Waters and Mason lived together whilst at uni and used to play with wright, who was an ex-student. Then syd and a jazz guitarist named bob close joined them and they used to play regular blues kinda thing and syd later called the band the pink floyd named after 2 bluesman, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. Close later left and they begun their psychadelic take on music.
