You are so right--I cringe whenever I hear the tag line, especially because of the throngs of folks who won't know the difference. TNT--a bunch of dolts on all levels.
As an English teacher, it pains me to hear this tag line, "more movies, less commercials," which is grammatically incorrect. It should be "fewer commercials."
It is absurd that a national corporation is perpetuating the deterioration of the language.
When referring to countable things you use "fewer." When referring to more abstract things you use "less." For example, "Less love" or "less knowledge." As opposed to, "fewer kisses" or "fewer facts."
