  • IS THIS ON DVD ? ...NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE !! ...I LOVE IT . GOT'STA LOVE LIZZY !

  • ugh dont like the keyboard

  • LOVE this song. This recording doesn't quite do justice to the amazing bass though!

  • lynott makina!!! burrul zepo

  • Cool bass.

  • 6 Dislikes. 6 people I for sure hate.

  • Love this song. There's a great version on the Life/Live album, the concert when all the former guitarists came back.

  • @jerryskid1 you like that one? I think it sound bit muffled/messy!

  • Where can i find this? Is this from a live dvd?

  • I just was turned on to this album after decades and love it!!

  • Brian Downey! is brilliant. he is a marathon heartbeat,

and Phil is the best Front man ever.

  • One of my Lizzy's favourite track ever. I had the chance to see the band live in Berlin in 81. Great souvenir.

  • Love this song.. saw Thin Lizzy in 82'

  • Long live the spirit of Phil Lynott.

  • He was the Best Ever!!!!Never Forgotten!Love and Miss Him!!!!

  • But he is a king!

  • Lizzy always into my heart......love this group

  • amen to lynott

shame the synths sound so out-dated today

  • Snowy white was'n t hard enough

  • what a song, i was fortunate to see them in the1982 Renegade tour when i was 15 years old here in Lisbon. thank you

  • 6 poor boys, just clowns

  • Thin Lizzy is hands down one of the greatest duel guitar bands of all times....I was fortunate enough to see them a few times in concert ......Amazing live.

  • people should check out renegade by warren zevon

  • ...And "It's getting dangerous" though i wish that song would take longer and more bass, more synth

  • too bad they quit too early, i'd love to hear more of these style of song writing in the "what if" next album, kind of like a long length of telling a story, bass/synth driven hard rock/heavy metal, similar to prog which is a good thing. Also, for darren wharton, guy is great. The last song i know that in the same style is the sun goes down on t&l

  • @thundertower bit hard with phil being dead n all.

  • @darknightcomingon he's dead? no fucking way...

  • great song

  • Even though Lizzy was on its way out by 1982, and some say they were getting dull and burnt out. This performance is truly stand out. Renegade is one of the most underrated albums.

  • I remenber this song is in my heart , thin lizzy was a great band, and phil lynott brilliant!

  • all these songs are so heartfelt. man I miss Phil!!!

  • I loved the Renegade album!

  • FUCKIN LOVE THIS TUNE RIP PHIL

  • "I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief." ~ Gerry Spence

  • I remember it as if it were yesterday ,I was there and was 17 years old ,,fantastic to have seen the best rock band of that time ,the concert started with Angel of Death and i didnt know what hit me,when the smoke bombs went off with the first chord ,,!!!!

  • this is one of the best vids on youtube

  • Great man, great artist, great song!

    Great everything!

    A legend!

  • Yes, you can tell Phil IS singing about himself for sure..and yet that makes it even more touching. Always one of my fave songs..and periods actually. I really loved Black Rose, Chinatown, and Renegade. Hard to believe he's been gone 25 yrs. Phil was the greatest. R.I.P. (and yes, the keyboards by darren wharton are pretty hard to take!)

  • Is this gig on dvd???

  • That keyboard really takes the bite away.

  • what can one say? just a good piece of muzak...

  • Best song off the best Lizzy album. Will never forget the day he died in '86. Two days before my birthday. R.I.P Phillo.

  • I love the song but it makes me really sad- you can tell Phil is talking about how he feels about himself- "A clown that everyone puts down", and "wonder why he cries on the inside". His mother has said people used to spit on her and Phil when he was young just because he was black. What a horrible thing to do! RIP Phil.

  • awsome!! great song !!

  • Wow! I didn't know there was any video footage of the band with Snowy White on guitar! Is there more of this concert floating around someplace?

  • I think that this version got a lot more of feeling in Phil's voice than the album version. Look how he smiles at some points. This song got some of my personal favorite Lynott lyrics, together with Do Anything You Want, With Love, Fight or Fall, Borderline, and I can go on forever with the list. Damn, Philip, why did you died?

  • this is a very underated song and album as well

  • Fantastic!!!

  • unforgotten phil

  • soooooo underated! renegade best lizzy album hands down!! so much feeling in these songs! wish it had radio play

  • Just Brilliant... Renegade best album lizzy did...ROCK on indeed... :)

  • Very good Phil

  • under my favourites category, Phil Lynott one of the coolest front men of all time, the stance, the ad libs too F'N cool. RIP Phil.

  • Thanks for posting this, 1 of my top 5 Lizzy songs!

  • 2:58-3:44 makes them the best band to ever play. And I've seen better performances from them just here on youtube

  • But he IS a king

  • I think that Renegade is a great album and I love the erlier stuff as well!

It´s pure class!!! Thank´s for posting!

  • wow, great. I saw TL in 1983 in Essen (Grugahalle) Germany

  • such a good song !

  • Thin Lizzy was and will always be one of the greatest bands. Phil Lynott is the king of spades forever and ever. Thanks alot for posting this great song. ROCK ON!!

  • Oh Pleeze....I'm on my begin' bended kneeessse! Oh pleeze, heed this call....He's just a boy that has lost his way....He's just a boy.....that'' all"

  • Just paid homage to your statue last weekend. Like you it's pure class. Thanks for sharing your magic. Always out here :-)) xxx

  • I'm a fan dedicated to the bone to Lizzy and I have listened to every album made by the warrior and his gangs and I'm sure when I say that "Renegade" is a great album and I'll never understand why people hammer on it so much . There are albums that are less LIZZY trademarked like "Shades .." and "Thunder & Lightning" . After all I guess people just go with the wave of opinions by lame critics and wannabe fans .

  • Zepplica911 "when I say that "Renegade" is a great album and I'll never understand why people hammer on it so much"

    ----------

Because only 'hollywood' and 'renegade' are any good. 'The pressure will blow' nearly is.

  • Thin Lizzy never did a bad album. The first one's before "Fighting" are different and underrated. The golden era "Fighting - Black Rose" is as good as it gets. The last touch with the 80's... Chinatown, Renegade and Thunder And Lightning are good stuff too! All albums isn't as good as their strongest but I enjoy them all for what they are: pure rock n' roll !

  • It's a matter of taste maybe, because i like the whole album! Please, people, stop saying RENEGADE isn't a good album. A great album with great sound production.

  • @LONELION17 I agree . crackin album one of their finest moments

  • @LONELION17 you are right , i love that album......all lizzy are the best albums in rock history..lizzy forever.... to Phil Paris Lynnot....my herooooooooo.

  • @osc68ful Thanx pal ! Cheers !!!

  • @LONELION17 this album is fukin badass

  • Renegade completely kills both chinatown and (in my opinion lizzy's worst album) -Thunder and lightning.

  • amazing.

  • i knew of lizzy from quite awhile ago but i've fully absorbed them over the last few years....definitley my favorite tune playing right now....cheers phil, i'll visit your statue one day for sure! you're the greatest!

  • Just because I post this on every Lizzy video. As a NY'er of Irish heritage, I do declare that Lizzy is the greatest band to ever come from the Emerald Isle. And yes, I have heard of U2.

  • of course they are maybe bono could tie phils shoelaces

  • He's just a boy that has lost his way, he's a rebel that has fallen down.

  • Long live THE EMERALD "Rosin' Dubh" land and its human production ...... Peace a LIZZY fan from Saudi Arabia ..

  • why can't I find a complete guitar tab for this??? :-(

anybody help.... great great great performance!!! the voice is so touching! thanks thanks :)

  • a música é muito bonita e com a letra bem forte

apesar disto a bateria esta com cara de hard core fuleiro

  • It almost makes me cry that we'll most likely never see such a great band again.

Not with all the crap singers these days.

  • Had the honour of seeing Lizzy on this tour in the Glasgow Appollo. Of Irish parents and love the Irish influence. Seen so many bands since and nothing has come close. Thank you Philo for being my hero and inspiration in life. Paid my respects to your statue and final resting place. God had a plan and I'll never understand it for you had so much more to do. Still Out Here xxxxxx

  • When people think "Irish Music", I wish that instead of westlife, the corrs or riverdance, that they'd think of THIN LIZZY!

Most criminally underrated and overlooked band ever. And I couldn't live without them!

  • Lizzy Rule! I'm 16 from Ireland and have been to the bronze statue and its amazing, these new rock bands like Artic Monkeys and The Killers are nothing compared to the oldschool rock (Maiden, ACDC, Metallica, GNR) They where the real bands. I inherited my dads LP collection and always have it on.

  • good on ya, im 46 and have listened to Lizzy from the start, they just get better and better with every listen, great musicians from Ireland, Rory Gallagher comes to mind.

  • @BroWnleE131 That's great! I hope to one day be able to visit the statue too! Phil is one of my all time musical heroes. What a great man he was.

  • Still Out Here!! Wish You Were Too xxx

  • Philo was the definitive Irish Rocker who halped launch Irish bands like U2 into the international scene. I was so pleased to see them erect a Bronze statue of the King where he used to busk in Dublin - my hometown. "You can always here the King call"

  • love lizzy Goin to see AC/DC tomorrow in the point will be payin phil a visit.

  • favorite song, and year i was born ;)

  • fuckin legend makes me cry thinking about old phillo

  • he had such a soul that could be heart rending, especially when he hit the high notes

  • Phil's songwriting WAS unmatched and his singing was terribly soulful. And what great players. This is a fantastic version of Renegade. The unfortunate thing is that the general public knows him by Jailbreak and The Boys are Back... which are okay - but nowhere near his best songs...

  • he made so many songs. The Boys was a great song don't get me wrong but there were others that were even better.

  • As well as albums that should of gotten them more attention like Fighting, Bad Reputation, Johnny the Fox, and my personal fave by them, Black Rose; A Rock Legend. Even Chinatown which I know some people did not like that much, which each listen it grows on you.

  • @carmassi4 man, totally agree, renegade is by FAR the best lizzy album, dont understand why it got no radio play, every track is a hit in my opinion

  • @carmassi4 Yes! I have all of their CDs and the CD that got me addicted to them was Renegade, Jailbreak was probably one of the last CDs I bought from them. The songs on there are great, it includes my favorite song "Running Back", but people miss the great, undiscovered songs that are hidden under the reviews of their best hits

  • this song is amazing :D

  • the keyborad sounds deadly in and this is the best live version of renegade ever lizzy will live forever x

  • Of all the amazing Lizzie songs I think this one touched me the most and i am transported back across the years when I hear it. Great video thanks.

I wonder why he cries on the inside

    RIP Philo

  • This song always brings me to tears.

Phil was one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. He is still loved and missed 22 years later.

  • Had the honour of seeing Lizzy on The Renegade tour in in The Glasgow Appollo, pure genius! I was only 15 and totally blown away, seen nothing to compare since and seen it all! Still Out Here AND Still In Love With You xxx

  • The keyboards sounds like a jukebox or something, lol. Nice performance.

  • upwith Lennon and McCarteney he's a million miles abovw them and their yellow submarines he is on the same planet as Bob Dylwn

  • What a turd burglar! Even if he taught Lynott some bass, he didn't teach him songwriting or singing while playing...those are skills from within. I love how people make those sort of claims in an attempt for a little piece of fame. Like uncleambient said: "Brush who?".

  • I Love It.

  • best song that scar's my body

  • putain mais qui peux me citer un groupe de rock francais quand tu mattes ça,

  • Brush who? F**k Him, Philo rules forever!!

  • One of the coolest drummers ever - Brian Downey...

  • This is an AMAZING live version of one of the Greatest Thin Lizzy platters ever made. I find that the song is better live than in the studio, I know that's a Lizzy trademark, But I think that THIS song sounds the best live. Out of ALL their songs.

  • THE BEST my friend

  • Simply amazing, one of the best songs ever...

  • absolutley classic. my favortite Lizzy ever.Soaring. "Please hear this call..."

  • The F***ING Best! thin lizzy forever.

  • I live on the same road in Dublin were Phil grew up as a kid hes a real Dubliner. The so-called Rock stars of today are nothing compared to him.

  • Unless they grew up on a road that someone else lives on. You just can never tell these days....

  • My Dad's from Crumlin also,I loved Philo, a true one-off, he makes me proud to be Irish :)

  • Realmente uma da maiores bandas de todos os tempos!!! Soberbo!!!

  • I miss my mom, my dad and phil.......in that order. all three bring tears of joy to my eyes quite often.....never missed a show!

  • ...man, i wish i´ve been there where you have been.........was 4 years old in 1982, did´t fit :)

Phil is the only male i would say i love !

    Greetz from germany.

  • Everytime i heard some Lizzy song,i really get emotional...

    I really miss Phil too!

  • philo is amazing on this.

  • Phil , i miss you ....

  • phil was the coolest ever period.

The guitarists are pretty rippin to.

  • genious!!!

  • I miss you, Phil...

  • The first time I heard Scott and Snowy come in together at about 02:31 on the record I nearly lost my mind, chills.

  • this is an amazing song, i wish there were more videos of them playing live, they're so hard to find!

  • It's strange, and a little annoying, that when people begin discussing this era and the music Darren Warton is always overlooked. I think adding him to the band was of the greatest moves Lizzy made with regards musicians.

  • Thin, I agree, reckon Darren brought something to Lizzy that was, at the time, not really accepted in a two guitar rock band - you only have to listen to the intro to Angel of Death to realise - Phil was brave to do that - Tho I read a few books where Phil made a lot of bad decisions !!!!!!. Respect your view. Take care

  • Saw Lizzy several times in liverpool.

    Thank you for the memories.

  • This performance gave me chills. Thin Lizzy and Rush are tied as the most underrated and underappreciated bands of all time.

  • totally agree dude!!

  • Unbelievable....Renegade is my favorite Lizzy album. Never got to see them (42 yrs old now), but thank god for technology. Excellent post, keep them coming!!

  • wheres time gone..42 soon, still love lizzy.Poxy kids dont realize lizzy harmonys were responsible for maiden etc..scotts playing was very country rock at times..anyone else notice this?I must dig this underated lp out & give it another spin!ta.

  • True because of thin lizzu we have iron maiden. The harmony is great invention. I love to use it alot

  • im 18 an i play bass an phill is the reason i picked one up!!

some off us young un's do now know talent when we hear it!! lol

  • mind blowing!!

  • gotta love this song!! gotta love this band!! these dorky kids today don't know what real rock is,and this is it!!!

  • My favourite lizzy song. Great Bass line. So simple, yet powerful.

  • this is one of my favourite Thin Lizzy songs with Emerald, Bad Reputation, Still In Love With You, Jailbreak & Southbound!

  • Saw them on the farewell tour at Bradford St Georges Hall back in 1983. God I'm old, but they were top.

  • Great!!!!

    Thin Lizzy is Forever

  • Great. Unbelievably, this song translates so fantastically live....every live version I have seen or heard is even better than the album version.

  • im also a renegade...thats true

  • awsome was lucky enough to see this tour in manchester at the appollo not been to a better gig since god bless ya phil

  • Musical perfection - Philomena...he was a legend

  • Jesus,Thanks soooo much for uploading these gems, been searching along time for some of this stuff, keep it cummin!

  • thanks a lot for this.Snowy white may not have been the ideal guitarist for lizzy but he co-wrote this song and that's good enough for me.Check it out

  • And did you poll every "person in the universe" on that...or is that just your opinion? Someone could hate the lyrics and like just the music...but that must have escaped your mind at the moment you replied to me. Sure someone could like it for a similar reason, but it's the experiences behind a person that make it slightly different for everyone. That's what I meant.

  • Man you rule for putting up all these great clips! I searching this site so long for something new! Right on man!

  • Love this song...it's like they are describing me. It's a great feeling when you can personally identify with a song.

  • "Love this song...it's like they are describing me. It's a great feeling when you can personally identify with a song."

Every single person in the universe who likes this song likes it for the same reason.
