I have a Lloyd's POS clock radio from the 1980s that deserves this fate...although I am either going to use a sledge or my car to demolish it, haven't decided yet.
On December 24,2006 at 8 o'clock in the morning, a young 14 year old boy by the name of Scott Jackson was found dead.Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his emails to see if she could figure out what happened.Turns out he was still signed into myspace. She found he had gone to sleep after he read and didn't repost a chain letter.if you don't repost this to 6 videos a girl with no face will kill you tonight. sorry don't wanna die
You smashed it??? Why??? My Grandma has one of these in her rarely used guest room (except it's made by GE), as well as an old Hitachi television, from 1979. When I go there, it's a blast from the past!
@TheSliderzone I dunno man, I think he is onto something here. Cinder blocks are the wave of the future. Upgrade from your hammer. Screw the alarm clocks! We will win this war!
I would like to add that the sound of the alarm itself seems to remind me of the old clock radio my parents had when I was but a little boy and I well remember being woken up and scared to death by that same gosh-awful buzzer.
I would like to add that the sound of the alarm seems to remind me of the clock radio my parents had when I was growing up. It had that same gosh-awful buzzer and I was scared to death thereof.
I hope MarantzSt153's comment isn't for me because first off, I'm NOT an idiot and I don't like to be called an idiot or any other type of name either because I get offended easy sometimes.
ThisIs2009: In case you can't guess by now, Ken is quite obsessed with clock radios and alarms. We all have our own peculiar interests, so I don't hold it against him, although the repeated questions can get a little annoying.
I'm trying not to ask too many questions though, vwestlife. If it is getting a little annoying, then I didn't know then either and I'll stop too. Sometimes though, I just don't know why I always get the feeling that sometimes no one leaves me alone when I don't want to be bothered.
LOL You got that right, I suppose, vwestlife. For some reason, I can't help but feel that I do feel kind of obsessed with alarm clocks and clock radios. LOL I mostly like the clock radios though and I would like to own one for myself someday too since I don't have one yet as far as I know as of for right now.
Oh okay then, ThisIs2009. Well, thanks anyway then. By the way, I just have a few more questions for you.
1. Do you own a standard clock radio for yourself?
2. What is your most favorite alarm setting on a clock radio? The music or the alarm buzzer?
3. Also, if you ever wanted to listen to the music setting on a clock radio anytime you wanted to, what are certain times that you would like to do so? Just wondering.
LOL Yeah. I know how that feels too. Sometimes I'm the same way myself too. The music and the alarm buzzer settings are great and all, but if the alarm goes off unexpectedly and the alarm buzzer or the music starts up with the volume tuned up high, it can really give you a good scare. LOL By the way, I have a question that I'm just wondering about. Maybe you may know. On a standard clock radio, which alarm setting is probably the loudest with the volume up high? The music or the alarm buzzer?
LOL Sometimes what shocks me as well, ThisIs2009, is if there was ever an alarm clock or a clock radio and the alarm would've went off while I was sleeping and the music or the alarm buzzer was pretty loud. LOL I bet that would even be enough to scare anyone from their sleep because some people wouldn't see it coming. I have to say that it probably does seem pretty cool though. LOL :)
These clock radios are purely outstanding and they're so awesome too. Too bad I don't have one of my own yet though, but I would like to get one of my own someday. It'll be sweet owning one of them. Then in the mornings when I wake up, I can have my alarm set to the music setting and I can wake up to my favorite tunes whether it is hip-hop, country, or rock and roll. LOL The clock radio is a must-have item to have in the household. I like the buzzer alarm, but I think I like the music better.
I have an Electro Brand clock radio that has a proper alarm and it also has one of those projectors that projects the time onto a clear wall. I wonder when projector clock radios started coming out?
Hey EncoreEnterprisesLLC, I have a question to ask you just for your own opinion about how you would think of this. On a standard clock radio, if there wasn't a volume adjust option to adjust the volume or anything like that, then which alarm setting would probably be the loudest? The music or the alarm buzzer? I'm just wondering.
Okay then. Thanks for letting me know because I was just wondering. So thanks for sharing your opinion with me. I have two other questions too for you in case you would know too.
1. Would the buzzer probably still be the loudest alarm setting on the clock radio even if the clock radio did have a volume adjust option?
2. Also, how come sometimes people go back to sleep whenever they wake up to the music setting on their clock radios? It seems like the music makes people go back to sleep.
Sorry for the late reply....the buzzer would probably be the loudest alarm if it has no volume control setting. My alarm clock doesn't have a buzzer alarm, but rather a volume control for the radio/music alarm.
Okay then. Thanks a lot for the info then and I really appreciate it too because I was just curious. That was also okay if you responded back a little late. It's alright. By the way, I have one other question too. When people wake up to the music setting on their clock radios how come it seems like the music sometimes makes people fall back asleep for some reason? I've been noticing that too sometimes. For some reason, the music sometimes puts people back to sleep when the music alarm goes off.
Okay then. Thanks again anyway though. I don't have my own clock radio yet, but I may have something in mind about getting one. They do seem cool to use. So maybe I'll be able to get my own clock radio soon sometime. They sound so awesome.
Just stop asking stupid questions and just buy one, how simple is that? today you have more types of alarm clocks than you can poke a stick at ranging from cheap simple ones with buzzer to Hifi ones that have Ipod Docks that sound good enough to use as your own home stereo so shutup and go to the electronic and make your selection on what you are prepared to pay for.
Well okay then. I will buy one soon and I was planning on getting one anyway. By the way, I have a favor to ask you too and I would appreciate it too. Please don't be saying anything to me that has certain offensive words such as "stupid" and things like that. I'm only just asking and I would appreciate if you don't do that next time. Sometimes I get a little offended easily and I don't like when people are rude to me. I'm only saying.
Pretty cheap... did they cheat and use the 60Hz AC waveform as the alarm instead of investing the 40 cents for a 2 transistor alarm oscillator circuit?
I still have my Radio Shack woodgrain clock radio with wireless phone from early 80's that I paid almost $200.00 for. Its 27 MHz Phone used to suck from interference, but now ironically crystal clear as everything modern is in the GHz. Phone has BUILT IN COIL ANTENNA..lol
Figure in another 10 years walnut will be back in style again. :)
I liked the '80s styling, but otherwise it was a piece of rubbish. I was going to donate it to charity, but I decided that not even a poor person should suffer with such a horrible clock radio!
Hey vwestlife, I have a question for you. On a standard clock radio, which alarm setting do you think is the loudest? The music or the alarm buzzer? I'm just wondering just for your opinion on that too.
It depends. Each particular clock radio has a different alarm sound. Some let you adjust the loudness of the buzzer/beeper with the volume control; others do not.
Oh okay then. Thanks anyway though. I do have two other questions though.
1. What if there was a clock radio that didn't have volume control that you wouldn't be able to adjust? Then which alarm setting would probably be the loudest on those types of clock radios? The music or the buzzer?

I have a brown wood grain alarm clock like this and half the parts on ity failed but ive been doin some hacking on it the clock doesnt work and you cant turn the radio on and off so i jumped the power switch so the radio is on and i wired the power to the alarm Buzz switch on the volume control and it now runs off batteries and has an external speaker jack that I added, i might put up a video on it but i dont want ppl sending hate comments i hacked the shit outta mine
