My GOD, today's music is terrible, they should go back to the sound of the 80s. Even the rap in the 80s was great. No wonder the record industry is going broke, its all crap music today, even metal, its all crap.
I too grew up in the 80s, I was in New Wave bands, and later in Hair Metal bands, and I wouldn't trade my 80s days for anything, the best time to be alive.
The best music, the best movies, best TV shows and to top this, rap and grunge was in the underground.
The 80s and 90s had a lot of great music. A lot of great bands, but also a lot of no-so-great ones who imitated others and just wanted to come along for the ride and some fast money.
These guys are a good example, a weak monotone song with ripoff u2 guitar, looking weird without a purpose behind it. No wonder they got mentioned in Pulp Fiction as a example of bad 80s excessive behaviour.
@girlie347 you make a valid point.. i have to say though, i've come to appreciate them a little bit more than I used to. they are not a one-hit wonder and still have several songs played on the radio after 25-30 years.. not a lot of bands of the era can say that
1. this aint noisy crap , wanna here noisy crap dear its the music playing now days thats noisy ,i was told once dont like it dont listen to it plain and simple! leave this to people like me that enjoy it like it and love it !
@stockholm222 Are you kidding me? i have respect and admiration, for old classics. My faverite Big Band artist, is Glenn Miller But the Eighties was the decade, with the best music. And not to be Rude. But, aren't you like over 105 yrs old?
Ok, it's time. Every period of great pop seems to be followed by a decade of not so great to shitty music, the mid to late 60s, early to mid 80s, mid to late 90s, then the last horrible decade of music in which retro recycling had to fill the void. Now they're deep into a retro kick of late 90s dance, when that peters out we might finally hear something new and actually worth listening to and buying. I'm picking up my guitar.
WOW!!!...Loook At A 20 Year Old "Reno" Shread Those Strings!!!....To Bad He Was Too Young To Handle All The Booze And Who Knows What Else (Sniff, Sniff) As He Was Just A Quiet Nerdy Guy From Liverpool in 1980, And 2 Years Later, He Is Jamming With Three 30' Somethings Across The Globe Who By The Way Had This Little Known Band (At The Time) Backing Them Up At Concerts Called...Duran, Duran!!!....Paul "RENO" is Alive and Well Today Because He Followed Doctors Advice To Cool It, And in '84 He Did!
An Inmortal clasicc of the new wave era.... i can't get tired of listening this master piece... you all most hear the version of eleven shadows... i'ts amazing
@Hovenaut I love the lead singer's hair styles that were unique and alien-like...but he contributed to the hole in the ozone layer right along with Daisy Fuentes and Bonnie Tyler! But I ain't mad at them...teased hair was a hairstyle shift as a result of 70's backlash. It was like saying, "It's the 80s and we hate all those flat haired Marcia Brady wanna be's that dominated the terrible 70s!"
Paul did an AMAZING guitar piece to this this song!
this song doesnt have alot of words but it really has alot of meaning it is simply beautiful and the true meaning of the word "love" is used so perfectly and correctly !
I LOVE this song it brings back those good ol memories Derek you are so missed, we were so young and in love. We had twenty two wonderful years together! ;(
If I was on a starship traveling to another galaxy, I'd want this song blasting on my starship speakers as I passed through the stars. Great song, musicians. It may be about 20,000 years before its time.

@edfallen8 YES, the most hits ever in the history of mankind! It is not the best music in the Universe but it bests at least half the galaxies out there. :)
Man I was a toddler in the late 80s, and those type of music played around me. 80s artist had to focus a lot on there songs, and it is why their music last that long even into today world. The amazing guitar playing in this song STILL lights my soul on fire! Has to be one of the most under rated guitarists ever. Perfect note choice and tone. Every time I hear this I wonder what they must have been thinking when it first came together during live rehearsals....what a lucky bunch of lads!
Yes this era was some kind of wonder, that just stays within one to the present, since music and words aren't the same as before, that makes you sense the appreciation of the time being in the 80's, and of course to what it is in time.
Especially when you consider that Paul Reynolds was just a kid. Too bad the gruelling touring schedule cost him his health. Record companies should treat great pop bands like the artists they are.
YES DA 80S WAS THE END OF A GOOD ERA THINGS WAS SO SIMPLE AND MUSIC WAS PURE AND REAL EVEN WHAT WE WATCHED GOOD TIMES GILIGANS ISLAND AND SO ON SHIT I REMEMBER THEM SAYING THINGS WERE GOING TO CHANGE WERE DA TIME MACHINE WANT A ONE WAY TICKET CLASS OF 86 IN DA HOUSE DIS SONG IZ SOLID WELL PEACE OUT ALOHAS ISLAND BOI OUT
@AchromaticAdulation I can second that, my friend! The cool clubs and women that were into this, as well as some other things that can't be mentioned.
Better yet, it was better to be in your 20s during the 80s. Then you could get in the bars, and you got all the 60s and 70s stuff while growing up too. Great times!
I got it even better. I was a preteen when this song came out, so I was able to listen to great hits like this, and not get hassled for watching the Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoons
My GOD, today's music is terrible, they should go back to the sound of the 80s. Even the rap in the 80s was great. No wonder the record industry is going broke, its all crap music today, even metal, its all crap.

@ssouxieQ - I totally agree!!!

Especially when you consider that Paul Reynolds was just a kid. Too bad the gruelling touring schedule cost him his health. Record companies should treat great pop bands like the artists they are.
