Step 8, I could be wrong but I don't think disabling UAC will boost performance. It's just annoying. It's a security measure to keep hackers from tinkering with your system settings remotely. I wouldn't do it unless your sure your protected from hackers. Step 7, I've found System Restore to be mighty useful over the years. It has saved me from having to re-format more than once. I wouldn't think about it unless you don't install/tinker with system settings much. Thanks for the tips!!

He missed a few steps in your directions; Step 1, after right clicking on drive c, click PROPERTIES, then the rest of his steps. Step 4, I have no idea what you mean by uncheck "program". I don't have that option in the tools tab. Is it really a good idea to turn off auto disk defrag anyway? unless your sure you will run it from time to time since this places files neatly together on your hard drive giving it better performance. Step 5, forgot properties again,then the ready boost tab.. cont..

the only way to speed up vista is to upgrade hard ware of your PC ..ram , graphix card, processor, hard disk ..the tricks mentioned here wont help much ..

the video is okay but the problem with this is that if you followed all ten steps, then you have just made your computer faster, yet ALOT more unsafe. there are simpler ways to speed it up without harming the computer though.

Start Menu > Type in "Disk Cleanup" > Files from all users on this Pc > More options > Clean up System restore and Shadow copies > Then ok.

Number 8 is totally stupid to uncheck or deactivate... If you'll do that, you will deactivate the sandbox in which internet explorer is running. The sandbox is a place safely away from your kernel. When you have a virus found on internet explorer it will stay in this sandbox so your system is safe and protected. Dont deactivate UAC.
