  • Holly shit! What's the final score?

  • @marcusmontreal haha it was fucking sweet, but the Oil still lost it in OT

  • Damn im looking for a video of this where they show the coaches reaction...

  • Gives me chills

  • WHat'd Mick Magoo do? HAHAHA

  • It wasn`t 100%% Stefans fault, puck bounced over his stick, still he shoulded get a goal from that

  • are you dumb...yeah it was he could have shot 3 feet away from the net....no one asked him to skate to the blue paint....wtf its completely stefans fault

  • I like the sens

  • Lawl, It clearly was not stefan's faught. The puck jumped on him. I am not a Dallas fan, I love the Red Wings, So im not just saying this.

  • oilers still lost this game.

  • Stefan = over rated

  • lolololollol

  • Comment removed

  • lol brain fart

  • that puck was pounching

  • what's great is that the oilers still lost. hahahaahha

  • lol i remember this

  • hemsky is oilers best player and ovechkin is best on ice at the moment

  • That is by far the most embarrassing thing I've seen in my life.

  • who won in overtime??

  • dallas

  • lol u suck

  • I watched it 100 times and it is still awesome but the other videos are better.

  • Hard to believe stefan was a first overall pick, bad draft year there

  • Not really, Henrik and Daniel Sedin were picked after him and Ottawa picked Martin Havlat at 24th.

  • Nucks beat wild 6-2 :D

  • Crosbys the best #1 pick ever.....

  • idk, you got the penguins losing games on purpose to get lemieux when he really should have been on the devils

  • wow...haven't watched this since last yr or something..

    but yeah..

    STEFAN YOUR A DICK HEAD!!!

i like the stars, my fave team, but STEFAN FUCKED IT UP BAD TIME!!

    newhos.

    later people

  • stefan is an idiot

  • stuff like that happens!

  • Stefan is a dumbass

He tries to do some moves instead of shot in the empty net

Hopefully for him, the stars won that game!!!

  • actually i've checked it out again after commenting his a retard or wateva, but he isn't. he wasn't actually trying to do any moves..the freaken ice jumped the puck in the air when he was trying to hit it in...which isn't a move..so it ain't his fault.

  • I just realise it too....

  • Wow. Talk about blowing your top. That announcer went crazy.

  • To all those people who say the announcer was right on the money... Are you kidding me, the ice right there sucked so bad, that just shows you how Edmonton treats it's ice... And to all of u who say that he should have shot earlier, no one would have shot earlier, When you are skating up you arn't thinking the puck is going to hop off my stick so I better shoot it sooner. You people are stupid.

  • They're stupid? No. Have you ever played hockey before? More importantly have you ever played in net? By the end of a period the goalies mark up the ice by the net so much that you almost have to expect it to bounce. It was at the end of the third period. On any arena its like that. Stefan was being too cocky, didn't think, then lost the puck. I agree with the announcer. That kind of showboating does not belong in any sport. If your a professional that act like one and make sure you win.

  • Your a fucken idiot, 237 NHL players were interveiwed and 87% of them siad "Edmontons ice" was the best. Only 1 person out of those 237 players siad it was the worst (stefan) so please stfu you know nothing fagget.

  • well maybe...he said that cause it was the ice that fucked him up on that shot in the video..if the ice was still smooth and not as chopped up, the puck wouldn't have jumped when he tried to hit it in.

look at the video again if u don't believe me bout the puck jumping up...

    very unlucky of him.

  • Actually, I believe that Edmonton is known for their exceptional ice

  • yeah, i'm not an oiler fan but I have to admit they do have arguably the best ice in the league... its the last minute of play in the 3rd period... of course the ice condition is going to be poor.

  • stop it at 5 seconds u see it jumps over his stick because he had his stick in a bad angle

  • That is by far the most embarrassing thing I've seen in my life.

  • Yes, the puck bounced, but the utter STUPIDITY was passing the puck BACK after! If Sefan just protected the puck in the corner, time would have run out!

  • Nice racks Ladies!!! I can't say it enough!!!

  • o ya..it did have a crack in the ice..maybe not 100% an excuse but at least a good excuse..seriously check it out..it bounced from nowhere

  • go stars, you still lost

  • Actually, they won in a shootout.

  • Eh, the ice had a crack. Because if you look at it he doesn't even touch the puck and it bounces.

  • THAT is AMAZING...and I don't mean that in a good way...GOOD LORD!!!

  • LOL, BRAIN FART

  • I saw this live, I laughed for about 5 minutes.

  • ahaha me too! i was laughing so hard i missed hemsky's goal... but i saw the replay it was a nice goal! ahaha oh man!

  • The funny thing about this is, Stefan ADMITS later he saw the bad ice. So there's no excuse. Ferraro is right, and guess what people? He played on Stefan's team!

  • I could have made that shot from the hash marks...totally his fault! The commentator was right on the money...the whole overtime period could have been avoided...wake up STEFAN you are in the NHL...pros dont make those kinds of mistakes.

  • Stefan was in the right. He was doing what any smart player does. Wasting time, and ensuring the winning goal. Wasn't his fault the ice sucked ass right there, it looked like it just bounced up on him.

  • any smart player would have known the ice sucks ass right there and would have made the shot at the hash marks and enusre the win...like CROSBY

  • How can you defend Stefan for missing the empty net?

I mean, with 10 seconds left, he really didn't have to waste time since NO ONE can score two goals in 10 seconds.

  • i agree with nappateemu

  • I watched this video from another point of view and laughed my ass of. Then I saw this and noticed that the puck bounced just before he hit it. There's nothing funny about that.

  • Dallas stars suck, red necks in dallas don't like hockey, they don't deserve a team

  • Kyrielle I 100% agree with you. Ray Ferraro yelling you should me embarrassed Patrike Stefan. Of course he is, we dont need you yelling about it. I hope he gets fired for being a moron. If it weren't plays like that in the NHL what would we be talking about.

  • Stfean should get a trophy...LOL

  • "That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, Ray Ferraro you should be embarrassed for what you just said. That does not belong in the National Hockey League."

The commentator is a complete moron, its clear that the Oilers ice is execrable and that Patrik Stefan just got incredibly unlucky.

  • People who say that he should have fired the puck from the blue line are retarded; you get more chances of missing if you do that. Stefan did what every NHL player would have done; get close to the net to ensure a goal. It's the thing to do when no one is around you!

-Chance of missing if you shoot from the blue line: 1/100

-Chance of missing if you shoot when you are 2 feet away from the net: 1/1000000

  • I don't get why people are railing on Stefan so hard, it wasn't his fault. He was making the smart play. If you've got no one around you and have an empty net, the SMART play is to walk it in so there's no chance of fucking up and missing from the circle if you shoot it. He just got super unlucky; that announcer is a dick. He wasn't 'hotdogging' it at all, he was just walking it in like he should have.

  • oilers suck

  • "that does not belong in the national hockey league." Who are you? Hockey players aren't frickin' robots they make mistakes. I've been playing hockey for 12 years, i know its supposed to be automatic be still, you mess up. Take it easy anouncer.

  • haha, whatever. he can laugh about it now, because the Stars won in shootout. yeah, he plays in the most skilled tier of hockey, but mistakes happen all over the place in the NHL too. For example, some penalties can be considered mistakes, no? Just because he messes up this one play, doesn't mean he deserves to be kicked out of the league. Besides, it wasn't his fault. Plus, in the NHL, pros don't keep staring at the puck when they stickhandle; they look at their targets. Give him a break.

  • what do you mean it wasnt his fault? when you get an open net you shoot the puck in you dont let it slide in. he should have fired it in the second he got it on his stick. and he cant laugh about it now because the oilers got a point out of it. letting other teams get points is a bad thing.

  • I don't understand how people can defend the guy i mean at the end of the game the ice in the crease is really really bad so that's why the puck hoped off his stick.Another reason why he is an idiot why shift the puck to the backhand when he had it forehand and just had to shoot it.Like they say keep it simple.

  • Yeah, bad ice. NHL ice is horrible.

  • exactly cuthbert11. couldn't have said it any better.

  • Are you kidding...he should be embarassed, he plays in the most skilled hockey league in the world and had a break away on a net with no goalie and missed it...enough said

  • He taps the puck in easily without the puck hitting the raise on the ice. Most embarassing he has seen? Ferraro clearly didn't look closely at the video.

  • He taps the puck in easily without the puck hitting the raise on the ice. Most embarassing he has seen? Ferraro clearly didn't look closely at the video.

  • Ferraro took this one kinda hard, aparrently he had alot of money riding on this game. lets just say one of his limbs will be broken soon.

  • Patrik Stefan (the guy who missed the goal) was drafted 1st overall in 1999... wtf ?

  • bad ice, not stefan's fault, check the puck as it takes a very weird bounce on the ice

  • All you stupid kids who think they know hockey MUST know that it's common knowledge that the Edmonton Oilers have the best (Smoothest) ice in the NHL. He had no excuse for missing that goal. Furthermore, there was NO NEED to take it to the backhand. Stupid cocky attitude messed him up.

  • That's right. Edmonton, my home town, is #1.

  • anyone who has actually played hockey knows that a puck can hit a rut in the ice and jump right over your stick.

the announcer may say that he's be around the game for 25 years, but he's obviously never stepped on the ice himself. this is a fluke event, not a disgrace to hockey.

  • I think it's you who is clueless to say that Ray Ferraro a retired hockey player that played 18 seasons in the league and played on the same team with Stefan the Atlanta Thrasher has never stepped on the ice.

  • haha, well you do have me there, i didn't know who's voice that was. still, shit happens and i think he was a little harsh on the guy.

  • Pathetic

  • PATRICK STEFAN!!! U IDIOT!!!

Dallas better have won over the overtime...

    bloody idiot

  • beginning of video - white shirt - nice boobs - who's she?

  • thats sad.

  • In 1932 A Girl was Raped And She Said Hei Do Laki Before She DIed. IF You Dont Repost This In 5 Topics She Will Appear By Your Bed With Glowing Red Eyes And Stare At You Until YOu Fall ASleep

  • the fix was in on this one. FIX FIX FIX FIX FIX FIX

  • just shows how cocky the dallas stars are

  • the defense thought the game was over

  • it jumped over his stick

    wasnt his fault

    just bad luck

    who won the game

  • you are right, it did jump over his stick...

    BUT STILL!!!! ARGH!!! lol

  • i agree with odub, where was the defense from Dallas ? their gonna have to play better than that.. if they wanna make it past the Sharks or even the Ducks

  • Check our videos

  • He should have shot it as soon as he knew it would go in. He didnt have enough confidence and was to soft on the puck. Canucks own 7 in a row.

  • it wasnt Stefan fault.

why did jump right on that time ?? and HOW ?

    BAD LUCK !

i almost dont watch Hockey matches, but i think that little jump is not common.

    am i right ?

  • Cant beliveee! xD

  • even if the puck did bounce he didnt need to take the puck right to the side of the net. should have shot earlier. he was showing off and owned himself.

WHO ENDED UP WINNING THE GAME?

  • dallas in the shootout

  • that guy is gonna commit suicide.HAHAha that sucks

  • the whole reason it's stefan's fault is he should have never been in the situation where it could bounce over his stick a simple shot a second earlier and its game over. I watched the whole game and he was definately being cocky and it cost him. And those people saying he's not worried about it cause he knows hockey, his coach Dave Tippet tore into him and said he should be embarrassed and i think he knows something about hockey.

  • Poor guy

  • whos that commentator trying to put Patrick stefan down, The ice was bad, What bout the dallas stars allowing HEMSKEY to score that game tieing goal, Where Was The Dallas Stars to back up Patrick Stefans mistake

  • that was ray ferraro he's awesome but a know it all

  • LMAO, YESSS I AGREEEE WITH STEELGAGE, That made my morning, WOW, i just feel bad becuz Patrick Stefan will be on the highlights forever for the Wrong Reasons, I think best Damn Sports Show Should Redo There top 50 Outragous Moments loool

  • I totally agree its not his fault the buck jumped in a strange way off the ice

  • The announcer should be embarrassed for his comments and apologize to Stefan. This replay video CLEARLY shows that Stefan did nothing wrong. He was moving his stick correctly to put the puck into the net when the puck mysteriously jumps up off the ice surface. It just hit a bad spot. This would have happened to ANY player in this same spot. I repeat, to ANY player. Stefan did NOT screw up.

  • Umm...if you are a professional hockey player playing at that league, there is no excuse.

  • yea i watched it again and it did pop up... it really isent his fault. just some bad luck

  • I think This shld wake him up and motivate him to try 10 times harder then he ever did to get his reputation back up. but thats up to him

  • The ice is partly to blame, but he made a small mistake of walking the puck in slightly away from the net and then trying to redirect it in at the last second. If he had walked it in **straight** toward the net (LIKE OTHER PLAYERS HAVE DONE), he wouldn't have even had to redirect it, and if it had bounced it wouldn't have even mattered.

  • He should have directed the puck toward the net as soon as possible. Directing it away from the net and then trying to tap it in at the last second is just asking for trouble.

  • its there point of redemtion for mcgeough's screw up

  • Can you say "Professional Rookie"? Read my text: Empty nets are NOT to be missed!!..This was funny as hell, it made my morning!! LOL

  • Can you say "Professional Rookie"? Read my text: Empty nets are NOT to be missed!!..This was funny as hell, it made my morning!! LOL

  • that indeed is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in the game

  • I heard about this from my husband and never got a chance to see the it. Thanks for the video!

  • UnGraceless are you joking me..that's like saying if you get hit by a car it's your not fault and not the drivers because you were crossing the road..

and i'm pretty sure he was just getting the puck in close so he could just shuffle the puck in..so he could not miss the net..he just got unlucky..

  • If you are crossing a busy highway where you know the speed limit is high but you are going to chance it (and you can see the cars whizzing by), then yes. It is your damn fault for getting hit. Other than that, I can't see how your metaphor remotely makes sense. It doesn't matter his reasoning for getting in close. If he went in to take a shot at the net in the crease, and was suddenly shocked by the fact that the ice was uneven, well....I guess he got hit by a car, right?

  • i know it's been said a shit load of times..but the announcer is a fucking goof

he should be ashamed of himself? and this is the most embarrasing thing he's been in 25 years of "pro" hockey..i think it's time for him to get a new job..

    are you kidding me..

stefan just got an unlucky bounce..the ice was pretty choppy down there..

and for hte people who say he should of know it..b/c he gets paid to and he's a pro..

  • OH MAN! He's gonna hear from his mistake for a loooonnngggg time! I really feel bad for him :/

  • he will be lucky if his coach dosnt make him practice on empty nets for the next few days

  • I agree with UnGraceless, but it was still pretty ugly... Feel sorry for that dude D:

  • There are a few things I grew up knowing about hockey. And I haven't played an NHL game in my life. One. A good passing game is what will win a Stanley Cup, and icing is for sissies. Two. You never ever shoot in the crease if you don't have to because the goalies have been chopping up that ice since the game began. So you can bet your ass that if I know this, some idiot that gets paid to play knows it. The puck bounced. He should have expected it.

  • He absolutely needed to be on the goal line when he let go of the puck, I guess. What a doofus.

His career has a punchline, now.

  • To je kopyto ten Patrik.

  • jesus, give the guy a break hes only human, and with 5 seconds left they shouldnt have needed the goal blame the other 4 guys if anyone

  • Every players make sometimes fattaly mistake. I mean that we sometimes need some fun in this sport :)

  • A moment OF humility

  • HEHE i quote hemsky

"It's not like I missed the net, I saw it was bad ice and I had so much time so I just tried to carry it all the way to the net. As soon as I put it on my back hand it jumped over my stick. Not much I can do about that."

  • i know how that feel...

  • this guy will never play hockey ever again. WOW. this is simply not acceptable at this level but then again !

  • i guess puck bouncing is not acceptable at this level as play as well

  • I was at that game. Absolutely unreal! I can't believe what a cocky display Stefan puts on, only to blow it 5 inches from the net. How stupid....

  • In my native language you call these people ''PENDEW''

  • pwnt

  • HAHA oh my thats so damn funny, he fails at hockey. He should just quit.

  • You never, ever, ever, EVER wait to shoot the puck when yo get to the crease. That ice is so chopped up it's guaranteed to go over your stick.

  • too bad the stars still won rofl

  • Lotta people also aren't giving Stoll credit as well. He was following pretty damn close behind Stefan regardless of the fact that it was a for sure goal

  • The Miracle in Rexall.

  • WHAT BULLSHIT

  • check out the rack on the girl in white!

  • haha yeah. almost better than the rest of the vid

  • Blapped a putaway

  • Dallas won anyway, since Edmonton is garbage.

  • you mothers vigina is garbage

  • SHUTUP FAG

  • Hilarious

  • flipping amazing

  • that was so bad it made me think it was fixed, but then again there were only two seconds left. What was he thinking, really?!!

  • holy fuck thats just embarresing fully agree with the comentator. disgraceful

  • Stick to soccer, fifa boy. Everyone who knows hockey knows this wasn't his fault at all. Unless he made that bump in the ice.

  • yeh i see the bump. this isnt houseleague. u do something like that in the NHL it should be understood that ppl are are gunna come down hard on you.was just embasessing

  • u missed the game play view, all u got was the replay, but still this clip rocks

  • all it would've took was a little wrist shot, seconds count....

  • great hockey...but I that announcer needs to relax and back off Pat Stefan. he was trying to take as many seconds off the board as possible and not risk a long shot when the puck took a fluke bounce. he didnt try to skate by the net or showboat.

  • r u retated if he just put the puck in the net the game would have been done. embarasment to hockey man

  • i guess he just lost some fans. lol

  • I can assure everyone Stefan doesn't feel bad about this. Why? Because he actually knows something about hockey and knows he did nothing wrong. It's called bad luck.

  • lolololololololololol ur funny bud did nothing wrong. thats something a 5 year old would do. get real

  • It blows my mind how stupid some people are. There was a bump in the ice that made the puck jump over his stick. What don't you understand about that? You can watch it happen clearly in the video.

  • hey shit happens.blame the other 4 guys that let hemsky go in on the goalie alone. hey ray the new rules dont belong in the nhl

  • I can't believe there is a single person trying to argue this was a fuck up. You can see the ice was fucked and it bounce over his stick. Should he have whipped out a file and smoothed that out before sliding it in? Wankers.

  • wow its so easy to for everyone to say Patrik Stefan sucks when 75% of you never wore a jockstrap in your life

  • Nice girllllllll

  • to all you retards who think he shouldnt be in the NHL, obviously you've never been in a situation where you've had a bad bounce. Happens in all sports, quit being little punks about it

  • if you cant score on an empty net you should not be in the nhl it DOES NOT matter how bad the ice is if you cant make that shot you should be kicked out

  • he doesnt deserve to play in the nhl
