@TheMFan92 Yes, it is very easy to play. Starts on G, then it is a D/F with your thumb on the 6th string, second fret, then Em, the C or Cadd9. Both work. Enjoy.

@poopandfun Actually, if you watch his fingers, they go with the beat in several different way, even somtimes with the strumming of the guitars. Its a habit folks have to keep the beat. Have found myself doing it several times before without knowing. So in a sense it is a "twitch", but highly doubt after all his time on stages, MUCH bigger than this one, that he'd be nervous. But then again, I'm not Rob.

He may not sing in G in concert because he has to sing so many songs and it puts a strain on his voice(also - on tour = many shows in sequence) - so, conversely, it wouldn't be a big deal to sing it that way in a video.

he sings it live the same key as its recorded- the guitar player said it was in G because he was tuned in standard. for this song, they normally have another guitar to pick up that is tuned a half step down- in the key they recorded it

The acoustic version is actually a full step down tuned to DGCFAD... 2 frets down if you didn't understand that SecondFromEternity... Also its recorded in G on the original version of it

they are playing it the same way they always have, but they originally tuned it a half step down... play with the song and see.../ this time they are tuned to standard, that is why one of the guitars plays an F# at the beginning... it would be the same as playing a g with the guitar tuned half a step down.(this is how my band plays it) i am trying my best to describe what is happening- he is singing a half step higher than he normally does-pick up your guitar and you will see...

That "new" guitarist is actually Paul Doucette, the "original" drummer of matchbox.. he plays acoustic and keys for the band now since the last album... And he's Thomas' best friend and a gifted musician!!

Excuse me, Mr., but the key of this song, IS "G", exactly how they played it in this video.

BUT, since you have such perfect pitch, I want to point out the fact to you that Matchbox 20 (as they were called at the time, the numerals, not the word) recorded some of their songs tuned down a half-step. That would make the song in the "technical" key of Gb, or F#, whichever you prefer. The new guitarist is playing the song exactly how it was played on the original version, yet he is in A440 tuning.

I couldn't figure out how in the hell you could think I was playing it "wrong." I realize I replaced the last Emsus4 chord with a Csus4. It's a cover, so I put a LITTLE bit of my own spin on it.

Its not from drugs...You have obviously never been to a Rob Thomas concert, lol. That is his beautiful way of dancing.
