I just got this phone as a gift from a friend and it will be my frist smart phone and I think it's quality phone . I haven't had a cell in years so this phone despite being a year old is gonna be GREAT for me. I also can upgrade to OS6 if I want but I heard OS 5 is still pretty decent for the 9650 model.

i just got my Sprint blackberry bold 9650 as an upgrade from my shitty android last week. after going through 5 phones within one year (both models made by samsung) i decided i needed a break from android altogether. what's the point of having an android phone that can't handle apps, when the apps are the main selling point? i'm not one for a lot of apps anyway, and they'd just sit on my phone or end up deleted. i'm loving my bb so far.

But iPhone and Android are not beating Blackberry when it comes to hardware, email, and battery life. But at the same time I have never been the person to use tons of apps on my phone. Meaning that I am not looking for apps accept for twitter and maybe facebook. Other than that. All I do on my phone is text pretty heavily, don't make calls that much, send emails quite often, make twitter and facebook updates, and make phone calls. They are awesome phones 100% and nothing could ever beat them.

Personally, I think blackberry is doing fine just the way they are. They are doing something different everyone else is not doing. Being original when it comes to terms with operating systems and everything just about the phone. Same thing with windows phone 7. There both operating systems that both took time with their operating systems. Meaning that they are not sloppy and just copies or look a likes when it comes to iPhone operating system. Yes they have great crisp screens...

i have the evo 4g and im swapping it out for the blackberry bold 9650. I have heard so many good comments about blackberry and also how good this phone is. I'm getting rid of my evo because i already have an itouch and it has many of the same features. Also another thing about the evo, is that the battery life is HORRIBLE! BB all the way!

Blackberry=Business

I sent my friend an email and his evo 4g took 5 minutes to received it which is no big deal unless you are a business user. He sent me an email and I received it in about 10 seconds. I am a business user and 5 minutes could mean the differnece between a happy customer and an angry customer or getting that new account and losing it to a competitor. When android can compete with that I will quickly abandon blackberry for one of the many bad azz phones that run android.

@x0ticShwty A few years ago I would not have thought of moving away from BB but every year I get closer to making the move. I have had issues with my phone and had to take it to the sprint store several times. Each time I had roughly 2 hours to play with the evo and the shift. I found the touch screen accurate and responsive. 4G internet speed was really nice. I guess I'd need more time with esting emails, contacts and calender features. Battery life is also important. I am on my bb all day.

I just signed up with Sprint 3 days ago.. I was torn between this and the EVO af first.. but after testing out both phones for awhile, something about the Bold just felt right... all I can say is, It's a perfect phone match for me. I still admire the EVO, but this phone, is definitely for me. :)

I love blackberry!!! I've hhad one for years now, and with the right carrier...NOT SPRINT, you will get great internet reception. The B.B. (blackberry) is a great device that is small enough to slip in your pocket, yet gives great performance when put to the test. The beginning of this is great, but then he seems to be verbally bashing blackberry devices....this is not professional. Just my 2 cents worth! Shame on you man.

Go the the Sprint website. Many people tried Evo and then traded it back in for this.

Its not flashy but you cant beat BBerrys easy to get to everything fast utility.

I have the 8530. They're both awesome but judgeing by your name you seem young. The 8530 is probably for you. Its smaller and lighter, has media keys on top. Great texter. The Bold will give you a better camera with flash, a screen that has a higher resolution than an iphone3gs, world capabilities and bling factor.
