The fact or case of the matter is, that people can't handle change or differences. And it's simply because of this: The cheerleading coach for our school can teach fine when it's easy ,but as soon as it's somebody who might actually need you to break it down, or actually, i don't know, DO SOMETHING, then it's in the best interest for the person to not try out. All my sister wants to do, is basic things like everyone else, but society isn't ready for special people like her, or that young man.

ok, being mentally challenged DOESN'T mean you have behavioral problems. You really shouldn't speak if you're not educated on the topic. My sister is mentally challenged and she has NO behavioral problems what so ever .She just learns at a slower pace than other people. She was declined the right to be on the cheerleading team too, because she might not be able to "get the steps", although she is on our church dance team, and memorizes those steps just as easy as anyone else.

if he isnt allowed to cheer because he isnt good enough of or cant hit the moves right then i understand that he shouldnt be allowed to cheer because cheer is getting more and more competetive by the year. but if its because hes a guy and they dont want a guy dancing, then they need to get over it. if hes a guy and wants to dance like the girls, LET HIM! i would love to have a guy on our team dance :)

honestly, i don't think it has anything to do with him being bi-racial, gay, or mentally challenged...there's a certain ideal of what a male cheerleader is...these days they aren't involved in dance routines, they don't use pom-poms, or do anything that would be considered "feminine"...he's a male cheerleader...not a female cheerleader...so i can see why he wouldn't be allowed to participate in such activities

First off let me inform everyone on here that Cheerleading began as a male sport not a female sport as it stands he has made the squad and you girls should deal with it because let me tell you something you all made it and I AM SURE not everyone on the team is liked by everyone else so get over it yeah it would be great if you all could get along and be friends and have some hot guy on YOUR squad but face facts you didnt so you should just make the best out of it. when you have a small squad like this the guy just claps and yells and lifts the girls in the air and catches them. I don't these girls trust him catching them.

I was offered the chance to be a male cheerleader in HS because all the girls liked me and I was really strong.

Especially on a small squad. I bet these girls would love to have a guy that could do the lifts but I doubt this guy could do them.
