  • That's a shame is it's in such a state of disrepair. I saw the Alex Harvey Band there in the '94. It's a perfect setting for open air concerts. I hope the Amphitheatre is restored to its former glory.

  • what camera do you use?

  • @McEnhillPaul I use a Canon 600D and a Panasonic SD60.

  • That is a damn shame that place hasn't been maintained. What is wrong with the useless idiots at Glasgow Council?

  • @davidgrahamscott Yeah it is a shame, hopefully they will do something about it soon. There are renovation plans proposed.

  • @AbandonedScotland Yeah...as soon as some corrupt bastard at the council gets a backhander it'll happen. Why does Glasgow neglect so much of the city and its history? Greek Thomson buildings falling apart and tenements crumbling. Strange how many places in Europe were rebuilt after WW2 and done brilliantly while we just destroy what we already have!

  • Amazing d(*_*)b Wouldn't surprise me if I dream about Kelvingrove's tonight...

  • @qubenzispsyaudio Thanks, did you dream about it in the end? :)

  • @AbandonedScotland Not that I can remember of. Though I had a bunch of almost lucid dreams since. Is there a connection? Perhaps :-)

  • I love this. I remember seeing bands there in the late 70s and early 80s (Clyde festivals and Rock against racism). It was a great place to be. Somehow even in all it's decay it is still a magical place and you have captured some of that magic in your film. Beautiful. Thank you.

  • @keekabo Thanks for saying so, yeah it really does feel like a great place. Hopefully many more bands will take to the stage here in the future :)

  • Keep them coming

  • @quillworts I definitely will, I hope you're enjoying them :)

  • BEAUTIFUL!ヽ(´▽`)/

  • @hirosshi0831 Thanks! :)

  • Love the concept of your videos. And your music taste is right up my street. Keep it up.

  • @carterusm Thanks! I love post rock and ambient music. There really are some fantastic musicians out there.

  • great video*****

  • @keg64 Cheers Keg :)

  • Another amazing video guys , well done !

  • @raydvd Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the vid :)

  • O_O Amazing Video!! :O My compliments!

  • @Uzbazur345 Thanks I appreciate you saying so :)

  • nice use of archival footage as contrast

  • @DON434 Thanks

  • What a beautifull place,i loved the old footage and i truely hope that they do renovate it to it's former glory :)

  • @darrenwalshsock Thanks, yeah it would be great to see it renovated and back getting re-used.

  • they should reopen the band stand and have it completely renovated.

  • @sdeary1 There are existing plans to do just that, I believe the council are reviewing the application and there will be a decision made in March so fingers crossed :)

  • @AbandonedScotland good stuff its a shame to let it go to waste, was a nice spot back in the day

  • No beauty remains.

Delighted echoes have e'en fled away-

Now creeping things with gossamer wings

Take the stage to dance and sing.

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1 Thanks really beautiful comment as always :)

  • I like watching your vidz, coz you realy get a feel for the lonlyness of abandonment, and the life the old place clearly used to have before it.

  • @TheWombatppc Thanks, that's really what I'm hoping to achieve so that's great :)

  • watched this and hundreds of memories just came flooding back! cheers so much for uploading!

  • @BobJ93 That's excellent always good to have some old memories of the band stand :), I hope it really does get restored and can be used once again.

  • great just great workk

  • @matatoros2 Thanks! :)

  • Very nice once again. The old footage with it was just perfect.

  • @tatiebogle Thanks I really appreciate it :)

  • amazing yet again. do you have one of them tracks for your camera

  • @LukeAndJema Yeah I have an indiSLIDERmini which does the job and isn't as expensive as other sliders I've seen.

  • Don't suppose you can ID the band(s) in the flashback? And are you using a specific pre-set in Looks? And if so, with any tweaking, or just "as is"?

  • @MarkDayComedy The first band in the B&W clip is Zero Zero! No idea who the band in the colour clips are?

  • @MarkDayComedy Yeah the first band is Zero Zero and the second band is called the imprints, both original clips are in the description :). I have custom looks in Magic Bullet Looks for each of the videos, the presets are great though for just starting out.

  • Another great video. Thank you :-)

  • It's a beautiful eerie feeling I get when I watch this video. There is so much history inside the video. Bravo!

  • @nygrrl99 Thanks I really appreciate it :)

  • Shared.

  • @CuteCatFaith Thanks :)

  • again another great video...liked the old footage of the past days...nice touch that..and you have the dolly shots down to a tee..perfect..excellent.

  • @dick2478 Thanks really appreciate the comment.

  • Great video again, nice to put in some old footage of the past time.... !

  • @urbexperience Thanks, yeah the old footage is great to see how it once looked.

  • What surprises me is the properties that go to waste. Most of the ones I see are only decaying because of a lack of maintenance. Keep up the good work!

  • @atlantech1966 Yeah it would make sense to re-use buildings instead of letting them rot away.

  • Thanks, a great reminder about a place that is dear to the hearts of many Glaswegians. The cost to bring this place back in to use would be very small in comparison to other things that the council waste our money on.

  • @jimbangles Yeah it puzzles me why it's sitting derelict when it's right next to a university and could be used for so many different events!

  • @AbandonedScotland - Perhaps a small group of interested citizens could appeal to the powers that be to allow them to clean up the place for small local events?

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1 I believe that's already in place, the council are reviewing the terms of a renovation. I just hope it happens because a few times there have been proposals but they have fell through.

  • @AbandonedScotland - Like so many things these days, it will be available money that dictates the outcome.

  • Thanks for the continued support!

    - Arafúra

  • @DemoColorScheme Thanks for continuing to make great music Michel can't wait to hear more! :)

  • @AbandonedScotland

My pleasure! It's worth it seeing people wanting to use your music for their own creations. It does really bring a smile to my face.

  • Excellent short film, we're you one of the pogoing band members of yesteryear? Keep up the good work.

  • @roddyk05 Haha unfortunately not Roddy but I really enjoyed seeing the band stand in use. Thanks for the comment.

  • Very good, what do you use for your tracking shots, or do you do this in post?

  • @CanmoreVP No I have an indiSlidermini to attach to my tripod, it's not perfect but I can get a shot after a few attempts generally.

  • Nicely done, good combination of images and sound

  • @bsidez Thanks :)

  • If they fix it up, be sure to make an update video comparing these videos to the finished product.

  • @Amiduffer I will 100% make an updated video if they manage to fix it up, unfortunatley there's been several plans but none have ever come to fruition.

  • I like how you have the flashbacks with the current picture.

  • @LKathyRunkle Thanks, I was glad to get permission to use it so I could show what it looked like and how it is now.

  • too bad that was abandoned, it has character. For some I bet it holds great memories. Great video!

  • @VampMovie1 Yeah there's been many bands who have played there so the older generation will have some memories of it.

  • Simple pleasures slowly fade away...

  • @atlantech1966 That really does sum it up, people used to come here to enjoy listening to music and now it sits and rots as people walk by.

  • Something as simple as an abandoned bandstand comes to life in your videos. Great footage, capture techniques and editing comes together in another beautiful video. Thanks for sharing your talents! Ps: I ordered a slider on your recommendation. I can’t wait to use it!

  • @davidegg22 Thanks really appreciate it, let me know how you get on with the slider David I look forward to seeing your vids :)

  • Magic Video as Always,Loved it,Many Thanks Mate!

  • @Wallabytrack Thanks man :)

  • Thats great you got footage of what it was like when it was in use, it's almost like ghosts of the past.

But it does seem odd that the surrounding area is so well maintained, but that's been abandoned.

  • @LarryBundyJr Yeah it's just had several years of neds spray painting and slowly vandalising it which is a shame. Hopefully it will be restored as it's right next to a university and could be used for several things.
