Congress has already been shown over 3,000 images in order to "prove" how effective these scanners are. If the machines don't store images, then how did Congress view them? On my last vacation to the Dominican Republic, which I travel to several times a year, I went through two different body scanners. I figure if it speeds up the process of getting through security then fine by me. So what if some weirdo gets to see under my cloths, big deal, they don't see anything but a fuzzy image anyway, I am for any thing that will make our traveling safer. Depending on mfg 50-125Kvp x-rays are used same as dental or CT-scanner energy. Dear @KASHIV12 its not just privacy, people have real health concerns. A significant % of the population is sensitive to radiation are more prone to cancer. Young children and expecting mothers SHOULD not be x-rayed for non-medical reasons. @bravecat100 that is right... because they are not going to store them to begin with. those images are going to be measured in gigabytes and were this to be the standard they would be producing hundreds of thousands of images per day... this means that the TSA would have to spend tens of thousands of dollars per day just to store the images... they are out to help themselves at all costs, not screw you at all costs. in this case screwing you does not help them.

@TAPriceCTR It has already been reported by numerous sources that these scanners DO in fact store the images taken. Congress has already been shown over 3,000 images in order to "prove" how effective these scanners are. If the machines don't store images, then how did Congress view them? The devices attached to each machine has the capability of storing over 40,000 images.

@Dakarn because when demonstraiting the tech you have to have samples to demonstrait. however if you want to store lots of images you have to change them to 2D. Before a child experiences the groping, a parent can simply tell them that it's alright for someone from the government to touch them there, and it won't be a big deal. Then if the child has to travel often, they'll get used to people from the government touching them there - so if someone wants to touch their crotch in the future, then as long as they work for the government, the child will be fine with it and let them touch.
