  • Traditional depictions has him portrayed like one, and since I suspect art tend to imitate real life( and vice versa), so he probably is. He is more interested in centralized rule rather than negotiating with vassals like traditional daimyos.

  • so what is actually the stories.. i know that mitsuhide kill nobunaga, but what is the whole true?

  • Nobunaga was burned to death along with Ranmaru Mori in Honnoji. I guess Mitsuhide had enough of Nobunaga berating and insulting him. After Hideyoshi heard the news he immediately made peace with Mori clan(the one in Chugoku) and rushed back to kill Mitsuhide. After Yamazaki Mitsuhide was killed by peasants while fleeing.

  • As of yet there is no consensus on the reason for Mitsuhide's betrayl in Japanese academia. There are many theories, some of the more popular ones include

    1. MItsuhide simply got fed up with Nobunaga's cruelty.

    2. The exiled shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki conspired with Mori Terumoto and Mitsuhide.

    3. It was Hideyoshi's plan all along.

    4. It was Tokugawa's way to get revenge after Nobunaga ordered him to kill his wife and son to prove his loyalty.

  • Actually now it is confirmed by most historians that Mitsuhide's betrayal because of Nobunaga killing of a woman that resulted in a retaliation from another clan whom killed Aketchi's mother. Mitsuhide also disagrees of the methods of Nobunaga.

  • Mitsuhide took Yamazaki castle and captured Hideharu Hatano. The Hatano then surrendered if Hiderharu was to live. Aketchi brought Hideharu before Nobunaga, and Nobunaga had her crucified. The Hatano were angered by this and killed Mitsuhide's mother. Aketchi blamed this on Oda and the Honnoji incident happened.

  • @Kavino maybe it was just mitsuhide's ambition for power

  • @Juinor Go read "Taiko" by Eiji Yoshikawa. It is a MONSTER of a book and takes some liberties in parts, but tells the story rather well.

  • If Nobunaga had unified Japan, what would he do after words? Trade with europe, or create an empire?

  • I had just read in a book on samurai that Aketchi had become lord of a castle upon agreement that the previous lord be spared his life. But Nobunaga killed him anyway. The family of the executed lord retaliated by killing Aketchi's mother in turn. That's what may of set off the motivation for Honnoji among other things.

  • Hey it is a lot like Romance of the 3 kingdoms. Note they both have at lest over 9 serires.

  • when i got this video, i stopped playing cause after that my whole empire crumbled, =(

  • I love the nobunaga and rtk series

  • why everybody hates nobunaga in that history...and where is his sister oichi?

  • His sister was married to Shibata Katuie in 1582 in that year where Nobunaga dies

  • *drops my jaw* O.O but anyways i think he was foolish man but i cant believe that lady Noh does she really loved nobunaga?

  • Well in the first she didn't loved him but then years have passed she became much devoted to him....none knows about her death but in 100% of people know that she died in 1613 where Oda Nobukatsu cared about her when she was old no one knows about her..or some said that she sided with the Akechi in Honouji O.O

  • holy ramen it was a bit confusing!! XD

  • One of the many reasons why everyone hates Nobunaga is because of what he did (although it was neccessary) against the monks. Which was the symbol of religion of Japan back then the battle (more like Massacre (thousands of men, women, and children were slained) of Mt. Hiei. Mitsuhide was also against this, and although Mitsuhide had talent, he was ridiculed by Nobunaga (same with Hideyoshi, although he put up with it).

  • so mitsuhide akechi died by him and go to basara 2 they made akechi real scary it like it not really him but it him alright he had whit long hair and something like that.

  • Hideyoshi was trusted by Nobunaga, if not he wouldn't have gained any position seeing he was a peasant.

  • very nice video..its even historicly correct!

  • some believe it was related to nobunaga's earlier refusal to negotiate with a group of enemies who had taken hostages, resulting in the death of mitsuhide's mother.

  • What was the reason for Akechi Mitsuhide's betrayal at Honnouji???

  • what bloodhyren said about the hostages issue, and also the incident between mitsuhide and nobunaga druing the celebration after the fall of takeda, Mitsuhide made a snoby comment after not being included in the rewards and when Nobunaga heard him, it set him on fire and he start beating mitsuhide publicly. (accuracy of this story is yet to be determined, but the fact that something happened alogn those lines druing the celebration has been confirmed )
