@Paulo969 That's one of the touching ambiguities of OFAH in the Buster Merryfield era; Albert seemed to be a natural at telling these quirky little stories about his (mis)adventures "during the war"... if it had been anyone other than the core characters, they would have been riveted, amused and regaled by his tales!
If anyone wants to see what the docks look like NOW... search for Shadwell Basin on Google Maps, and use the orange man. You might recognise the flats
@fcukstrateduk No problem! Apparently, though I've not confirmed this, Nelson Mandela house is actually filmed at a block of flats in Acton, West London. I might try and find it if I get the time.
@steve99991 We Americans who know how eternal this series is should get 'on our bikes' and get the word out to our countrymen. Tell them to cut out watching stuff that's either black / white / old / young, stop being so puritanical about 'good' cops and 'bad' robbers, and to come off their high Hollywood horses and try OFAH on for size. No need for any US version, it's awesome just as it is. You know it makes sense!
That scene by the old docks is the best Fools and Horses moment, no question. Del's reaction to how Londn has changed is like a comic version of Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday.
I love the last scene. Its the only time where Del and Rodney really wanted to hear from Albert's war days. Such a lovely and sweet scene. Clever ol' Sullivan!
It was filmed in Bristol...
