Even if old buses can drive this road, at least you have to give credit to Mitsubishi to test their cars in the worst conditions you could get. They put their money where their mouth is.
A great styled crossover with 4WD, outstanding MPG and a ton of tech, Outlander sport is the choice for my wife and I. The engineers that made the made the EVO what it is did their work on this car:
-lower drag coefficient than a civic and corvette
-400 lbs lighter than a base 2.4 outlander
-HIDs also project on the sides and light up 80 degrees, more than a Lexus LS (and they work well in snow)
Not saying that they aren't capable off road vehicles, but what exactly does this prove? Last I checked the people that live there drive minivans, busses and regular fwd cars down this road all the time, so what does it prove?
seriously this stuff is way cooler than the stupid "green" movement the new CEO wants to go
an interesting ad on an interesting car. drop the retarded iMiev and "green" theme
and this is coming from a Mitsubishi salesman. I could care less about the iMeiv, this is what Mitsubishi is all about - driving dynamics and AWC (ontop of warranty, value, styling)
No AWD I've ever tested tops my Evo's S-AWC... nothing! :-)
Mitsu's AWD is one of the best drivetrains available now kids... go test drive one... if the Outty and Outty Sports are not enough to convince you then try an Evo... It's a WRC king for a reason
What a bunch of BULLSHIT Ted this is the most dangerous road but u don't need Mitsubishi's special control system for it ... There are buses and trucks that use that road with no control system why don't they just blow smoke up each-others ass there was a tv show showing truckers from the show ice road truckers driving trucks on this road advertisers are a bunch of liars
i bought one, now i am waiting for it to be delivered... the waiting kills me. I live in finland, - my house is in the forest, to me that care is more than a show off tool. I hope it keeps up to the marketing tuned expectations :-) At least my old outlander was fantastic.... just needed more clearance - a rock below the snow killed the kardan shaft...
Very Cool, great PR and I see Mitsubishi has made a substantial investment in Bolivia on the other side of the country in the Salt Flat area to mine lithium for electric car batteries also. Looks like Mitsubishi means business, plus those are cool cars.
Not impressive. Jezza, James May, and Richard Hammond aka the guys from the show Top Gear tackled this road with a old Range Rover, older Toyota FJ Cruiser, and a Suzuki sidekick. A civic can drive on this road. Its all about the drivers skill.
@T67GS300 yes, pure marketing. I wish they would show some real off-road, and not just a narrow road - in fact, a bicycle would be the best to go there :-)
@zoolkhan yes good marketing for the place! the name is coroico and this road is actually just for bicycles, there is another road for cars sins many years. But you can still drive on it with a normal car. And this is the beast bicycle road ( most beautiful) in south america.
@ApexIXMR Having owned two Mitsubishi's with AWD, I can vouch that they make one of, if not the best AWD system available. If they can handle one of the most dangerous roads on the planet, I feel pretty darn safe, even if I almost never venture outside of suburban streets.
*sigh*. You guys REALLY need to change the way you market your products if you want to reach your audience and increase your North-American footprint. Releasing a video which highlights the location more than the vehicles you are advertisement is not going to cut it. Key NA customers who are buying a CUV/small SUV couldn't care less how it "handles" a lightly-graveled road that's considered dangerous as they most likely will never venture outside suburban streets. C'mon guys!
@ApexIXMR I think this is a fairly cool thing to do to market the car. For someone like me who knows nothing about cars, I imagine that you would never market a car on the "world's most dangerous road" if there wasn't some significant weight behind the claim that it handles incredibly well.

-regenerative brakes for an extra mpg or two.
Can carry my wife and I's bikes with all wheels!

Does anyone know the name of the haunting drumbeat pattern in this ad's soundtrack?
Duh duh DUH, du du du du du
Duh duh DUH, du du du du du
... and it sounds so familiar. Does it come from a song we know?
Thanks!

MitsubishiCars :
Does the XDrive of BMW is as well as your S-AWC ?
(Because it can allocate up to 100 torque to the rear wheels
It also has independent rear wheels)
please be honest

It's power of association and it works amazingly. As a marketer, I know how effective this can be. It's an international sell, by the way.
