but I listened to him religously on WRR radio in Dallas in the 1950's and 1960's. He was my favorite disc jockey of all time. I especially liked it when he put on his record of "Under a Blanket of Blue. He also loved to put on comedy records and stuff like that. He kept me entertained for years and years. I would really enjoy hearing from you. Your grandfather was great! He had the greatest voice!
In the 1950's and 1960's, Kenny Sargent was a disc jockey in Dallas, Texas for WRR 1310 AM radio. He was my favorite. Occasionally, he would play this record of "Under a Blanket of Blue". I thought it was one of the nicest songs I've ever heard - and I was in my teens and twenties. He used to play songs of the day and comedy records. This fine man had a way with a radio audience. Thanks for sharing this song with us.
how nice to hear that about my grandfather. i really never knew him at all. i met him once right before he died in 1969. i was 7. i had no idea really what kind of person he was or how well known he was in dallas. we were in memphis tn. im so glad that you remember him fondly. its so strange.. the other night i had a dream about him ..i guess because he has been on my mind and i dreamed he gave me a hug..my g mother used to play his records but until you tube i had never seen him singing..
What a perfect song I have discovered recently. Perfectly written, and definitely ahead of it's time. I am searching and hoping for it to be redone by "Beck", one of my favorite Pop-Rad artists of today. But really, no one can beat the great orchestra's of the 1930's and early 40's.

@MrSeattlebound
Good sir, you seem to share a common fancy to this as I do.
I found this song appealing too, BECAUSE it was used as such a vile contrast with all the horrific imagery of that trailer for The Innkeepers.
Trailers like that get me hard.

There is an old story that back in the early 30's Crosby, while drunk on the air, sang "Under a blanket with you!". Any truth to this old saw?

you mentioned in the video description Henry Biangini, do you have any of his orchestra's records?
