I am all for rights of the LGBTQ community, and I believe in it with all my heart. But the answer isn't to hate on people that are not understanding. Don't you realize that you're doing the exact same thing that you're protesting? You're hating someone for being different than you. Gay and black are not on the same level in the civil rights issue. Gays are fighting for civil rights, but it's not the same fight as blacks were fighting before. Blacks faced way more issues - couldn't go into stores, use the same bathrooms, vote, etc. Gays don't have equal rights, but the rights they lack are much fewer than those blacks lacked. Gays are accepted by many people and their personal lives are definitely not as hellish as those of blacks before they got rights.

There is a reason it is called the OLD and NEW Testament. The OLD Testament exists for the sole purpose of historical records. The NEW Testament is God and Jesus speaking to us. This is where we should draw our beliefs. And they say nothing about homosexuality in the New Testament.
@MamaMario13 I want to point out that these were both from the Old Testament.. and after Leviticus. Basically, the Old Testament is a historical record. It is how we used to live our lives. We should be following the New Testament now. Romans and 1 Corinthians were written after Leviticus, and while I can't say for certain, they were likely inspired by what he had said. A lot of the books mirror each other and take their cues from one another as to what to believe.

I am all for rights of the LGBTQ community, and I believe in it with all my heart. But the answer isn't to hate on people that are not understanding. Don't you realize that you're doing the exact same thing that you're protesting? You're hating someone for being different than you. Gay and black are not on the same level in the civil rights issue. Gays are fighting for civil rights, but it's not the same fight as blacks were fighting before. Blacks faced way more issues - couldn't go into stores, use the same bathrooms, vote, etc. Gays don't have equal rights, but the rights they lack are much fewer than those blacks lacked. Gays are accepted by many people and their personal lives are definitely not as hellish as those of blacks before they got rights.

@MamaMario13 I want to point out that these were both from the Old Testament.. and after Leviticus. Basically, the Old Testament is a historical record. It is how we used to live our lives. We should be following the New Testament now. Romans and 1 Corinthians were written after Leviticus, and while I can't say for certain, they were likely inspired by what he had said. A lot of the books mirror each other and take their cues from one another as to what to believe.

America was built upon freedom of religion, but our founding fathers also drew a definite line between church and state. According to the CONSTITUTION, religion should not be able to interfere with two happy, consenting adults from getting married (whether they are straight or gay). @cold197 Michael Jackson did not stop being black. His genetic make up remained the same. His just changed how he looked on the outside. He got a plastic surgery, but he did not change his skin color. He had a disease that made his skin light. All of his brothers and sisters have the same disease, it just exceeded with Michael.

@reb5stun sorry,i don't actually know that much about michael jackson, all i knew was that in a jackson 5 music he had dark skin, then when he got older he seemed to be white - i knew he had plastic surgery, but i didn't know there was a disease that made your skin white - did he have plastic surgery to make his skin even more light? because i saw jermaine on another tv show and his skin was dark

Maybe Im wrong,but I feel like this should perhaps be made clear.Both sides take "being gay is a choice" as something different.I feel like the people on the right mean it as in expressing your sexuality and the people on the left take is as literally choosing your sexuality.Now I cant choose to be gay,but I can choose to express it ("live that lifestyle").And even if the issue is about how one chooses to express their sexuality,no one has the right to tell or force how one expresses themselves.

What they are implying is that gay people do not have the same equal rights as most straight americans do because we are different.
