Britney is brilliant. She was forced to be a child for too long early in her career. The VMAs wasn't great, but the people around her should have helped her, not pusherd her before into coming back before she was ready and well. She accepted the spotlight when she was younger, but she pushed it away when it involved her kids' welfare and who can blame her. She's recovering and I'm sure she'll be great again if that's what she wants :)
