I once had the great fortune to see Willie Nelson play here in Nottingham, UK. Without a doubt the greatest gig I have ever been to. 3 hours of constant playing, the rest of the band took a break but not Willie and his sister, they just carried on.

What a voice and he was also a fine guitar player. They were all good friends. Supposedly one time Willie was singing and Waylon said, "I told you that you always sing ahead of the tune." and Willie got so tickled he couldn't sing. My opinion only, Johnny Cash had a wonderful voice early on, but smoking and his lifestyle left him with less of a voice. Waylon on the other hand, led a terribly drug filled lifestyle, but he never lost the sound of his voice. I saw both of them in concert and Waylon had cocaine around his nose, at least I assume it was coke and he was still wonderful. sj more

In his autobiography he stated that Elvis was the most beautiful man he ever saw and he said, "and then there was that voice." High praise. We have been blessed in our lifetime with many great entertainers. It's hard to pick one to be the best. I also love Dwight Yoakum, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Hank Williams Jr. and Andrea Bocelli.
