i have a dear friend (a black man) who was in the wrong place at the wrong time in birmingham alabama. he was facing life without parole. the two other gentlemen he was on trial with went to prison..my friend was found not guilty...the fact is, a black man can and does get a fair trial in birmingham. just because you are found guilty doesn't mean you didnt get a fair trial...larry was found guilty because he is guilty

Larry is a fool, the people that have voted in his successor who runs from the same line as him are fools as well. Can't wait till I graduate from UAB so I can get out of this bassackwards city.

I say this to Melva: Ms. Langford would it be racist for you to be tried by 12 black people and found guilty of slander against a white man? Is it always going to be racist when a black guy is put in jail?

Unfortunately, the city of the Birmingham had nothing to do with the affairs of Mayor Langford. The things that he was convicted of happened with he was a member of the The Jefferson County Commission.

I mourn the loss of Bham's Mayor Larry Langford. With his intellect, agressive, and courageous leadership no one can fill his shoes. This is a major set back for the citizens of Birmingham. I hope that It doesn't take ten years for the next mayor to achieve the goals that he has set for the city.

intellect? You must be kidding. you are obviously a shrill for Larry and the other theives. Larry's goals were dumb. The Olympics? You have to be kidding me. So since he was not guilty of corruption while the mayor do you beleive he should somehow get a pass? Do you not realize he stole from YOU? Because of him and him alone your sewer rates are among the higher in the nation.
