  • 4:37 You can tell how frustrated he is with that woman!

  • if people want abortions to STOP they should INCREASE the education about sex so that teenagers and young adults will wear CONDOMS and TAKE BIRTH CONTROL and then won't BECOME pregnant when they don't want to and then won't have abortions!!!!!!! for god sake, it's SO SIMPLE

  • "information on relationship building"

Such as, women should not make more than the man, women should stay home and take care of the kids (kids that MUST exist for a marriage to work), and that if you date anyone that Jesus doesn't approve of, your relationship is doomed for failure and sin.

    "accurate information on STDs"

Such as 'anyone with AIDS is immoral' and 'you WILL get herpes'.

    "accurate information on contraception'

Such as 'BC pills cause breast cancer'.

    Stay classy, conservatives.

  • It does not matter what type of sex ed is given the results will still be the same. Those who won't have sex have already decided so and same for those who will. It does not always led to negative consequences as these programs depict. Teens have already made up their mind on way or another regardless of what type of little one week tax wasting programs you decide to implement.

  • Let's all think back to what we did during the sex portion of health class. If your like me you didn't pay any attention and just made jokes with your friends or slept while a guest speaker was attempting to scare you from having sex by going through all the costs of a baby, failure rates of condoms, and showing pictures of STDs. We had homecoming soon after this and I can tell you very well that my friends and I did not adhere is this "message".

  • When 14% of kids are having sex at school, it makes you think: What type of teachers are there in these schools? Where are the parents? My kids will NEVER do that because I will never give them the CHANCE to. At the same time, I will make sure they have all the information they could ever want about contraception. I think that rather than abstinence education, the money needs to go into parental responsibility education.

  • @GDOBSSOR Oh yeah, because your precious baby won't have sex because you 'know'.

  • @GDOBSSOR government shou,ld not take the role of parnets. ulttimately i have to admit kids will use their own free will . but parents need to teach their kids comprehensive sexuality and not be naive about their children and sexuality. I think some parents just turn blind eye on this matter... you just can't

  • At my school a morbidly obese teacher was talking about self control. They obviously had none when it came to food. lol Being obese is just as unhealthy if you ask me..

  • Wow, I love how Mrs. Huber just ignores all studies - except of course the ones they do themselves.

    Are you kidding!?

That's what happens when religion permeates politics.

  • Virginity is one thing at 15. It's another thing at 40. Becoming sexualized too late (or not at all) in life may be just as psychologically and socially problematic as becoming sexualized too early.

  • @amperro very true

  • abstinence is gay

  • well right and wrong. Teens already have sex when they're not ready. Abstinence only just attempts to discourage the behavior while contraception classes encourage it.

  • As a lifelong Catholic, the Church authority and its lackeys are no better than the subculture forces they are fighting against. No outside force should ever have the authority to restrict or force any part of our nature into imaginary moral absolutes (Church) or stereotypical subculture forces nor issue any judgement/pontification/coercion because we are people, not binary code...

  • Whoever chooses to be more/less mature and wish to be more/less: 'chaste', heterosexual, free, monogamous, clothed, gender stereotypical should be free to be who they want to be. Sexuality is one of the best of several key parts of human nature. All people should be free discover/develop themselves in that way freely. The only limit to this freedom is should be the preservation of another person's freedom and the presence of a person's ability to consent...

  • Any kind of exploitation of another person against his or her wishes/will/consent or of one who is too immature to give consent in the first place is a violation of his or her human right to freedom of choice for herself and therefore is inherently WRONG. Human rights, not arbitrary oligarchy whims, are the guiding light for true freedom… BOTH sides are trying to scare and bully all its folowers into being unenlightened, stripping us of our individuality in the name of influence and power…

  • Control behaviour, especially raw nature, and control the person. Both sides wish for us to be obedient children or dumb sheep, with the only difference being that the Church has the audacity to openly and proudly embed this as their mission.should be that simple. Being sheep is the greatest villian to the spirit and freedom, which must be retained at all costs. Do good, but love God, not the Church.

  • 14% of teen are having sex AT SCHOOL

  • It's really interesting how she thinks abstinence only works although the places where its taught have the highest amount of STDs and teen pregnancies. I lived in Spain and someone asked me if Teen Mom was a true show and if that actually happens a lot in the US. I said yes and he said how could they not know how to get pregnant? Dont they know how to prevent that and what sex is? Obviously this women needs to educate herself before she thinks she can educate others...

  • this would have been more effective if dan and rachel hadn't been as smug and sneering about val. it made them so much less endearing. anyone with sense can see that val is clearly a complete friggin tool who hasn't got the slightest idea about how to deal wit the problem of high teen pregnancy and std rates. also they kept on interrupting her. why? people need to hear her so they can see how utterly bonkers she is. all that needs to be done with these people is to give them enough rope.

  • I think the dude should stop being such a douchebag, shut the fuck up, and let the lady talk.

  • 1:40 - So, it's a conspiracy?

  • 0:27 - That's MY school! Freaky.

  • Im not sure what my state policy is but i think the sex ed at my school is very effective. We started with a week of videos about how shity STD's are, then a week going into details about every concievable contraception (including videos on how to use it, and where to get it cheeply) then we spent three days doing worksheets about how fucked up our life is gonna be if we get pregnant. There hasn't been a pregnancy in 3 years.

  • tell em 50 sheckels a head, i'd be generous and pay more, but i'm poor and dont much care bout capitalism anyway.

  • It seemed that the abstinence only woman was reciting lines she'd memorized before the show. She probably didn't hear a word either Maddow or Abrams said.

  • They should tell them everything. How hard it is to raise a baby, how much you have to go through to get rid of an STDs, what happens when you get non-curable STDs--especially HIV, what kind of emotional trauma you can go through if it turns out you were being used. They need to be honest and say that abstinence IS the only 100% way to not get pregnant or an STD, but they need to talk honestly and openly about other options. Sex is human nature. You can't stop it.

  • "When I evaluate myself, I always turn out awesome!" Damn right. Abstinence only education might scare kids while they are single. But when they're with someone they like, and they're young and horny, they are going to do go where their libido takes them. Some kids aren't ready, so they choose to wait, but that rarely has anything to do with the bullshit spouted by the abstinence only programs.

  • @panaboys7 I'm Buddhist.

  • "abstience education don't work - no shit!?" it's like putting a bowl of candy among five year old telling them not to eat it and the walk out the room, those fattos are gonna eat it!

  • Abstinence only!!! yeah because when my girlfriends on me I'm going to say no. It's completely within my self power. It's not as if the teenager" sex-drive is stronger than the material the teacher taught to them about never having sex. Spock would applaud this move.

  • Abstinence only. It's totally counter productive and harmful. The empirical evidence clearly shows that.

I really don't get it, why would you want to reduce the number of sexual partners in youth? Sex is healthy and an important part of what it means to be human. Do these people want to regulate human nature? Quite Orwellian, theocratic even.

The best way to improve public health in terms of STD prevention and teenage pregnancies, sexuality has to be taken out of the taboo sphere.

  • 2 on 1 isn't fair. I am thrilled that the chast lady defeated both of them so logically and compationately.

  • I believe the abstinence program is working, and shouldn't be cut at all. We need to inform your students to look at the alternative, and be pure. We need to inform our students about intellectual design, and still respect the Theory of Evolution. We need to run these liberals out of office, and my bigoted Republican friends.

  • @jshjamaar Yeah it's working despite countless surveys and logic saying otherwise. We should educate them on both sides but the program is called abstinence ONLY

  • @jshjamaar We need to teach them flatearthism, and how to predict future from the motion of the stars. They must know how the homeopathic miracle water somehow cures diseases while being absolutely useless. Kids must learn about the mystical energies in pyramids and crystals while also studying middle-age quackery and modern medicine.

  • you're saying that's not me in the photograph? I don't know what makes you believe that's not me; i take that as a compliment, though =)

I've never had cyber sex. well, maybe when i was 11 and curious about how the whole sex-thing works, but since then: never again. I'm in for the real thing only now =)

i'm not interested in your semen, neither does the thought of having your children/any children at all turn me on. so, still don't want to have sex with me? =)

  • Mehlwurm18.. I can't because, I don't allow air-heads

gets the "royal seed" to make my baby. NO AIR HEAD

gets the "royal seed" to create my heirs. I'm not saying

your an air-head, in fact thats not even you in the pic.

See folks, I told ya, im very hard to decieve but your not.

Thats why I asked…who tricked you? Yea you, not me.

Most guys cybersexing is not with a pretty woman fool.

It’s a 742 lbs hairy man your sex chating with dude, lol.

    Not a pretty women, lol.

  • I'll rather practice abstinence by creating a strong relationship than to be switching relationships every year like other teens. Where was this program when I was in school?

  • Read my comments, in the view all comments. Also, hear Jason's talk to teens "Romance without regrets" from my link. There Jason makes an excellent presentation proving what we already know in our hearts (but won't admit) that abstinence does work. I'm in my 15th year and NO Hiv, Aids, Costly Child support that cuts your check to 99.80 a week. Abstinence works and the girls are signing up, so guys are fighting it, lol.

  • @whotrickedyou

    hey! let's have sex! =)

  • Comment removed

  • Abstinence only education is actually more dangerous for teens because it deprives them of information they need. Instead of telling them "if you're going to bang, use a condom", AOed teaches "if you bang, all your body parts will fall off (or whatever Victorian era nonsense). It doesn't stop kids from having sex, but it also prevents them from getting protection for themselves because they don't want their "educators" to "dislike" them.

    Abstinence only education is crap.

  • Think i'll allow the movies, culture or crowd to trick or deceive me? How about you? Who is deceiving or tricking you? Is it the movies, music, friends, sleaze sites (the leaders of lewdness websites) a boy fiend? Ladies, the truth is, if you ever become the "victim" of a life long, no cure - STD was the frog worth it? Or should you wait to marry that special dream prince charming?

(Here's a hint, skip the frog, “ribbit” lol).

  • @whotrickedyou I think people should make up their own minds. You don't go around saying that its someones fault for catching the flu because they were too close to someone who was sick. Also there is no such thing as the perfect prince charming, everyone has their good and bad sides. People also change with time. You can't expect everyone to stick with the same person especially if their ideas and wants change.

  • Finally, Someone Fucking gets it. Now stop with all the fucking taxing to support this shit. If the entire country could get this maybe i wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for my tabacco.

  • This is why i liked my high school. they never said shit about abstinence all they did is teach you how to use contraceptives and avoid std's

  • Well why's valerie need to even worry about abstinence? It aint like anyone wants to fuck her.

  • Why aren't the parents teaching their own children about sex? So much sexual dysfunction out here. Anyone come up with the bright idea of teaching the kids about LOVE yet? Especially the part about LOVING yourself. I've noticed that when you LOVE yourself then the rest sort of just falls into place and sex becomes the last thing on your mind.

  • @futbolangel02 while I agree that parents should be teaching their kids about love and loving yourself for who you are, im not sure what a class in love would be like and if it would be effective. Class rooms and schools are good at give kids facts, like the facts about human reproduction and what the dangers are about having sex. In my sex ed they just talked about the fact, not about love. I'm not sure what facts about love and about how to love yourself could be in a class like that.

  • @futbolangel02

of course. And we can also teach how to give oneself an awesome handjob- lol :) but really that would be a much more comprehensive approach to sex ed

  • I read an article regarding this issue and the first time I read it, I was appalled at how can the govt just throw away money like this. There are more productive programs to be funded. I don't support this program even though I'm abstinent myself. We can't no longer afford to be ignorant of the physical and emotional consequences of sex because AIDS/HIV isn't a joke and neither do STDs. We need to have open conservations with our children or parents. Education is so powerful.

  • Behold the very cause of an explosion in teenage pregnancy and STDs, the promotion of sexual ignorance.

Really, why do they want the teens to abstain? No secular reason for it, valid secular reasons against it.

I don't think it is in any way the responsibility of the state to interfere in the personal lives of teens. Public health is best served when proper sex education is taught (contraception and condom use).

Abstinence only is the political indulgement of pure religion, as clear as that.

  • That fucking smug bitch from abstinence side... fuck off. Facts hurt eh?

  • I doubt that any of these three have even READ the study.

  • @cantbefooled Yeah... those states with mandatory abstinence only education have the highest teen pregnancy and abortion rates. So umm, stop lying?

  • @mj9collins - Well why do they have the highest

failure rates? Well, is simple (think) they didn't

not refrain or abstain. If we teach don't drink and

drive, then they do it anyway and crash, whose

fault is that? The one who taught them not to or

the one who took the action? Its called personal

responsibility. That's why you shouldn't be fooled.

  • @cantbefooled Because abstinence only education DOESN'T WORK. THAT is why the states with the highest funding for these programs have the highest teen pregnancy rates and abortion rates. IT DOESN'T WORK. IT IS SIMPLE.

The states that realize it is bullshit have lower teen pregnancy and abortion.

The retarded states (like Texas) who believe in this have higher teen pregnancy rates and abortion.

SIMPLE FACTS!!! SIMPLE EASY TO SEE CORRELATION. STOP INVITING THE WASTE OF TAX $

  • In Holland nobody preaches abstinence and the teen pregnancy numbers there are much lower then in the US.

  • i dont understand spending money on things like birth control pills or condoms.

when all you really need is a little self-control.

  • Think i'll allow the movies, culture or crowd to trick or deceive me? How about you? Who is deceiving or tricking you? Is it the movies, music, friends, sleazy sites (the leaders of lewdness websites) a boy fiend? Ladies, the truth is, if you ever become the "victim" of a life long, no cure - STD was the frog worth it? Or should you wait to marry that special prince charming? (Here's a hint, skip the frog, lol).

  • The truth is, if you ever become the "victim" of a life long, no cure - STD was the frog worth it? Or should you wait to marry that special prince charming? (Here's a hint, skip the frog, lol).

  • notice the abstinence only supporter is an old ugly bitch

  • yeah, that California has NEVER received this funding and now has the lowest pregnancy rate in the country might clue folk in.

  • He told her she could have the last word then when she finished he said he said something about it being a bad idea lol... He is a lowsy host. And this was a retarded interveiw.

  • Abstinence is like convincing a heroin addict that smoking is bad for you.

  • man i'm just happy i live in australia where abstinence doesn't exist at all. they just tell us to wear protection because it almost always work.

  • in the end i only see it as a scare tastic

  • This is my opinion on almost everything in schools; just teach both. Instead of arguing over teaching Creationism/Evolution or Abstinence/Safe Sex, just teach both and let the kids decide for themselves! I just sat through one of these last week, and I found that: 1. They claim that there will ALWAYS be negative consequences 2. They should at least mention condoms 3. Summed up "Aim for Success" basically taught me that the worst scenario will always happen (which won't).

  • telling teens to not have sex is like telling grown men and women not to have sex. good luck with that.

  • shes a lesbian....

  • the best part is when dan abrams and rachel maddow slammed the programs for not working and then had absolutely no idea whatsoever as to what a viable solution would be.

  • @VirtualBilly You mean like at 1:26 when Dan said that comprehensive sex education was a far more effective means of stopping teen pregnancy?

    What video did you watch?

  • I will believe that abstinence-only education isn't bribe money to the Christian congressmen when I see abstinence-only programs run by atheists, secular ngos, Hindis, Wiccans, etc. being funded. If there are no such non-Judeo-Christian programs, then we have a clear violation of the separation of church and state. We must demand to see the books of the agency disbursing these funds, and loudly object if there are only Judeo-Christian organizations receiving funds.

  • I would give the teens the sex education they need.

A sex education that explains the basic´s about STD´s, pregnancies (how you get pregnant and so forth) and about protections.

Then leave it to the teens to decide, if they want to have sex or not before they get married.

Don´t make them take a golden vow or some other crap because as research have shown it doesn´t work.

  • Up where I live in the north, they recommend abstinence, but barely mention condoms and other contraceptives. Kindof sucked during middle school, because no one knew anything about sex except that stds blow. So what happened. Half of my friends lose their virginities at 12 and I do not want to count the infections. Everyone has urges, and if we make the choice to act on them we should do it responsibly. If only our school could have taught us that, so many kids would have been saved. I was lucky

  • @fennecfox707 yes you are right , if people cant control themselves , then they should also look over the consequences that comes with it . I am not against sex before marriage , but people need to take care that they only stay with one partner only and get married . Too bad , nowadays there are very few who cares about the future and others concerned with it.

But however , abstinence has no bad effects and makes things very less complicated

  • As a teenager that is in the group that is being more directly targeted by abstinence talks I can say that if anything it encourages me to have sex as odd as it seems.

  • "recent study" hmmm by your own people ... that does not count honey, it is counted as propaganda.

  • Yeah. Let's NOT talk about sex education which means more women getting pregnant, more people getting STD's...more fucking bullshit. God damn this pisses me off.

  • I'd rather watch Dan Abrams at 3 p.m. , than Dylan Ratigan, any day of the week.

  • in here europe talking about sex is not such a tabu

  • You prudish antisexuals can take your abstinence bullshit & shove it up your asses!

There is nothing wrong with having sex outside marriage. If I had a girlfriend I would have sex with her & not give a fuck if we weren't married.

  • @SecularLibertarian outside of marriage means after too ?

  • @ajazaad no outside marriage means theyre not married.

  • I am actually a high school student who has in the past year taken a sex ed class, and I believe my school went about it in the best way possible. What was reinforced in my class is that abstinence is the BEST method, and the only foolproof way to prevent STDs and pregnancy. However, they weren't delusional enough to think that saying that would prevent every teenager from having sex, so we also went in depth on contraception and safe sex. I think it is the smartest way to go about it.

  • @smoothiemixer101

The problem with saying abstinence is the best way is that it's like saying the best way to avoid getting run over by a car is to never go outside.

  • @Xaanin

Abstinence is the only 100% method of avoiding STDs and uplanned pregnancies, so it can't really be argued that it's not the best method. And your examples are really not comparable at all, because while never going outside is a difficult thing to ask, abstinence is not something difficult to practice at all, especially if you only make the decision to be abstinent until college, or until you're out of college, and not necessarily until marriage.

  • @smoothiemixer101

The point wasn't the difficulty, it was that you chose to avoid something to mitigate a minimal risk associated with said activity. Change it to never exercising because you're afraid to get injured instead. It's entirely possible to avoid exercise, but it's obviously stupid to do so just because you're afraid of getting injured. Sure abstinence is great if you don't want to have sex, but it's crap if you actually want to have sex, and most people do want to have sex.

  • @Xaanin

That's the point of presenting abstinence as a good choice for a birth control method. Kids that are capable of self-restraint can abstain and kids that don't want to can have safe sex.

  • @smoothiemixer101 The problem here isn't abstinence education, it's abstinence only education. Telling a girl that not having sex is the best way to keep yourself from getting pregnant is telling them something they already know.

Telling any teenager that pinching the reservoir tip of a condom when putting it on reduces the chance of it breaking significantly is likely new information and could stop a few teen pregnancies.

  • I'm not profoundly intelligent, but I hit my head on my table. Why is this even a debate? How can the most powerful nation in the world be so stupid?

  • @HimmiJoe most powerfull nation in milatiry power or in brain power? ;) it whuld be most powerfull if you where aloved to fuck.

  • This is pure ANTI-CHOICE bullshit. If teens (or anyone for that matter) choose to have sex (for whatever reason) shouldn't they be provided with information so they can make informed decisions? And shouldn't that decision be respected as much as a decision to wait? Don't you want teens (and all people) to have sexual agency so that if they choose to wait it is a GENUINE choice and not the result of fear or total ignorance?

  • you live in a fantasy world. teen aged young adults will experiment with sex regardless of what you want to believe. if you are against contraception you are purposefully denying education children based on nothing but your belief that sex is morally wrong and you should be held responsible for every young woman who has an unwanted pregnancy.

  • @as26370 you dont have an STD epidemic if you use contraceptives genius. even if 98% of kids find abstinence successful - there's still the 2% that prove its not infallible. plus its a waste of tax payer dollars that could be used for something better like - OMG! - healthcare.

  • Dan Abrams is a bad interviewer. He is intimidating this lady, inturrupting and not respecting her views, he is not showing the least bit of courtesy. Time to watch Fox!

They might have scientific proof that it isn't stopping teens having sex, but there is no scientific proof that we have a global warming problem but look how much money is being put into that bunch of hooey.

  • Only in the USA! :P

  • Abstinence education "we need to have more of it instead of less... it needs to be continued and reinforced through their adolescent years". This sounds like social conditioning and the programming of children.

  • The reality is it is human nature to have sex. You CAN'T tell anyone NOT to have sex especially kids! They're going to do it because you tell them not to. What we need to be doing is educating EVERYONE on the dangers of sex and how to prevent STDs.

This woman is a f*ckin' idiot!!! I really think someone should kick her in the face!! Damn, it makes me so angry when people are so stupid!!

  • @shawnsbigtube Maybe someone should kick you in the face for promoting kids to have sex

  • @DoomKnight65 You don't need to promote kids in order for them to have sex. They do well enough on their own, trust me.

  • @DoomKnight65: Why don't YOU try it? I'm 6'0, 220 pounds, ex-military with martial arts training. I'd LOVE to get some aggression out!! Come try it! I'm in Portland, Oregon.

    Make my day, b*tch!!

  • @DoomKnight65: Oh, and you're the type of dumb*ss who, if you were in charge, would cause teen pregnancy to skyrocket with your narrow minded, primitive views. Just a hundred years ago and more, girls were getting married at 13-years-old! So it means that a 100 years later we have changed SO much that the thought of a child at puberty having sex is horrible? You primitve, ignorant, narrow minded neanderthal!! Please get hit by a truck tomorrow.

  • @DoomKnight65: And who said anything about promoting kids having sex, you c*nt?!? The FACT is you can't stop them from doing it! They'll find a way whether it's in school in some secluded area, out their parent's house before they get home from work, or somewhere else. The BEST thing to do is to educate them, so they can at least protect themselves from V.D. and pregnancy. It's amazing how England has a significantly lower teen pregnancy rate at their schools, which hand out condoms.

  • @DoomKnight65: Damn, people like you infuriate me with your ignorance! Hope you get run over by a train!!! Arrrggghhhh!!!

  • @DoomKnight65: Awww hell. You're only 22-years-old! You still have Similac on your breath, b*tch! You don't know crap about sh*t yet. Probably still at home suckin' on your momma's tit. When you become a man and actually get OUT of the house and into the world, THEN you may have something worth saying. Until then, shut the f*ck up, you toddler!!

  • I am so thankful that i am not surrounded by crazy evangelicals who live in their own fantasy world and honestly believe that abstinence fucking works.

  • It's freaking hilarious on how these who speak out against premarital sex, contraception and homosexuality usually end being found in foreign country's public bathroom stall having sex in with a man while they're wives are dealing with they're teenage pregnant daughter at home.

Don't tell me when and where I can't put my dick in and stop putting shame and fear on something that is perfectly natural and okay. Just tell us to wear a damn condom and us little virgin angels will be just fine.

  • @ginkiba3 Which is why you're prolly 21 years old and have 6 kids with 6 different women. Failure.

  • @DoomKnight65 17, not a virgin, fatherless, STD-free, and on my way to collage. Winner.

  • @DoomKnight65: And you know this girl's situation, you pompous b*stard? Shut the f*ck up and grow up, you dumb*ss!!

  • since when do teens make good decisions OR respect authority? they might as well teach us how to do it without killing ourselves! god lady, your pant suit's on too tight.

  • Daim...

The fact that it's christians advocating this is almost a joke too xD. What are they thinking? "If we scare them and tell them they'll basically die if they take the temptation, they'll NEVER do it!" Didn't they put Eve in a similar situation? I mean, some of those guys may believe the earth is only 6000 years old, but I believe even that should be an adequate amount of time to learn from ur mistakes...

  • Valerie Huber is a fucking idiot. She is basically saying "We need to pump more money into a program that doesn't work."

That doesn't make sense! That is like saying "I bought a car and it broke down so I took it back to the dealership for repair. It still didn't work so I took it back again for repair. It still didn't work so I took it back again for repair."

A smart person would say "Hey, moron, try taking it to a different place for repair."

If this isn't working, try a new approach

  • Where do you define abstinence? condoms, foreplay, or masturbation? abstinence is gonna cause beastiality, rape, and suicide to skyrocket.

  • I hope you're not implying that rapists don't masturbate.

  • Knowledge is power. Teenagers should be given this power, not only from their parents but also in schools, they should know as much as possible about sex. Meaning they should know WHY and HOW sex can influence their lives both in a negative and positive way. They need to learn about the responsibilities that come with having sex whether it is at 16 or 26. If a 16 yr old genuinely (!!) understood the risks of having sex, he/she would not have that much sex anyways and if so at least do it safe.

  • The same group of people lying to teens (and themselves) about the effectiveness of these silly programs. Are behind conditional aid to Africa. Give the starving in AIDS infested countries medicine and food if they abstain but withold condoms, the ONE thing that would stop the spread of the disease. All because of some deluded idea that sex is wrong and so are condoms. How can anybody support this type of thinking?

  • WEDGIE!!! 0:23

  • I am for abstinence all the way. That way you have absolutely nothing to worry about. No sexual disease or pregrancy. My choice is to stay abstinent until I am married.

  • See, I support this. If somebody makes this decision by themselves then i dont see whats wrong with it. I actually think our society is way too sex crazed as it is. However, I don't support the abstinence only program because to me it seems to present only one view of sex which of course i don't endorse.

  • Hi Psycropticunt, You make a very valid point here. Yes that is true it's up to the person if he or she decides to go abstinence or not. Yes our society is too sex crazed. I respect your views on this. Thanks for replying.

  • While i agree with you, you have to think about "that way you have nothing to worry about". For women, there are severe consequences for being raped and molested. You can't avoid everything.

  • Iamreptarhearmeroar, Yes that is true. There are sick perverts out there that would do that. You're right.

  • Abstinence IS important. One, it is to prevent diseases and unwanted preganancy and Secondly, it gives youth time to mature into beautiful young men and women. The issue isn't just the school who tries to provoke AO programs, but it is also the parents who don't teach and enforce their children the importance of abstinence. There are happy endings to abstinence.

  • Saying "use a condom" is NOT saying "have sex." It is saying "use a condom." People have sex, it is THE most basic instincts that we have. Telling people not to does not work against millions of years of evolution. Abstinence is obviously the best choice if it is followed, but most likely it won't be. So it is a good idea to give a second option when plan A inevitably fails.

  • I did not mention condoms and btw, condoms has nothing to do with abstinence. I am saying that teachers AND parents have to explain to their children WHY they have to stay abstinence. Obviously they will not follow it if they only say stay abstinence---they have to explain. yes,, you are right--there are people that won't do it if you tell them,,,but there are people that will.

  • of course we can trust kids with abstinence. after all, teenagers are known for making the very best long term decisions

  • the best decision for my sexual health is to slide my dick into a pussy. back and forth. explosion.

  • I like Maddow. He's one smart guy!

  • this shit don't work. I was finger banging at 12. you can't keep a man's hands off of tuna. good luck with that!

  • Wow, these people are so incredibly rude to valerie huber. holy freaking crap.

  • In america they call that 'unbiased journalism'

  • and whacha gonna do when you marry???

    no experience whatsoever....

and WTF, only 3/4 ppl get laid b4 they're 20

in Estonia its like ummm 99/100

  • Abstinence? LOL LOL LOL what a joke!!!

  • This guy is just as much of a jerk as O'Reilly.

I agree abstinence only programs are a waste of money, but it ain't a drop in the bucket compared to what's spent on global warming programs.

Just watch my youtube abstinence video. It makes abstinence look stylish simply for the sake of style, and it didn't cost any taxpayer money.

  • Thank God I live in Europe! And thank God I'm not religious! =)

  • Thats why Europe is a better place to live. Every puritan went over the ocean :D

  • Abstinence is practiced because of reason. Sex is practiced because of emotions. They are from two different worlds. Think about it, you may have all the proper knowledge about abstinence, but if you're with a lover in a private romantic resort - the chances that you're gonna have sex is much higher than 99%.

  • Contrasting with that, because there is no fear of social judgment for fooking generally and because being a pimp mack daddy isnt really criticized all that much, then the only reason for anyone to avoid mating is their own convictions or fearing to avoid the woman getting Prego.

  • People may wonder why multiple partners/premarital sex is common today and so rampant while several generations ago it was not. This is probably because it was socially unacceptable to fook your woman before marriage or engagement, the standard procedure of dating for a man to treat a woman well and vice versa, and women revealed less of their bodies.

  • There is another explanation: Several generations ago people lied their asses off when asked about premarital sex and/or multiple partners.

  • is probably going to do it unless their group of friends would be unaccepting of the act (which probably would only be if the group or the individual was extremely opposed to premarital sex).

  • It makes sense that abstinence only programs would have little affect on the general populations decision to remain abstinent. There are few things that can convince a teen (or anyone with hormones for that matter) to be abstinent. One of the things that influence people the most in todays society is of coarse: peers and how society perceives us. A teen who is tempted to follow their natural drive to mate with their significant other (or if theyre a big pimp mack daddy then many others)

  • hah, i am so glad i didn't have AO education. condoms are a good idea peeps!

  • hahaha, US children had been serving as white mouses by the republican party.

abstinence is a hypothesis and the result we get now is it is wrong, and might be harmful

  • abstinence works only when ppl abid to the rules.

just like why not all student taking AP class pass AP test, because passing the class would require them to study.

teaching abstinence only, is like only allowing AP class to all people, instead of telling them there are alternatives that might be better for some individuals, its doomed to be failed.

teaching requires the understanding of teen;s mind, dont expect them to simply be a slave and do/listen to all u say.

  • Relying on the woman alone for birth control puts the man at risk. Some women will lie about being on the pill and get pregnant, some women have STD's. Plus, it is unfair to make women solely responsible for birth control. Wearing condoms isn't fun - neither is getting a contraceptive shot every month or taking pill every day. Adults practice sex responsibly.

Plus, if you're getting laid, quit your bitching.

  • I have a better idea. Let's use the money to put ether back into all the science text books.

  • she sounds like a fucking robot hahaha shes just listing facts and sounding retarted

  • Hahaha... "Anything that disagrees with us is a lie. Its selective information. If kids don't have sex, they can't get pregnant, abstinance works."

Fuck off you stupid woman, thats why I want to deport all you fuckers to a little island and you can ask that fuck off of a bastard God for help.

  • all smiles and no information whatsoever...

  • So she's saying that we should keep brainwashing our kids to accept a theory that has been proven false. What is wrong with this woman?

  • "historic opponents of abstinence education..." does she mean every teenage boy on earth and many of the girls?
