  • There are only about 3-5 bevers in one colony so you might of killed them all.

  • Its funny how they destroy their own habitat.

  • Dude this is a nice Video. Where is this Land.Like were do u live?

  • did you ever try fishing there?

  • why the FUCK are you trapping beavers??? fkin hell....

  • @00Avenger17 the gov. hired him to clear them out of the area

  • problem with traps r it takes a long time 4 the animal to die.very painful.

  • @ducklamb1 Thats not true buddy Cnibear type traps kill almost instanly

  • ur right, many good trap manufactures out there.i traped mink and fox as a kid.many trapers today r inexperienced,as r hunters.beaver create great wildlife areas and should be harvested very carefully.if managed well, mink as well as muskrat will also habitat area.(fish, birds)

  • @ducklamb1 you pussy. i'd like to hurt you for a really long time.

  • Damb good fishin around beavers

  • dam nigga 5:28

  • Im not removing all of them, the state wanted the pond thinned out because they were damming up the creek across the roads. That beaver pond has been there for thirty years and it will be there next year. There is nothing wrong with regulated harvest. Not to mention the meat is delicious and i make a few dollars from the pelt. It helps out when your flat broke like i am. Its not all about killing, i really hate it when people label hunters, fisherman, trappers as Killers.

  • nice vid

u shuld get your own channel

  • i have one, pk066392 Check it out if you want. I have a bunch of vids i didnt post on here. Thanks for the positive comment

  • he has his own. . . dave asked him to post on his channel.

  • You know if you catch all of them their wont be any left to trap! Just some common since!

  • what's yer Quota.? if u dont mind my asking.

  • you can see it pretty well

  • some people not unlike myself are trying to teach our children how to survive in the wilderness away from the easy life of civilization. Our children deserve to have the knowledge of our ancestors. They survived and thrived on this earth hunting and foraging. The lion doesn't kill everything either, it lives off the bounty of the land.

  • wildernessoutfitters, This video is definently ok.

  • when going around ice. Its a good idea to have two 4x1" dowels, with a hole drilled, and a nail shoved threw, so it sticks out an inch or so, have these tied together, and around your neck.

then instead of trying to grasp for broken edged to pull yourself out. you have 2 handles, with picks, and just pull yourself out

  • I read that in Field and Stream, made good sense.

  • What do you do with these critters when after you trap them? You eat them? Do you use the fur?

  • mikehawk !!.....i wasnt talking to u, nor did i ask what your beleifs are.

i asked the young man a simple question, to which no reply.

  • What kind of traps do you use?

  • Great video, I never trapped Beaver.

Do they den in the pond banks? I always thought the just denned in the lodge. Anyway you are doing a fine job, thanks for sharing.

  • Yea, they will make bank dens as well as lodges. i think the young ones getting kicked out of the lodge are making the bank dens

  • do you enjoy killing?

  • No i dont really enjoy killing anything, but it is something i do, i have hunted/trapped/fished all of my life. I think that if i enjoyed killing i would be a sick individual. I respect all of the animals that i harvest

  • Some conibear traps would be nice to set up in their den holes in the bank.

  • might have already been said, but bust some of the dam out and set a 330 or noose snare with a sandbag or weight just ahead of it. THey will come fix it, they hear the running water and come check it out. Then bingo. Seams to work great here in SC

  • Look at areas were the ice is missing because they need air too..

  • you should release the cubs...

  • kill the beavers and you lose your gold mine, some think to think about, 1/5

  • dont plan on trapping the pond out, but they need controlled because the state does not want them spreading farther up or downstream.

  • well sorry but i was in a hurry, and it was very cold out.

  • looking back on what I wrote, I guess it came out a bit agressively.. Sorry for that, all I meant is that its better for your health to not do that and that its not fun to hear neither but its your vid and your health so I shouldnt criticise, to each his own I guess

  • haha freeze to death ive fallen though ice in a pond like that it sucked brr ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Pls. try not to shake and move ya camera to fast. Thanks.

  • Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a lot of fun.

    *****

  • how many beavers are you aloud to take

  • Not much of a trapper myself thanks for the good info. About the cold vs battery, I ust had an Idea. I wonder if usind a chemical hand warmer strapped close to the battery compartment would make it too hot. you don't want make the batter too hot or can explode but if you put say a folded sock or somthing against the camer & placed a hand warmer inside it you might be able to get some extra life out of the battery. Does anyone agree?

  • Try setting a #4 coil spring on top of the lodge after you tear into it a little bit. Use a cinder block on the end of some wire, and use a sliding lock ring to connect the trap ring to the wire. The beaver gets caught and swims down to escape, and the lock will niot allow it to swim back up. Just pull the cinder block and the beaver up the next day. IM me for more details

  • Good show man!

    Very useful info.....wtg big guy!

  • what do you do with the beaver after trapping it? Thanks!

  • beaver burgers... yum yum

  • we can trap mink in the uk! they are a pest!

we have reintroduced beaver but they are protected

  • @ Thedalley.

Where do you find mink in the uk?

  • all over apparently

  • the were brought to uk from north america in the 1920's to be bred for the fur trade since escaping they have done very well for themselve's in the wild!

  • not much of a beaver hunter, well you know what i mean. there is a joke there but, i am going to leave that one alone

  • Great vid ...loved the shot of the berry and you said if you watch my videos you'll know what it is...loads of info and tips..thanks!

  • I just want to say you make some great videos. Only thing I can say against them is to try for better focus. When i say that I mean in general. This vid I loved. Just not much focus at the end during the walk back. A nice sit down would be sweet. The Winter tree video I had a hard time telling too. It could be mostly YouTube. Anyways Love the Vids. Daves lucky to have such a well knowledged person helping out.

  • Oh boy smoked beaver rocks. Rice with stewed tomatoes and some beaver meat on top.

  • Have you tried using their skat as tinder?

  • I thought of that as well..chewed wood..through it's guts.. left in pellets...hhmmm..

  • before u all make jokes. can u eat beaver ? lol i cant get over my own question lolz

  • lol, yes you can, all of the meat is quite good eating. And the meat in the tail is a delicacy up north

  • oh wow, thats awesome.

  • Great Video!

  • great video! did you get any coons from you racoon trapping video?

  • yea, i got one from the same setup as last week, but i left my camera in my other coat. Season for coon ends tomorow :-(

  • Is it legal to shoot beaver where you're from?

  • herez a Tip 4 u.. they can jump FEET.. in the Air..

    B CarefuLL.....

the Muskcrat will go rite 4 the Juggler.!!!!!.

im kinda curious.. do u Have a Trapping Licence.?

  • yes, i have a valit ohio fur beaters permit.

  • good vid man.

  • cool video ..its better to purse a beaver like a muskrat and be sure to not over trap your area so theres beavers for next year.beaver tails r a highly priced source of food up north

  • beavers go to home school

  • what do you use the game for after caught? pelts? food?

  • The meat is good to eat, the pelts are sold to a fur buyer, and the skull either sold online, or i dontate them to my school for educational purposes. Not much is wasted

  • if you really want to trap a beaver, try ruffies........LOL i'm sorry i couldn't resist.

    my bad.

  • ★★★★★

  • All I can say is, don't walk on the ice if you can see through it! That is from experience.

  • there is nothing wrong with some responsible hunting/trapping. Im not the type of person to overharvest a resource

  • @pk066392

beavers are a "ressource" for you ... interesting.

  • ok ... i will learn

    LOL

  • ahahhah nice spelling.

  • Great job Pat, thank you!

  • great video keep it up

  • kool how they taste:)

  • Come on man

    Lets "Learn Together"

Thats what it is all about...

It isn't about cathing anything or not, it is about Learining Trial and Error come on give him a break, besides we should all be more conservative minded... ALL of us...

  • show us how to clean and skin them allways wanted to learn that do u do it like a coon?

  • im still learning to do it the right way, but basicle you split them down the belly from tail to lip, then you skin them like a blanket. When i get better at it i will post a video.

  • You go out, film yourself setting traps and then that day trap some game. Its obvious you don't pay attention because he mentions multiple times that he's caught beavers from this pond, so either shut up and enjoy the video or don't watch it.

  • Cool place, where do you live? State wise?
