  • And even though they went that fast it is simply waaayy to slow for Space travel :)

  • @RockSlaveBH Yes. Yes it is.

  • this is very worthy of the human race. why we are so slow? we need expeditions outer space like in the all times the ships of the dutch. come on we have to progress in these matters, forget about religion, arrogance, dogma please, see the reality, stop being a bunch of lemmings, populace. get your brains together and listen go to school learn astronomy , physics, science etc. be worthy of your life stop following stupid angry humans that just want war... listen Eno's master piece perfekt...

  • when the astronaut is outside of the ship, why do his motions seem so jerky and strange and sped up, it looks alot like a stop-motion model the way everythings moving or like the film speed is warped. its a strange effect.

  • @jaikwillis it's the camera outside the Gemini spacecraft, the camera takes lesser frames per second than a normal videocamera would take and that causes the jerking movement of, in this case, Ed White.

  • 5:29 - Isn't this EVA from Gemini?

  • to this day it blows my mind that we could actually succeed in this kind of mission. the amount of things that could have gone wrong...these were very dedicated and very brave people, it speaks volumes about human potential.

  • @dson144 I watched this program with amazement as a kid and it amazes me even today watching this video and audio. It saddens me though, when I see these guys today as much older men and I wonder why the momentum of Apollo was not maintained and we seemed to stop exploring. All that potential and suddenly the brakes were put on. If we had kept going?...............who knows.

  • 35000ft a second! Great movie!

  • 25,000 mph and the dude lost a glove! A brilliant film.

  • I have this on tape from 1992 (it was on National Geographic Explorer) and "Drift" was used, so it's not some arbitrary dvd change.

  • Some of the music in this part isn't the same as it is on my dvd of this movie. I can't imagine why it would be changed. For the EVA it should be Brian Eno's "Drift".

  • shit... that... um... he was outside the shuttle... high up... shit...

  • 6000 ft a Second! MY GOD ! Just stop what your doin rite now & think about that? Fuk

  • @TheApolloChannel thats nothing. the voyager space probe is moving at 17,000 METERS a second... stop and think about THAT! lol

  • @TheApolloChannel TECO (tertiary engine cutoff) at ~ 26,000 ft a second.
