  • WOOOT! I love grateful dead =]

  • disco or not this shit is groooovy!

  • OOPPSS I left out /not forget

  • It was on the radio nation wide, I still spin this. I will forget

  • I just want to dance when I hear this song =3.

  • I used think this was a video site.

  • lol... I used to think the grateful Dead were a metal band or something ^^

  • Disco Dead :) cool this song is fun, a little obscure and one of my favorite dead tunes.

  • Hahaha, the schwag, what a great band name...

  • One of the few Dead songs that's better in the studio than live. Awesome!

  • great song. Harrison, you're ridiculous.

  • youre so wrong. so much sicker live

  • amazing tune.. i love LOVE the leads jerry takes in this song

  • I saw a grateful Dead tribute band out in Kansas City, Mo . they were called " THe Shwag" dude they were so groovy. gets me in the mood to just relax and sip a cold one, by the way Russelljdj my first name is Russel too!

  • Cool Song. I remember playing this new as a young, wide eyed Scrubby Disc Jockey. Of course INXS would cop this riff in their hit "Need You Tonight"

  • Lovee this song!

  • Get on the Bus

  • I was the last of the generations.

btw fyi - phish sucks - not the dead man!

    I miss Jerry :(

  • phish is definitely not the dead sofa king.... but I don't think it's fair to say that they suck...right? I mean, it's a matter of opinion I guess.. but I think they have tons of talent. don't you?

    peace

  • Well it was my opinion that they suck - a lot of my friends love them even more than the dead - just commenting on a personal preference I suppose. I just never got into any of thier songs - although singing in a vacum cleaner is kind of cool and floating around on a huge hotdog sounds cool too. I think they are a good show to watch just cant get into thier material is all.

    I still miss Jerry! LOL

  • haha!! I hear ya man...I miss him too... believe me!

    take care

  • Phish does not suck!

  • Why do I feel like an angry mob of people in plad skirts are going to burn down my house for that comment.

Ok ....I give.... Phish does not suck.....

  • Funny I bet half the morons posting never went on tour.

    1989 - 1995

  • its the bees knees ;) maybe we had too much to think :)

  • It's a shame that I have to share this planet with ignorant, racist people like Brian Godard (six comments down). I try to defend everyone's right to their own viewpoint. I doubt this guy even has one to call his own.

  • What are you clowns talking about? Disco? This is straight ahead rock beat.

  • I agree this is not disco, you would know this if you knew what the song was about.

  • can't blame the dead for trying disco, who didn't at this time?

    Rolling Stones- Miss You

Rod Stewart-Do Ya Think I'm Sexy

Kiss-I Was Made For Loving You

    Grateful dead-Shakedown Street

    ELO-everything

  • This whole album is so awesome to dance to!!! Chicks always love it!!!! their cocaine phase is way better than their acid phase hahah!!!

  • maybe if you're into disco, but acid dead is the only dead, man

  • Acid isn't the only Dead, but it's the best. Live Dead is the epitome of music making.

  • Good point

  • You can find Shakedown Street in Manchester, TN around mid June every year

  • haha, bonnaroo

  • 1978 everything had a disco beat, including "Miss You" by the Stones.

  • Which trailer park do you live in?

  • fuck you you are below the level of the dead!! fuck right off! i feel sorry for you mother for giving birth to such a waste of space!

  • good stuff bro. real good stuff. good shakedown street. just gotta poke around shakedown street best stuff in town who knows where shakedown street is???????????????????????????????????????????????

  • Hey now, Funny you should ask Where Shakedown Street is. I've always heard that it is in San Rafael, California. If you look at the album cover, there are several landmarks which in my opinion confirms this. 1. Rafael theatre, 2. Front street, 3. Bermuda Palms, 4. Garage wharehouses, and 4. Country Club Bowl, AND, 5. one of their rehearsal studios back then was in San Rafael.

Notice how every single character on cover has nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile.

  • Awesome! I heard that before too. I know all those places You mentioned and remember all those great landmarks! :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • ooo maybe you had too much too fast, maybe you had too much too fast!

    woo!

  • oh my god i haven't heard this song in years! thanks for the post!

  • i love this song... but the studio albums are not that great.... Grateful Dead is a liveband, they're just amazing on stage

  • I'm gonna be honest, I always found this song quite irritating with the synthesizers, etc. I prefer their early stuff much more.

  • yo dude i know what youre talking about i felt that way until i heard the voice and it was good

  • perfect picture for a perfect albume for a perfect song, for a perfect video for us to watch on youtube

  • This song is amazing live! Ive cn the Dead doit couple years ago Ive cn phil do 2x and ihave a live ratdog version oncd

  • I love this album cover!they always had really cool album covers.

  • just got walk around!

  • This was my disco era treasure.. another song on this album was my favorite,, can't remember it at the moment.. listened to it 100's or 1000's of thimes,, probably both- 100's and 1000's. I loveit!!!

  • Like but I don't love this song because it is like disco Gratefull dead. This unfortually was a path a lot grate musicians had to take in the late 70's.

  • love this song, one of their best

really love that album cover too

  • Believe the cover of this albumm is by Robert Crumb. Everyone on it is grinning like there's no tommorrow....

  • Love this song...favorited! :-)
