yes, it is a good tablet for sketching and yes, it has pen pressure sensitivity but not twist and rotate options like stand alone wacom tablets. If you plan to buy one - try to get a quicker CPU, 1.8 or 2 GHz and put in as much RAM as you can, it will help your photoshop to manage more layers without slowing down
anybody knows?>??? i need a touch screen for working on photoshop..on pictures......is tablets laptops good enough ..or i should go up to wacom cintiq
@salvadoraugustus I've recently read that wacom cintiq is a lot better for drawing than tablet PCs but they are costly. I want to buy a cintiq but since it's too expensive I'll have to buy a tablet pc
Do all M200's come with the itty bitty 32mb of video memory? I'm considering getting a tablet pc when I get some more money, for mostly graphic design and photoshop work... Would you reccomend it? Or a different tablet pc? I can't afford much at all, so that's sort of the reason I'd get a used m200.
what do you mean by half pc and half tablet? its a notebook with touch sensitive screen. if you are looking for just an active tablet then try on wacoms homepage, any cintiq will do.
Would it not lag if there was 1 or more GB of ram? Also I'm getting this laptop what's the best drivers for the screen touching? I'm new to tablet laptop, could you provide a link? Thanks. And amazing sketch, you make it look simple..
with 1 gig of ram the delay gets shorter, but the real limit is the processor speed and the picture resolution. with relatively smaller files there is almost no delay, with higher resolutions it gets visible. you can find tablet drivers both on toshiba homepage and on wacom homepage. try both to find the best for you. thanks
I looked this up because i wanted to see how it works because i was getting one for Christmas and that is AWESOME the way u drew that car there that is a very cool application!!!
When you say, load the Wacom driver correctly, isn't it just running their install, or is there something more involved, I'm going to be ordering 1 this week... I even found someone who's loaded OSX on it, so it's a double bonus for me.
Wacom driver had more fine settings. But it was time ago and I'm not sure of it. Well, there is some lag, it's more visible at large files with many layers, or with very big smooth brushes.
yes, you do. M200 has 256 levels of pen pressure sensitivity, though not as much as the wacom Cintiq family, it gives an excellent level of control over the painting process. Photoshop comes with native support for tablets, You just need to install correctly the Wacom driver for the M200
There seems to be some lag between your strokes and the laptop. Is it bad, is it the video recording software? I'm considering getting one used off of eBay instead of getting a Cintiq 12wx (as I really desire the portability).
Getting a Cintiq you can plug it to the most powerful PC getting no lag at all. But here you have an extreme portable tool. For me it is worth of more than the tiny lag it has sometimes. Get one and try it yourself. You can always sell it back on ebay. My advice - choose one with fastest CPU possible (I've seen more than a 1,6GHz), and upgrade the memory, at least 1Gb: it costs nothing and much gives more fluidity.
the program is a common adobe photoshop, not even very modern. I am not a professional designer, and this video was just intended to be a practical demonstration of the notebook, i was selling on ebay (-: Anyway, thank to all of you for your comments
Great video. Do you think it's a good tablet for drawing? Also does the pen have the pressure sensitivity features?

It must be a little bit annoying to have to keep your hand behind the screen to keep it propped up like an easel.

not sure if you still check this or not but do you get pen sensitivity on the M200? for settings in photoshop to rely on pen pressure.

dos this program come with the tablet?
anyways its brilliant! good job!
Paulissunshine 3 years ago
the lag depends on the file size, due to CPU power being a bit low. Anyway with 1 GB of RAM it handles 3000-4000px without any noticeble lag
