I'm not trying to be mean.. but this guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about... and if he's teaching, he's only going to breed more people that have no idea what they are talking about. This is what annoys the crap out of REAL teachers like me. we have to correct/re-teach our beginning students that pick up habits through videos like this. -_-

Why do a lot of drummers flip the stick around? Personally, I like to always play with the tip of the stick.

it tends to give a better sound, i dont do it unless i get the rare chance to pay timpany, wich i would usualy use a timpany mallet for but w/e, it also tends to put nicks in your drum, if you play had.

Yeah me too. Not too weird though, the tips were originally made for hitting the drum heads (for those who forgot xD).

If you flip the stick around you get a bit more swing when you hit a drum. The sound is also more fat, you can hear a big difference in sound when you try both sides on a ride cymbal.

But if you like the sound of the but end more, I think you just bought the wrong sticks xD I mean, seriously, there are enough sorts to choose from... even sticks with butt ends on both sides.
