thank you for the educational experience...i made the choice to see that grateful dead around the times these guys played...good bad or indifferent, your posting brought me back to some good days from the 1990's...thank you...
love these guys grew up on them in the north regions of BC love them all but only got to see and meet the great Johnny Cash and his wife June in the summer of 86 in Vancouver soooooo awesome
this is really awesome, thank u for these vids...there is no better line-up than four of the greatest musicians in the music world..rest in peace, cash and jennings.
I once had the great fortune to see Willie Nelson play here in Nottingham, UK. Without a doubt the greatest gig I have ever been to. 3 hours of constant playing, the rest of the band took a break but not Willie and his sister, they just carried on.
i love willie nelson.johnny cash.waylon jennings,n kris kristofferson they all made great songs n no matter how old the songs are i still love to hear them all RIP johnny cash, waylon jennings you are still misses to this very day
@pyrofella - Wille Nelson, 1st verse (0:38). Kris Kristofferson, 2nd verse (1:13). Waylon Jennings, 3rd verse (1:48). and last, but certainly not least, Johnny Cash on the 4th verse at (2:32).
It's Reggie Young my favorite Guitar player. He played on millions Hit records. (Suspicious Mind, In the Ghetto, Son of a preacher man etc, etc. Greetings from Germany
@pyrofella ohh hes only a world famous DJ from start that knew Buddy Holly and became hes Bass player on the turney when buddy died in a plane crash.. hes name is Waylon Jennings.. only 2 of these guys are still breathing.. and both are famous movie stars now instead. bet most of you can tell who they are pretty easy..
is a very deep song i think deeper that what we think, listen very carefully to the lyrics i think is talking about reincarnation wish it makes more and more sense every time i listen 2 that song wish is 1 of my favs
@76DHerrick: Whatever dude. To each his own. Luckily there are millions of people around the world that hold Kris in very high esteem. He is gifted beyond what we are used to nowadays, a prolific singer-songwriter. His latest albums: Closer to the bone and This old road, are both superb collections with honest, beautiful music. He's the real thing, still making it at age 70+.
76dherrick? Are you High? Although Kris K did not have the music Career that the other 3 had, he was and still is one of the greatest country song writers that ever lived. Granted many others made his sounds popular, it will never take away from his ability to write fantastic songs. I personally don't think that his voice is that bad anyway.
kris kristofferson, although a great lyricist, does not deserve to be among these other three. hes not even close to their level. RIP Johnny and waylon
Nobody loves country music more than New Yorkers. This concert was filmed in the REAL heart of New York City. It's called Long Island. It's places like Long Island that bred the heroes that gave themselves selflessly on 9/11.
I took my father to see these guys it was my first concert taking him, and now that he passed away I will always cherish the smile on his face as we jammed to some great tunes....He loved both His county and Country R.I.P Col. Botsford
Willie always sang "in front of the song" and Waylon teased him about it all of the time. They were very close friends as were Johnny Cash and Waylon. When all's said and done, however, none of them had the voice that Waylon did. Amazing.
Ahhh. 3 of Texas' finest sons and of course Johnny was from Arkansas. When I was growing up I saw all these guys individually and another great county music and Texas legend, George Jones.
Thank you ksulfer. Ijust came across these today and Im going to watch all of them.i never saw them together but i did see Waylon 4 times and Willie twice
Hey, the Nassau Coliseum! My backyard-like right up the street. We as Long Islanders should be honored these legends graced our neighborhood to highlight their show to the world. Awesome!
What the hell is the matter with you people? This is a song and a video to love and enjoy! Why are you trying to pick it apart? Relax and enjoy it!!!!!!!!! Thank You For Posting This :}}
@CashPresley32 I'm sorry to tell you this, but this four singers were of the outlaw country music angainst Nashville country music. This was the reason of their succes.
@CashPresley32 It just doesn't get any better than this. I was blessed to see Johnny and Waylon and Willie. All of them were great but Waylon, well, he's simply the best. What a voice and he was also a fine guitar player. They were all good friends. Supposedly one time Willie was singing and Waylon said, "I told you that you always sing ahead of the tune." and Willie got so tickled he couldn't sing. Again, love them all, but Waylon's the ONE. sj
I agree with you, on one thing. It doesn't get any better than this, however Johnny Cash is and always will be the "King of Music Period" to me, because number one he crossed all musical boundaries successfully, and made whatever he sang his own, and number two he was music therapy for me growing up, because I have Classic Autism, and now I have accomplished many things in my life such as graduating mainstream on the AB honor roll from high school, have my finances, and bills in my name,
@CashPresley32 Hello, Cash Presley, Congratulations and good luck with the new baby and the recording contract. My opinion only, Johnny Cash had a wonderful voice early on, but smoking and his lifestyle left him with less of a voice. Waylon on the other hand, led a terribly drug filled lifestyle, but he never lost the sound of his voice. I saw both of them in concert and Waylon had cocaine around his nose, at least I assume it was coke and he was still wonderful. sj more
@CashPresley32 There is just something that is so wonderful about Waylon's voice. In his autobiography he stated that Elvis was the most beautiful man he ever saw and he said, "and then there was that voice." High praise. We have been blessed in our lifetime with many great entertainers. It's hard to pick one to be the best. I also love Dwight Yoakum, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Hank Williams Jr. and Andrea Bocelli. I have a grandson with autism and he's doing wonderfully, sj
I take care of my bills on time, if not early, take care of my appointments, I am engaged to the most beautiful woman in the world, and have a baby on the way, and I also have a chance for a major recording contract.
Well lets see hear the Grand Ole Opry started back in 1925, and over the years it had such an array of stars from Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Webb Pierce, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Marty Robbins, Bob Wills, Bill Monroe, Little Jimmy Dickens, Porter Wagoner, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Charley Pride, etc, etc, etc so do not tell me for fake Country it is. Little Jimmy Dickens as a matter of fact has been in the Grand Ole Opry for over 60 years.
@CashPresley32 That's a fact Waylon hated so much. He hated the "Nashville sound" so much he said he'd cut off anyones finger who played something "Nashville"
Sounds like someone told you a few fairy tales when you were young. Nashville's the country music capital of the world. And the New York Islanders are a JOKE
This was an awesome concert! My mom had taped it from the TV, and we used to watch it all the time. Thanks for sharing!
