The problem isn't the UN, per se. The problem is the member countries in the UN.

You can think of the UN as a table, around which representatives of the member countries sit. If they choose to do nothing, nothing is done.

The people we need to condemn are the Arab neighbors surrounding Israel who do not react in any meaningful way to Israel's aggression. Why is Saudi Arabia still selling oil to Israel?

I don't think Saudi Arabia sells oil to Israel. In fact, I think it's Russia that sells oil to Israel. Israel in turn, is selling advanced Israeli unmanned drones to Russia. From it's port on the black sea, Russia can ship oil to Israel quite quickly.

I know he is profoundly more informed than I am, but I cannot see how the UN hasn't failed, politically. If its biggest members are not acting and not accountable, then it has failed.

I agree there is a public opinion change around the [Western] world, but that has more to do with the connectivity of progressives around the world and the free flow of information, particularly over the internet, than the UN, which has been around for decades with no global sympathy for Palestine.
