ya know.... its kinda slow. and dead. but a great arrangement. however, i've got to agree that folders are a straight up faux pas. thats what rehearsal is for.
Gah. This is so close to a perfect version of this song. They get so many things right, but both times the lead sings "To me you're like a grown addiction that I can't deny" it just sounds wrong somehow. Everything else is magnificent, though.
amazing, fuck anyone who says otherwise. for being in a choir setting, that was sung with a lot of "heart and strength." if you want the juiced up, over-dramatized version of every good song you hear, go watch american idol. it's much better sung simply like this.
Who ever just said that the lead is okay is wrong. He's AMAZING! He always is. Also, if you had actually seen the entire concert, then everyone would understand how much other stuff they had memorized. This was the only song they didn't dance around to. I love these guys! They're awesome!
@MKillamanjaro As my music teacher used to say, I would rather go see a choir that sings well holding music than one that stands up there forgetting words and music because they don't have it in front of them. It doesn't look extremely professional, but I would be more concerned on sound than appearance, it being a musical group and all...
i love this version...while others may find it less soulful, I feel that this is a different kind of interpretation such that the "soul" in the song was accomplished through the chorale arrangement...fantastic!
I loved how they integrated seventh chords into the music, towards the end of the first section. It sounded fantastic... however, the key sounded too high for the male soloist, and I think the song would sound better with just male voices.
The sound was good, and I have to say the female backup was excellent, and the backup in general was damn good. The soloist could have been louder, and am I wrong, but did he miss some of the words? In my opinion, it may have been better to intersperse the females and males so that the sound was more evenly distributed, but then again, I'm no composer. Again, the soloist was very quiet, also, he seemed like he was bored. The solo requires more force! Also, lose the books and learn the music.
Good work on the music as this is an extremely difficult piece. Vocal Point at UMSL did this and it was fairly difficult. Serously though. You can only left brain it so much. Left braining a song is like paint by numbers. Show emotion and let us hear it in your voices dont just crescendo cuz it says to. FEEL the music otherwise it is expressionless.
This choir is great. Someone get them to sing Popcorn by Hot Butter acapella, nobody has done the song yet on Youtube, but I can't think of a better choir to do it. Get that song on youtube....
He looks like justine timberlake. Oh I love him..hahah

The female singers are fantastic in this song, and the lead is alright. Acapella groups should NEVER be reading from music at a performance. NEVER.

@MKillamanjaro - I think it's part of the performance; like a prop.

Awesome harmonies, but NO SOUL! This song really needs to groove. This song is about sex...don't be afraid of it.

the choir overpowers the soloist in some parts, but he has a beautiful voice, clearly masculine, but still beautiful, and the choir is good as well
