  • Don't be fooled by the guy who posted this video. He is a con artist and charges people fortunes of money, promises big, and then delivers cars that don't work AT ALL (if he delivers them at all). I (and many others) got burned in a major way that has affected my life and marriage because I trusted this guy by the name of Paul Liddle. All I wanted to do was do the right thing and go electric. Check out coolgreencar.info

  • Unlike some posters, I'm all for electric cars. What I'm not for is paying many tens of thousands of dollars for something I could build from a beater VW Beetle, MR-2 or Fiero for a small fraction of the price.

They definitely got the Porsche vibe right though in the video; that Eurotrash music is exactly what I hear blaring out of every Porsche I see.

  • *YYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWNNN*. Yet ANOTHER "go green" gay vid with no information. How much does it cost? You say I could buy 5 new porsches? How fast is it? about the same in short runs? How long to charge it up? So I have to wait HOURS when it runs out? Yeah, that's "awesome". pffft. Let al gore live in a grass hut and ride a donkey to work.

  • I never see any of these type of car in video, where they are driving in the rain, or in cold weather. In cold weather the batterys will not last as long. What about snow? Or are these just for Sunday drives?

  • Jaguar recentley released an electric sports car, its big point was the on-board charging of batteries, well whoopeedoo, at last!

Solar panels, KERS and maybe (gosh) a small genny in the boot and you could have a full sized electric car with a 500 mile range

    Id buy 1!

  • Why would they do that to a 959? That's a collectors car. Just butcher a 911 and leave the 959 alone!!!

  • Want to give some MPG specs on this? or miles per charge? Destroyed a perfectly good 959

  • Our Porsches' with AGM cells go 100+ miles per charge, with a cost of about 1-2$ us, Our cars with Lithium Iron (LiFe) cells go 250 Miles+ per charge.

The porsche is a 911 with a body kit mad of fiberglass. We made the molds offf a real 959.

  • @ClematisReiss 100-250 miles on 1-2$ god damn that's good

  • @sawink1 It wasn't a "perfectly good 959"... It was running on a old and shitty technology called "gas"

  • @sawink1

    That "959" just screams REPLICA.

Looks like one of those 964 conversion kits.

  • Yea im sorry but the idea of an electric porsche really don't appeal to me. In fact I can't imagine some one who loves driving their porsche would ever even think of converting their car to electric.

  • See this is where u are wrong..

0-60 mph in 3 seconds for 200 miles for 1$! and this is why.... I agree, I lve the sound and feel of a real 911! but the rewards of the conversion outweigh it.... I gaurntee, if you come drive one of our show cars, you will want both! im sure, sold.....

  • @quickcooper61 Well at least it would be reliable :D

  • Comment removed

  • o my god they destroid some beutiful peaces of atomotive history

  • @MrBfisher971 dude you'd take first place in a spelling bee contest

    hahaha

  • @MrBfisher971 try spellchecker every now and then.

  • they look getto

  • gee thanks

  • dude, It's just because you misnamed your video. It should say "Electric Porsche 959 1200 Ft/Lbs of torque, Convert Yours Today!"

  • those porsches are fakes...they are kit cars i can see that from far away!

  • I am so getting this done to mine of the engine needs any real work. Good job!

  • geeeeez wtf :[ look at that GT hahaha lol

  • this is pure automotive pornography... porsche for ever !!! ^^

  • 1200lbs of tq. dont ya think at what rpm is important to?

  • Its an electric motor its from 0rpm to max rpm. Electric motors have a vertical torque curve. People always cry about battery range but batter range is meaningless. Simple solution is dont sell the car with batteries AND make them replaceable on the fly. So you pull up at a gas/electric station you drive your car in a building thats something like a carwash. A robot grabs the batteries out of your car and replaces them with charged ones. Problem solved and the ragheads can go eat sand.

  • To be fair, American oil companies make as much money as the "ragheads".

    Secondly it's a horizontal torque curve...not vertical.

  • Your right on both points but I still don't see why the ragheads have to make any money.

  • Granted they make WAY too much money, but why shouldn't they make any at all?

  • Its like led in paint. If you dont believe that paint companies should profit while kids die from led poisoning then you probably wont believe that oil companies should profit while their product poisons everyone. If you believe that the free market is flawless and the paint companies bare no responsibility after the sell. Then oil companies wont either.

  • You said they shouldn't make any money from anything,at all.

  • @gnoxycat The problem is not the "ragheads"(very racist comment), it is more the lobby of american energy. Those guys are the probleme of earth right now.

  • Oh, so you know already betterplace(dot)com? That project shares exactly your thoughts.

  • @gnoxycat Buy the car, rent the battery!

  • @gnoxycat Great idea - replacing used batteries with new ones. The replaced ones could then be recharged by the garage.

  • @logic2reason okay, 1200 ft/lbs of torque at 001 rpm

  • nice gt1 you got there, really rare.

  • and not a gt1

  • I really hope that wasn't a real 959 that was converted. I'm all for the electric car and even EV conversions, but it would be blasphemy to do anything to the 959, let alone something as defiling as replacing the engine. BTW why not use lithium iron phosphate?

  • The body lines are all off, I would be surprised if they were original cars converted to electric.

  • @1empyre LiPo bats are about 3 times the cost. I'd convert any Porche in a second if the gas engine is in their usual condition, leaking oil, worn out seals, blown piston rings, toasted clutch. Just in case you didn't look, it is a kit they made from fiberglass molds.

  • The electric motor? or do you mean the Engine we removed?

  • ok how do I make the 959 motor work with my old bug???

  • wow, that's a pretty big motor... how much does a motor like that cost?

  • The 959 has 2 9" diameter x about 12" length DC motors run in series.... Each motor costs about 1700$

  • hmmmm, that's pretty reasonably priced. is it hard to setup motors in series like that?

  • Not hard to set up, they are connected with a coupler, they have twin shafte ends. One of the motors must be advanced... its like having the pistons not fire at the same time.. the wiring can be changed in a paralel /series set up to increase torque, then increase top rpm/ torque curve... its like shifting gears.

  • proof we dont need Detroit to build us an electric car

  • Ha! Im from Detroit!, But these cars were built here in West Palm Beach... You should see the newer ones!

  • Come on!

EVs with DC, Zilla and SLA?? Theyre backyard conversion parts.

I'm sure there are better components available for cars they're trying to sell for over $100k

  • 1. i posted this vid years ago,

    2. DC may not be as great as AC to boot, but is readily avil..

    3. name me a better dc controller than a Zilla 2k

    4. we use li-iron cobalt... who eltse does this?

    5. what have you built toshow us up?

    thanks

    reiss

  • Gonna bite are ya!!

So because it was posted May of last year it's not an accurate representation? Put something up that is then!

-DC is just rubbish end of story, AC is just as readily available.

-iron-phosphate-based lithium-ion is cheap, better and readily available.

-You'd put that up against anything would you? LOL

My point is if you want to sell EVs in the 100k range then it should at least match the performance and range to the Tesla. You'll never do it with DC.

  • WOW - Never knew such a company existed

  • too bad those fakes look like shit... why not just make your own concept/car rather than a shitty replica. fail... total failure...

  • i own such a porshe and I get to score so many bitches everyday! Its great goddamn it!!!!

  • Thumbs down for tricking me into watching an ad.

  • It's not a real Porsche 959, it's a replica !

  • Ya..they probably would, just like they bought the EV-1s battery company out from under them

  • This car is awesome!...the oil companies should take notice

  • lol so they can buy the rights to it stop it

  • im looking at porsche ev sites ..all look kinda hokey and ive requestedc info...scam??????prices listed seem too good to be true....used porsche converted 45-69k...as compared to tesla over 100k with 2-3 years waiting list...

  • its real. well trade e-mails, and ill show you photos of the car and shop.

  • i don't know why people are being snobby about this. its wonderful. no more pollution. the cars run lightening fast and you don't have to support the middle east anymore. we will be independent of their oil.

If some guys need the "VaRoom" sound, well, i guess we can work on that, but to tell you the truth i'd be glad to have quieter cars on the highways.i moved out of my last home due to the noise from the expressway. thank you for carrying on with this electric car. i get it and i love it, deb

  • Can you or do you do this with any car? I saw your car on the news. very impressive.

  • i'm not into all the conversion crap.Electric cars should be built from the ground up. like the tesla roadster or the ZAP X

  • The Tesla Roadster is built on the chassis of a Lotus. It was not built from the ground up. The Zap! car started as a smart car... Built by Mercedes Benz... The Zap X is a "NEV" It only goes 35-40 mph!

The cars you see here are TRUE street drivers. The have between 1500-2500 ft/lbs of torque from 1rpm! We drive them in 4th gear, no clutch.

Now that your paying 4$per gallon, remember it only costs me $5 to charge this car, and it will go 200 miles on that charge! and 0-60 in 3-4 seconds

  • corection.the chassis was made by lotus FOR THIS CAR.same thing eith the design. and i don't think we are talking about the same zap. i'm talking about the SUV with 644 hp. no offense, bit if i would afford a porsche, i sure wouldn't give a crap about fuel bills; plus... why would i want a porsche that sounds like a train?!

  • Eltabby,

The Tesla costs around a new Porsche 911! A 100,000 euros is well over $100,000.

  • All those are kit cars!

  • As a owner of several Porsches over the past 12 years, this video made me want to vomit! Why waste a 959 to make into an electric car? I could see doing that to a 924, or maybe a 914, but NO not a 959. But the first car designed by Dr. Porsche was a Hybrid, The Porsche-Lohner. that was aroung 1905.

  • lol same shit went though my head... cept the 12 year thing.....

i doubt its electric or a real 959...... seriously a gt1.... if i saw an electric one in person i would fucking straight up pick up a metal bar and beat down the owner.

  • Im pretty damn sure these are kit cars. Who would waste a rare 959? I HOPE they are kit cars.

  • Whatever , if it works...

  • OMG... diet coke, fat free milk, smoke free cigar and electric porsche ! What's next?

  • Excuse my french, but...

What in the fuck is this shit, get off my internets, this is not a Porsche. fail.

  • electric huh? Last time i knew anything about Porsche, which has been my choice car for the last 20 years, they still have not made an electric car. Agree Borat seems a little more informed tho.

  • There some weird drugs being taken around the world. All you have to do is get on forums and hear some of the space cadets dribbling on. Quite funny really. Like Borat on acid. hahahaha

  • The video sucks. The music is bad and it contains no information.

  • Must suck being stuck on the ground. learn to Hang Glide, then Speedglide at 126mph, no speed limit, no cupcakes cutting you off, no police telling you what to do and how to do it. I hold 3 world records in Speedgliding, Manfred Ruhmer holds 50 World records. The cupcakes are on the ground.

  • Electric 959 ok, but the real thing is not legal in the U.S. on the roads.

  • im still not sure why you say a 911 with a factory body kit and 800 hp was not legal in the US?

  • BMW has the first auto to run on water, very cool.

  • 959 is not allowed into the U.S. anything you see in the U.S. that says 959 is a replica 959, Customs will take them from you. Paris hilton cant drive a moped, she's braindead:)There are other models that are not allowed into the U.S. nuff said

  • Do your research. You're wrong as well...

  • Bill Gates has 3 of them in impound. The fastest most powerful car on the planet. a woman set the world record going up pikes peak in a 959, not allowed on the roads in the U.S.

  • EGH! Wrong again. Google "Canepa Design"

  • Only certified to install upgrade supercharger. Why are bill gates 3 959 still in inpound at customs????? Show me, I hope your right because I will by plane ticket and have one here in a month, how much are they going for?, no DOT needed???, No emission ad???, 1100hp is the real 959, I did not know you can have a real race car on the roads in the U.S.:):)my 911 turbo is 3.2 lt, 3 speed, made from 2 wrecked 911s:)very quick.

  • Most people have no idea how to drive a rear engine car safely:)Porshe 911s are very deseptive giving you a false sense of security:):)The car will make the cornner, but many let off the gas and the engine flys out from behind, their not as safe as they feel:):):):)Thats how I got my 2 wrecked 11s, 5Gs each:0. 3.6 :)twin Ts is sweeter.

  • Dude, wtf are you talking about. Stop showing off and if you're so adamant about your cars just go drive!

Besides, it doesn't look like you've googled Canepa yet from what you just said. 1100hp my ass. Stock 959 hp is 450, and with the modifications Canepa does it goes up slightly ~500? I forget. Do some actual research before you spout off this nonsense.

Oh, and by the way, a 959 is not rear engined...it is MID engined....

  • Cool man, the only 59 I have seen was the one that set the world record up Pikes peak it was all wheel drive, I must have seen a different car:), they told me it was 1100hp, I didnt know. so you can have one here in the U.S. thanks for your help, dont get upset I only bench 400, and its not like I can reach through the keyboard and bounce you off the cement:)calm down cupcake SFOD-D

  • cupcake? lol! Stop ethuggin you twat

  • Perhaps you should take some of that money you wasted on wrecking expensive sports cars and geting NASCAR driving lessons! X-D!!! Sorry, mate, couldn't resist!

  • My bad.. misread your post. Somebody else had wrecked the cars.. apologies!

  • Raptorstarship - I agree 101%. I unfortunatley have had a very nasty experience first hand with exactly the same problem your describing. Basically the ESP couldn't handle the torque and I crashed the car round a country bend straight into a brick wall. Got a broken right shoulder for life - can't pick up anything too heavy with my right arm, and insurance won't pay for the car. LOL!
