I wish lady gaga would just become a missing person sometimes. I get sick of hearing that she is edgy and fresh.....sorry already been done....and done very well.
I miss seeing Dale around town and wonder where she is now. I hope she is doing ok......The last time I saw her was at the Post Office and she was looking forward to a gig in California.
Spring Session M is just mixed up Missing Persons.
I remember staring, with rapt amazement, at Dale Bozio's succulently moist, very widely spread vagina in the no holes barred photospread she did for Hustler Magazine when this song came out. It was sometime before I was able to eat clams again.
I think its soo stupid how people say that a artist lady ga ga is copying dale come on guys every genre every look every idea overlaps another in some kind of way how can anything be considered original anymore?
Boy I had forgotten what a nice set of muscular long killer legs she had back in the day! WHEW! Like to lick your way up those thighs to the promised land! (Which you can alomst see here) HEE HEEE
Well when I FIRST laid eyes on Gaga 'Oh Dale of Missing Persons' influence. But in our hyper-distracted culture, the kids have NO CLUE to Dale or Missing Persons. Love this song. Takes me back to '80's in a flash.
@TheMobhit I hear you brother! Fuck me I would give one of my kidney's.hell one of my kids to go back in time! Seems like yesterday! I saw them at Magic Mountain in California back in the day,and broke up with my girlfriend all in the same night! Ah the good ole days!
@GaGazMonster Grammar Tip: The word “an” should be used before words that begin with vowels. For example, "Please stop dissing Gaga. She is an influenced fan, not an enemy."
by far MISSING PERSONS signature song. got them into the mainstream and mtv rotation. plus dale's intriguing outfit - or lack thereof - got the teenage boy's attention. even though their candle burned out quickly, they left an indelible mark on early new wave music of the '80s.
yeah yeah yeah, saw this band Missing Persons back in the 1980's, and yes they did have my attention, think the Suburban Lawns from Long Beach, California opened for them; Led by Sue "Su Tissue" McLane (vocals/ keyboards) with Frankie Ennui (Richard Whitney) (guitar), Vex Billingsgate

Dale Bozzio preceded Madonna AND Lady GaGa with quirky style, "screw the suits" kind of music and her own style. She broke out in a music segment that was dominated by men and, like Blondie, was one of the pop icons of 80's wave music. And she is a hot little pixie.
It's you whom I love, babe... Dale, you've made deep scars in the hearts of a generation... This one comes loaded with memories of a taxi driver in the wilderness of a so called capital city... it can get very dangerous at times and incredibly romantic when the mood or the heat is on... oh the heat is on... yeah why not...
most of the girl singers out today were defiietly influenced by Missing Persons, Cyndi Lauper and other singers from this time. They paved the way for them, baby! Rock on!
i remember an interview with Terri asking how she came up with her wild outfits and she said something like, she'd go to stores, toy stores, etc and just grab stuff that she could turn into attire.... or lack thereof, lol - - - held my attention :-D

@xJessie181x ...I agree, but it is funny how the younger teens and 20 year old think Lady Gaga is original and all she is is a remix of Dale Bozzio...Lady Gaga has some great music, but there is some songs that is just nuts and the videos are reeeally trashy...Dale has some racy video's and she got aaaa lot controversy over her music and appearance way before Lady Gaga...Gaga wasn't even a itch yet in her parents pants...when all this wave of music started...
Any red blooded American male would have to say she is totally hot. I was in college during this song's height. I loved her then and love her now. This band was so great for it's time. The outfit was kinda pornographic for it's time too.
If you were around during this song's hey day you'd know it was a great song for it's time. I, for one, thought it catchy and pertinent for the time. I think I'll dye my hair blue. What a great line. What are words for? Why are you typing if you really think no one listens any more.
I'm not going to sift through all the bullshit, but anyone who has half a brain cell knows that Frank Zappa approved of her musical talent. Anyone who knows Frank Zappa knows he has high standards. She's got a great voice and more importantly can sing live.
I will add to that assessment: I had an immediate attraction to her voice as well. Not only can she sing, but she got the twist we wanted during that time of life (I was a teen and anxious to dye my blond hair blue...at least a strip). Great band! I felt so empowered with this song and others.
Okay..that makes me feel a little better,,,never heard the Frank Zappa thing but I have always thought this girl had charisma and a great talent...my husband always laughs and says 'its so 80's' but I think this would amazing today...
A very good observation. Zappa really knew about innovative new sounds. He is a good gauge of true talent. He didn't care what was popular or not, but instead recognized talent and cutting edge performances. Again I say this is a very good observation and standard to judge this band by.
What's really great about 80's dance music is that it always had a real bite to it with the aggressive guitar adding strong elements of rock to the danceable melody and the chorus is always timeless. Today's dance music is just pure digital and really wimpy sounding!
Yeah young kids today probably think Lady Gaga is very original but chicks like Dale Bozzio and Debbie Harry were the fashion renegades decades ago who eventually spawned the likes of gaga and Gwen and others.
Missing Persons was the first musical crush I had... I was ten when this came out.... Dale Bozzio was my "first wife".. then came Tina Turner, then Sheila E. ... then Janet.... then Bjork.... then...............
I think she worked at the Playboy Club in the Boston area, but didn't pose in the mag. That may have still made her a Playboy Bunny. I think those clubs are no longer....are they?
I always wondered, is that a muffin tray she's wearing down below in front? First time I saw this video, my immediate thought, "She looks like a hooker from Mars!"
Terry Bozzio is such a musical drummer-listen to his playing and interestingly enough he considered his stint with Frank Zappa to be an education within itself.
OMG a slutty rock star!?!? Who would have imagined that? I guess I should be mad at Mick Jagger because he was slutty. Or maybe it's just a double standard.
There are yootoob clips of Dale singing this same song live. These live performances were "recording studio enhanced," right?
"I guess I should be mad at Mick Jagger because he was slutty. Or maybe it's just a double standard."
Oh SHUT UP. This overused little [pseudo]-feminist crying is frankly, bereft of logic. Nobody was talking about Mick Jagger or any other rock stars, so why the fuck should the poster suddenly go "oh but (insert random male rocker) is a slut too"? You can't read his mind and assume to know what he thinks about others just because they weren't mentioned.
Also, you bra-burners are obnoxious about not making it clear where your real problem lies. Do you think that sluttiness is okay, but only disapprove of name-calling not "going both ways"? Also, in your need drag the names of random men in the mud when defending these women, how are YOU not being sexist? Bottom line, bringing up what "other people do" in light of a person being criticized is a childish argument tactic.
What he was trying to do was write her off as a no talent slut. Stereotyping!
He called her a slut, because she was unfaithful to her husband. But if she was a man we would just assume the rock star cheats on their spouse.
Then he throws in some second hand crap about her sucking at some show god knows where or when. He said this was all studio enhanced when there is plenty of live evidence just on YT of her being crazy in concert.
Im a man but I know a double standard when I see one.
p. you know theres a jack or harry or tom fm in every in every major city in the USA.
no kidding the jack thing ain't no badge of honor.
what gets kudos is the wise guy dj who dared and prolly got fired for playing stuff this rich on good ole jackitty jack jack fm, like 3 times before they fired his ass.

No man would 'listen' when she looks like that! If she hid her chest a little I think men might pay more attn to what she says!

Dale and Aimee Mann were 2 of the hottest rock chicks ever. I hope she didn't really neglect the kittens in NH.
I'm 43 and still love Missing Persons, ever since high school.
