Hi Karel, great job - you are a vintage gear guru! have an SP12-Turbot-he 1st black drum pad started to fail to trigger.only if i hit the left side of it it triggers... but its really annoying.. :( since the drum pads for SP12/1200 are impossible to find, i've decided to try to open the box for the 1st time and try repair that bad drum button. What materials and method i should use to clean and repair the drum pad? P.S. alvast bedankt-ik kan Nederlands spreken-heb in de 90's in Adam gewoont

@jazzroom take the button off and clean it's sensor with a pencil eraser. should work fine after that.

@OGKaine thanks for you reply OGKane :) i,ve took the top of the pad off and it all looked very clean and i've scrubbed the spring and the sesor with a tiny screwdriver... but no success... the pad doesnt trigger anymore :( i ve asked on SP1200 forum: someone suggested that i should check if the solder joints are ok and check the sensor on continuity with Muitimeter ,but i still don't have one yet. i've ordered a pad sensor replacement from Bruce Forat, now need to learn fine soldering ;)

@jazzroom Yeah, soldering takes a few ticks, but it's worth it man, get your beast back to where it needs to be. I'm gonna watch your vid and then come back to re-assess.

what fluid is the bottle that you use for cleaning the boards?

alcohol / distilled water mix.

The water enables me to hydrate the dirt and clean it more efficient.

The alcohol helps dry it up faster.
