  • I have small kids in my house I dont want a pond 2 deep any suggestions .

  • hey T, just like a swimming pool you can put up barrier fences arund the pond. contact your local pond company for more options.

  • Sorry, I don't mean to be a killjoy but that pond is kinda ugly. It looks very fake/"Disneyland" to me. I much prefer the more natural Japanese/Zen style ponds than this style.

  • can you tell me what kind of paint you used for the bottom drain pipe

  • hey K, not sure, get in touch with Danny at Wet Thumb Frags, he can answer that question.

  • I would so swim with the fish!

  • Nice pond the check valve in the pond I thought you have to keep them fairly clean so they work? ?

  • hey W, its been months since I watched that video, refresh me with your concern?

  • hey man i was wondering for the pond liner, is there a way to fuse together the black tarps because i see people overlap them all the time, but wouldn't that have water just drain out of them?

  • hey S, I dont know and I agree it would leak. consider contacting a liner supplier to find out.

  • Wow very very nice.

Lol@ Jim jammin out at the end!

  • wow, it looks really good :) i would have went with plastic for the pond, instead of rubber, to prevent from leaks, but very nice, well done :)

  • That pond is beautiful!

  • amazing job

  • just curious....

does dan have a youtube channel or online show like la fish guys ?

  • hey J, Dan does have a You Tube channel and I know he has talked about video.

  • Thats totally diferent from my project method. I would lay the rocks onto a bed of mortar and not just lay them dry, filling in gaps afterward. In your climate you get away with it, but in frosty old UK, the ice would blow that lot to pieces. Looks like a good liner, what did you use as underlay - I couldn't see any in the video.

  • top quality pond

  • NICE!

i really like the pond because its simple. ive seen other videos where the pond is toooo complex and way toooo many rocks in it and it doenst look that good. but i really like this pond. i also like that theres no rocks in the bottom of the pond. i dont really like seeing rocks in the bottom of the pond, thats just me.

    great vids jim.

  • that turned out so cool i would love to have that pond haha.

  • That is a really nice pond.

  • hi jim would love 2 see how it would look a night if could get some pics of it. plus r u goin 2 be servicing the pond?

  • Hey C, dont expect further video, this was the construction of a pond. this was Dan's job not mine.

  • Jim all I can say is wow Dan take's alot of pride in his work and has a good eye for detail. It speak's a lot about you as well that you have a good eye for great people and product's and that's why your the best at what you do. Can't wait to see what project's you or Dan does next.

  • thanks, i was waiting for this episode. It helped me a lot with my pond project here.

  • Another nice, clean job. Is there a cycle time for koi ponds ? or is it pour and play ??

    Good work all around.

  • MrT, there is always a cycle.

  • Wow that looks fantastic. How much does something like this run Jim? Definitely want something like this when I move back to CA :)

  • hey L, i do not know. you may want to ask Dan or contact your local pond service company.

  • TheExoticFish . com loves you !

  • Hey jim looks good, do have a question, is evaporation a factor? I'm just curious, great episode.

  • hey D, just like any open body of water evaporation will be something that does occur.

  • Thanks Jim

  • Do you have to worry about water changes due to elevated nitrate levels on pond systems?

  • it looks really good, is there going to be another video of when there are fish in the pond?

  • Hey A, no, this was the construction of the pond.

  • Jim, can you give us a ballpark figure of how much the whole system costs?

from digging, rocks, liner, filters, labour?

  • hey X, i do not know. you may want to ask Dan or contact your local pond service company.

  • Can Koi live in those hot temperatures?

  • lol

    its you

im a fan of your videos.
