Windows phone is for the new generation of tech users. Old timers that are still getting used to this new smartphone stuff, will obviously think "wtf? another one? this windows phone thing sucks, i like my android (or iphone) just fine"....... look guys, in all reality, Window Phone 7 is awesome and has a lot of potential, but the reality is that it's late in the game and has already been out-innovated by Apple and even Google's Android. So just sit tight, wait and watch. As for me im buyin one.
@TheGameReality don't use Andriod it will be my next phone OS. Got an iSheep which is better then GayBerries and WM7. But if WM7 iron out some flaws I will love it. I love it as a business platform though.

Also by using the tiles it's still very usable on different screen resolutions, thats a big issue for Android developers! . And I use social media such as Twitter too, It's very handy to keep my tech feeds instead of using 200+ rss feeds. Still it's made by Microsoft so yet again they are late in the game.

@ghamauricio What Microsoft did with Windows Phone 7 is revolve the home screen around a live feed of data. This can be text messages, phone calls, facebook notifications and emails.ect. Whereas Apple and Google revolved their home screens around shortcuts and static icons.
Windows 6.5 was such a let-down and disappointment for me. I feel, the only way to ever consider a WM7 is for the WM7 phone to be FREE. Then I would not feel so bad to have a buggy phone and no real useful Apps...
i love zune software. im really excited to see this come out. the fact that they are syncing so many things together like att uverse and the xbox is awesome. and i really like how everything is put into folders in stead of having to look through pages and pages of buttons to find one app.

@SymphonyStainedRed I have had the HTC Mozart version of the Windows Mobile 7 OS running on it. It has been a pleasure. Zune runs perfectly and is integrated into the phone very well. I love the pictures section on the phone as it is made to sync with all of your social networking sites and consolidate everything into just one page. You don't have to open multiple apps and windows just to show your friends the pictures you have taken over the years.....AWESOME PHONE!!!!!!
It replicates what the iphone can do with a more innovative and nice looking interface, however, it is still lacking in apps and other crucial technical aspects such as internet tethering...An alternative to the ios, but definitely not the better alternative!

Quit honestly it doesn't compare to iOS or Android but at least M$ is making an effort, after all the is only the first version of the device it would be good to see it improved. If have a good Internet browser (with flash support), 3rd party app market, and use the xbox live market to make games on the phones as well I think it will have a chance. Everything else looks promising except for somewhat lame looking home screen.

@youngswag803 The Kin OS is WinPhone7 based, minus full features. And it's by Microsoft, which is why it didn't do too well and eventually died out. Microsoft is lagging big time with their version of a breakthrough devices/features. As bad as it seems, Microsoft innovation is dead. All other OS (mainly Android) has set the standard too high for WP7 to catch up.
Wow, this is really a huge leap from the other Windows Mobile OS. It's nice that they 'quite' borrowed the interface from Windows Media Center in Windows 7.

@MrXaborus Symbian is outdated and poorly maintainable, while Meego will never catch up with iOS and Android. Nokia knows how to make good hardware. Microsoft knows how to make software (better than Nokia anyway). Furthermore, Nokia just swapped their CEO for a guy from Microsoft this week. Where does this all point to?

The UI is ugly shit! It's worse then iOS4. At least iOS4 let you manage the first screen!

I never....NEVER thought I'd say this.. Windows mobile 7 looks AMAZING. One small introduction: I love apple. I hate microsoft. I hate xbox. I love playstation. I am completely against microsoft for the way they thing of business, I've always thought they sell crap stuff. But hey....this time....oh my god the design looks STUNNING.

Think about it. they've tried to sue pretty much every single competitor in the phone and computer industry, they develop products so closed, so overhyped, so overpriced, so restricted, and market them as the best simply because they're apple. Their marketing strategies are obnoxious and anti-competitor (I'm a mac!), and you hate Microsoft's business tactics?

Microsoft has fallen very far behind and this is their best comeback? Not impressed! The doors of opportunity is closed. X-Box live is not going to win the OS over. Like Apples "iPod touch to iPhone", Microsoft is following their exact footsteps and turning the Zune into a phone. The Zunes UI, kernel, & layout FAILS BIG TIME, very likely, in the near future, so will WinMo 7. I was really looking forward to owning a Win7 phone but like WinMo 6,5,& 2003 SE etc, WinMo has let me down again. Fuck WM

If have a good Internet browser (with flash support), 3rd party app market, and use the xbox live market to make games on the phones as well I think it will have a chance. Everything else looks promising except for somewhat lame looking home screen.

@youngswag803 The Kin OS is WinPhone7 based, minus full features. And it's by Microsoft, which is why it didn't do too well and eventually died out. Microsoft is lagging big time with their version of a breakthrough devices/features. As bad as it seems, Microsoft innovation is dead. All other OS (mainly Android) has set the standard too high for WP7 to catch up.

Somebody needs to show Apple that user customization, social networking (Out of the box) , Bluetooth file transfer and expandable memory is very important in a mobile phone.
And those somebodies are Google (Android), Microsoft (Windows Phone 7), Samsung (Bada) and Nokia (MeeGo) (Symbian ^4)
Jailbroken iPhones does not count, as it is not the official iPhone OS.
I am a Mac user and I love Mac, but I hate the iPhone for lacking a lot of things that the Mac have. (Bluetooth file transfer)
