When I look at recent video´s of sepultura I still believe Max and Iggor were the backbone of Sepultura. Hopefully they will keep providing us with this real hardcore metall music in the coming decade. I´m not interested in the reunion of Andreas Kisser and Max Cavalera, but I do am looking forward to buy the new Cavalera Consiracy album!

@SpiritMolecule1 I beg to differ buddy. You've obviously never heard of bands like Municipal Waste, The Absence, Havok, Arsis, Obscura, Warbringer, Decrepit Birth, Abysmal Dawn, Evile, Xentrix. All of these bands are fairly new and all can play their ass off. Just because metal isn't mainstream anymore doesn't mean that there aren't good bands.

Merciless from the Absence? classic Decrepit Birth- Ignite the Tesla Coil? another timeless epic in the vein of Death or Suffocation. Evile's -We who are about to Die is also amazing. Obscura's new record is also amazing. Not sure if you'v actually heard any of these bands or maybe just writing them off cause they are new.

@SpiritMolecule1 Lazarus A.D is also another favorite of mine. mediocre isn't a word I would use to describe any of these bands. they all play with prowess, intensity and heart. I would save that word for bands like Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Nickelback and newer Deftones. These bands are metal as all hell. Maybe it is because metal has evolved into a whole different entity and your not willing to embrace it. That is cool but by no means are they lousy.

Max was the soul of Sepultura. He created the vocal texts. Igor studied the tribal drums. Their influence was great especially on the albums Chaos AD and Roots. Two of the greatest metal albums ever, in my opinion. The Cavalera Brothers were of great importance on the succes and sound of Sepultura. Max left and Sepultura´s sound became different. Not better.

Sorry but you just can't leave out the other original Seps... especially Andreas Kisser (and i don't mean to leave out Paulo Jr, but i don't think there would really be Sepultura without Kisser. He's just a major part of what Sepultura is all about).

So my point is that no matter how nostalgic we get when seeing the Cavalera bros playing some of the "classics", you can't just say that they ALONE are the real Sepultura.

Andreas isn't even an original member. there was Jairo T before him, Andreas, was just their roadie then. yes he was a major part of the band after Jairo T left, but Igor and Max will always be the heart and soul of "Sepultura" regardless of who is playing bass or lead guitar.

and you said that you just can't leave out other members, well that's exactly what Max wants for a reunion. every sep member, even Jairo T and Derrick! but Andreas and Paulo only want to reunite as the "classic" lineup

I think that the folowing considerations should be made. 1-Sepultura is not enought as they were when I start to enjoy metal. 2-Slayer is the only musical band that deserves the right to say that themselves are part of the metal moviment. 3-Some people start to call slayer's songs as grindcore, but they represents the real metal spirit and they are the deepest soul of the trash metal. 4-the havy metal moviment is good but trash is full of a lirical energy. 5-How I miss my teenage time
