@TheAmazingCreative I made this a few years ago and I don't really remember because I was working on other projects for school at the time. I probably worked on it maybe 10 hours a week for a month and a half or so? So the whole thing took about 60 hours.

I think Charlie and the chocolate factory does not really suit this. Maybe if there was talking etc. but with pure music you want the actions to fit more to the music. But its harder if you can't make the music yourself cause then you need to base the actions around the music choice which is never a good idea. But good work with what you were provided.

I think you did an awesome job animating this. It's a very smooth animation, and it has a funny twist to it. :) I do animation in a program similar to Flash, but I don't color much or ink it like you did. You did a great job, keep up the good work!

How long have you been animating to get this good? How much do you practice? How do you practice?

I started animating about 3 years ago, for the first year I didn't do it too regularly, but since it's my major I animate almost every day now, probably about 4-5 days a week on average, for 2-4 hours per day.

I practice with basic shapes, just choose an action and force yourself to follow through with animating it, even if you get stuck. When you can't animate for practice, just sketching in a sketchbook helps, because solid drawing skills are also useful.
