This is great, Justin Vernon is a wonderful musical force. But those backup vocals suck. His band are mediocre while he is great.

I think they are just friends he lets perform with him, I don't really think he even needs them, have you heard is solo stuff? Incredible. He is clearly a nice guy. Musical genius as well totally agree.

Saw him/them last month blow Iron and Wine - a band/man I like - off the stage: they were hug-the-stanger-next-to-you brilliant. I've been carrying this album in my head and chest since (a cold) Christmas, and it was such a thing of wonder to see it live.

Immense music. Very rare that i buy an album and find every song on par with the previous one. The last time I felt this excited about music was when i heard Jeff Buckleys' 'Grace'. This guy is very very special, buy the album today if you have a few bucks spare - you will not regret it. Its already the album of the YEAR
