My dad found this on dvd a few years ago after searching for ages. I was 3 when this came out. Aside from the cheesy 80s music, haircuts, and bad fashion, I thought it was quite good. Plus, Pippa Haywood is pretty fine!
@dctim That DVD of your dad's is pretty rare now, as it it is out of print. And yes Pippa Haywood is fine. Btw have you seen her in the "Brittas Empire" sit-com?
@MagnusVideos I havent seen Bittas, no. But I know what you mean about the DVD. HE had to search long and hard to find the one we have. One thing I never understood was why would anyone break up with Jenny and get together with Faye. Every time I saw her I wanted to punch her in the face!
Central ITV made a great job of this. Very clever programme. The shopping centre in programme one is still in Birmingham, near the old Central studios, and it makes me remember The One Game everytime I walk through it! Thanks for uploading.
Many thanks for uploading this. Caught it almost by accident long time ago, back when my local PBS station was in the happy habit of showing off-the-wall material late Sunday evenings.
This is one of the best series very. I had the pleasure of showing this in Dallas in the 80's to several PBS stations and the ratings where fantastic.
@MagnusVideos No the last time I saw The One Game was in 2000 I was promoting the show through my company Brit TV Entertainment with the APS for PBS Stations aroun the US. I was sent pictures and the complete show to create episides guides to sell the program. To me The One Game is still the best show of it's kind because it was ine of a kind.
Ive been trying to track down this show since i saw it one saturday night in the late 80s when i was about ten years old.The main problem is that i have always remembered the the title as 'the game' for some reason. The one episode i saw made a big impression on me at the time, enjoying watching more of it now!
I am really glad you are enjoying the show again. I was a 15 year role-player who had read the "Lord of the rings" at the time, and was intrigued as to how TV would handle gaming. It looks very 80's in parts(yuppies, huge computers etc), but I think people should enjoy it. Btw you can now show your mates the show you told them about all these years.
Um, sorry, that's my brother Pete (elwoodbluesx) who made that comment! He keeps forgetting he's on my account, I keep forgetting to log off you see! But still, I agree, it's nice of Pete to find stuff he used to enjoy!
