And that's the kind of day it's been on September 1st 2011...Thank You Lloyd for 35 Years of Staying up for us to Bring us the Latenight News...You will be missed!!! Good Luck on your Retirement!!!
@higgy04 It was called 'Homage To The Athletes' and it was from the 1976 Olympics. May they have the good sense not to use that overused "I Believe" song from this years olympics on the news...
Harvey Kirck was CTV's solo news anchor for more than a decade before Lloyd Robertson came to the network. (Robertson was wooed to CTV from the CBC by a then-unprecedented $1 million salary.)
The dual-anchor format debuted on Monday, October 18, 1976.
Kirck retired on Friday, April 27, 1984. He died in 2002.
Lloyd Robertson said in an interview that his chair had to be boosted to minimize the height disparity between the two anchors. (Kirck was asked to lower his chair, but refused.)

Lloyd Robertson and Harvey Kirck were pretty much Canada's answer to Roger Grimsby and Bill Beutel over at WABC-TV in New York.

Miss the theme music. Does anyone know what the theme was called or was it just simply stock music.
It's interesting that it was the third story was a Canadian story. That doesn't happen much these days.
Awesome find.
