  • Awesome video! I've been around farms my entire life. If you don't mind me asking, how many acres do you farm?

  • das ist so ein geiles video ich habs schon 10 geschen

  • how many acers farm?

  • nice vid but i think that you could easly use a 8 row head a 6 row is to small of a head for that combine it can take more then that you would be going so fast with a 6row head.

  • @Dutchman931 ..Thanks for viewing...this is a custom operator. I use a six row kinze planter for corn, so Weaver's run their six row head for me. They also have a 12 row corn head for the green beast when needed! They run the 30 foot grain head when harvesting our soybeans and wheat.

  • Nice vid. But I bet you hate those 250 bu gravity wagons!! I know I sure hated ours with a passion!!

  • @Plowboy68 Thanks for viewing...yeah I agree...we use two 250's, two 275's & two 350's. Like your pullin vid's...we have family farming near Iowa Falls.

  • great vid 5/5!

what sort of yeild did u get?

how good was the corn?(dry, wet)

  • @MDACRJDC G'Day Mate...the corn averaged around 200 bu. per acer or 5.6 US tons per acer. The harvest moisture was 20%...then we dry the grain down to under 15% for storage. I traveled through NSW & Queensland in 2008...saw some massive farm operations! Thanks for viewing!

  • @ohiofarmer27 thanks mate

finally someone who actually gives great information on corn!

i look forward to ur next vids!

  • Folks, this is great. I grew up right across the highway from a gigantic corn field back in Indiana and all this footage reminds me of bein a little boy. I remember even the smells and the way the field crunched under my feet in fall after the harvest (thanks to the kind farmer who didn't mind me walkin around in his field).

  • @Samolyet Thanks for viewing & comment!

  • looks like 4 row planter am i right?

  • Thanks for viewing...We use a six row 3500 Kinze planter.

  • six row? looked from here like a 4 row but you would now haha how you like the kinze 6 row i heard they were nice we have a 6 row 7000 jd it ok but might get an eight row

  • We looked at the JD & CaseIH, but purchased the Kinze new in 2001...very heavy frame that helps to hold excellent seed depth especially in no-till situations. It's the first spring loaded finger pickup seed delivery system we have owned. We disassemble the seed units after each season, clean, inspect and oil coat the metal components. So far after nine years of operation the seed units are still placing the correct seed per acre! I can understand why the larger planters contain a vacuum system.

  • ya see kinze would be awesome to get but the see we planted about 3000 acres of corn and if i were to buy a new planter it would at least be a 8 if not bigger but yet i have 2 combines r 62 an 9500 i use my brothers combines alot too because the r 62 so far was terrible this fall so i used his 9650 but i want a 9770 9760 or 9650 i want somthing bigger than 9500 and i dont know about the r 62

  • You guys work hard...that's alot of hours planting 3000 acers of corn with a six row 7000 JD! Good luck, the price of corn does not look good for 2010 & 2011...so sharpen the pencil & pray for rain!

  • ya i know we busted our butts haha well we are gettin rain as i speak lots of it there sayin we wont be able to get on ground till mayish we start around april how many tractors you have?

  • We have three IH tractors and sold two IH combines...now we use custom harvestor. The rain started this morning when we were loading buffalo. I just uploaded the video from yesterday's load.

  • we have jd 4850 4650 8870 8100 8220 9500 combine r 62

  • That is an excellent line up!

  • What kind of camera did you use? Nice zoom. How were the yeilds?

  • Thanks for watching! The camera is the new Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1 with 20x lense. I purchased the camera in June 2009...not very skilled yet! I have been 100% Pioneer for over 30 years. My grandfather also planted Pioneer. This is an original 1815 homestead by our family...owned by the sixth & seventh generations. Harvesting 34M78 at 18% moisture at 200+ bu per acre...our second best harvest...planted at 32,000 population. Thanks again!

  • Maybe it's just the custom harvester in me...but why run a six row on a 9760?

  • Thanks for watching..Good question!...I use a 3500 Kinze six row corn planter...and in our area the farmers are mostly 6 or 12 row planters. The farms are close together and Roy maybe at three to four different farms per day filling dryers and semis. Weaver's can accommodate either size, but their main focus in a large dairy operation and three Class harvesters...not sure why they went from 9600 size to 9760...maybe the grain head for soybeans and wheat. Hope this answers your question!

  • Nice Vid! haha he forgot to turn his flashers off!!! I have done this many times myself, and its still funny!!
