Wing Chun punches are one of the most powerful punches if done properly, it uses the whole body's weight, you won't see it in videos only the practitioner and the opponent will know how powerful they are.
Wing Chun was designed to get power from close distance, these fighters train for this.

the chain punches are insanely effective, they aim for several specific places to immobilize you quite well. the power issue of the boxers haymaker, well that is a waste of energy. not that the punch isnt tried and true, but the old one inch punch when done correctly can send a grown man across a room. Ive been one of them. its like Chubs told Happy Gilmore, its all in the hips.

Nice video. This WC guy went a little easy on the guy. Martial Artists are taught to hit vital areas and this guy just went for the face - control. He could've easily hit the dudes throat, eye jabbed him, smashed his nose etc...MMA fighters are taught differently, ofcourse MMA fighters can train to hit vital areas too. Only thing I like about MMA is the ground work where u can snap someone's limb off. But i'd like to try BJJ with rubber practice knives and see what that art is about.

But it's a sport like any other ( football, rugby etc. etc.) and guys and girls want to compete. Some of them have classic martial arts backgrounds but can't really utilise those skills 100% in competition. They use what works in that sport. It's not really their fault that the sport is marketed that way. They just like to compete. It's the armchair fantasy fighters that bother me.

It simply becomes about the right to stay alive. If you need info on attacks and the type of weapons used in those attacks in the USA the FBI has a data base that is updated yearly.

wing chun isnt weak if u know how to use it right. Many sifu these days cant properly teach wing chun. And its not weak just because it conserves energy.
If you get it by a real sifu using one-inch punch famous to wing chun im sure you wouldnt call it weak.
