  • reminds me so much of ray or stevie

  • Good to know there's still some genuine soul music that doesn't involve rapping or sampling or talking about killing people or whatever other cliches lol...this guy is the bomb!

  • This is so much better than the album version :D

  • This is that old school R&B in the 21st century.

  • I'm falling in love with man.

  • Those 11dislike ran 100 yard dash into a brickwall...

  • you're nuts. great song, great video.

  • Epic I love I love this beat!

  • Epic song, epic clip :)

  • Were on first pat of the wonderfull Leny Kravitz show in Paris Bercy yesterday and they have been great !!!!!!!!!!

    love them !

  • Reminds me of 60's Stevie Wonder. I remember when this came out It was very refreshing to hear actual music lol. He's got many years left for sure.

  • @jimmybrown11111 I know right. I love Raphael Saadiq I been a fan since he came out. The man is amazing.

  • great show in Zagreb, Croatia:) it was so beautiful, i fall in love:)

  • This dude reminds me of someone in The Temptations.

  • this is pure soul music, the way it used to be and should be..wow, i can't get enough of this!

  • I guess i now know what the term "over produced" means. I love the song but now that I have seen the video I am disappointed.

  • MY GOD I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Guys, for clarity, this is not Jazz. Rapha is considered as a launcher of the Nu Soul. From his first projects till now. The whole album The Way I See It is aswell considered as Nu Soul, and Nu Soul is a movement resulted from R&B and Soul with additions of Jazz. I hope it might be clear now for you guys.

  • white guy moves yeahhhh

  • Love white suited man moves :P

  • This dude is so underrated and that's an under statment

  • VANAVOND!

  • Why is the album version so short? The longer version is much better!

  • I hope music is all about cycles as some say and we can eventually come back to this. That dance crap rnb has become really sounds like shit, is like literally, they sold their 'soul'

  • @LProds Yeah I can definitely see the masses getting sick of the dance music...much like the hair bands of the 80s ha. It just becomes too much and people need something more simpler.

  • wow... sweet.

  • i saw him tonight!!

  • This dude is 45? I would honestly have guessed him to be around 25 years old.

Not that it matters, soul is timeless. I'm just glad that this dude has some mainstream success, I hope this takes over the R&B we have on the radio nowadays.

  • @ArowanaVV HAha yeah, my bro asked me how old does he look i guess like 22 lol but truth be told the majority of black people age well..its the truth!

  • I could watch this stuff all day.....and dance to it. sigh.

  • Style. Wit. Great Beat. Better than an ice cold martini at the Playboy Club.

  • J'adore !!!!!

  • CLICK ON: disccentury, MY MUSIC, NEVER SEEN

  • Funky!

  • Oh, I love this kid and his smart band.

Soul music, like I grew up with in the 60s and the 70s. My kind of sound, coming out of its long hibernation.

  • @gorgonique Kid? Saadiq is 45 years old. But I have to admit he does look a lot younger.

  • @Clitfarmer 45?!! That guy's got some genes most of us would kill for.

  • @Clitfarmer ...that's why he's related to Babyface. Really!

    PEACE

  • Get it bassist! Get it!

  • total throwback...LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

  • Yes suh!

  • musical genius

  • Oh man my friend just showed me this over facebook. I never would have listened to this kind of music before, not sure why. But this is effing great. xD Funny how the same friend showed me another music video just the other day, same thing again, music I never thought I would have liked, but ended up loving. :P

  • @OzJenj88....It's called Soul Music, nothing new. Glad you like it.

  • This song introduced me to Raphael Saadiq. The music of the future. This is it.

  • My God Rapahel is one talented mutha...I haven't heard one bad song yet. Jeez man you killin us but in a good way!

  • Shame the LP version is so much shorter than this excellent video version!

  • Love this dude, so retro

  • Awesome music, awesome video, can't ask for more... Except for more songs like this of course!

  • Why does the vixen look like Michelle Obama??...Great video #OldSchool

  • The songs that I'm dancing to on my channel are not about anyone's favorite or what's popular ...they are only about what I was in the mood to dance to.. songs that I like.. so just enjoy!

  • one word: SICK!

  • Some of thesa are in DUTCH!! What'shappening ;-) Maybe I am in The Netherlands??

Raphael rocks. Did not know the guy, but he is good.

  • I always appreciated Raphael Saadiq...Yes!

  • God, I hate all these ads on YouTube that play before the videos. I realize that they have to pay the bills, but COME ON. I've also noticed that some of the ads are in Spanish. What the fuck's up with THAT?

  • @corinnewasser

    come on,

    world speaks english

    y tambien espa^nol

    e a~inda português, .... etc

    waaaake up U

  • Knew he had talent when he was with Tony Toni Tone.

  • Is it me...or does the "vixen" looks like Michelle's Obama hot younger sister???

  • This Dude right here is off the chain! He needs to collaborate with Janelle Monae. That will be Awesome!

  • Nice

  • I never heard of this artist until recently . I like the sound , kinda reminds me of 60's Motown . No question that this is a very talented performer .

  • i cant find daydreams!!

  • This is what R&B should sound like :)

  • @100Soulpower You mean neo-soul

  • @100Soulpower this is jazz.

  • @100Soulpower too bad its not really RnB its more jazz

  • @skbuck418 Are you crazy, how can this be jazz? it has a driving Rhythm and Blues bass-line

  • @buzzboy67 Jazz is all abt Rhythm and the melody is jazz... i think you have a miss-perception of Jazz

  • love this song!!

  • zaistnie zajebiste :D

  • This is the first new artist I've heard in over a decade that seems to have a clue on how to write a good song. Some of his songs deserve better lyrics though. But overall I'm impressed. It's been a long time since a new artist caught my attention.

  • @eliassailor he's not a new artist by far He's been out since the early 90 with a group called TONI TONY TONI, and he was also a part of a group that was made up of Dawn Robinson from Envogue, and the DJ from another group called a Tribe Call Quest. He's had a few solo cd before this.

  • @dabodyrobinson Yeah I figured that out the other day. I remember his old group. Wasn't a big fan. But I do like his new stuff. He looks so damn young I just assumed he was new.

  • There is nothing about this I don't like.

Sometimes, just sometimes, things hit the mainstream because they're good. You know, like Bob Dylan and stuff.

  • Make that 8 people that like mainstream shit. Raphael is the only artist I've heard in years that creates music with real soul.

  • i 2 have tickets to see Raphael Saadiq & Bluey Robinson @ the itunes festival in london on the 17th of july if anyones intrested inbox me cheers

  • 8 personnes ont raté leur vie.

  • I like the pre Vevo count. Hey Vevo, I found this without you. In fact, if you're so goddamn great, why is every video to the right by Jeniifer Hudson? And who the hell is Jennifer Hudson, anyway? (sorry, I'm not hip).

  • this version is not in I tunes T.T

  • who is the bass player in this video?

  • good man

  • raphael..oh raphael.your a godd man :)

  • Oh I'm in love with you Vixen ;)

  • Delivers the goods

  • Nice to finally see a revival of good music lately, i hope it keeps up!

  • Ahhhh, MUSIC, I found you. I was wondering where you ran off to..

  • I love how the video doesn't overshadow the music

  • tony toni tone

  • Wait, is this someone in the music business with actual talent?

  • I love this guy's music. Old school with a twist. Raphael Saadiq looks sort of like Kobe Bryant with glasses!

  • 7 people didn't even place

  • daaaaammmn i like his stuff!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anybody who dislikes raphael saadiq can head but a unicorn!!!

  • @mrabram05 or play leap frog with one

  • @mrabram05 LOL!!! Never quite heard ANYTHING like that, but I concur!! LOL!!!

  • Awesome fucking song!

  • this is better than that bruno mars kid.

  • @93Bigbrown Bruno WHO??? Raphael Saadiq makes Bruno look like a fucking chump!

  • @corinnewasser agreed man. this guys is legit!

  • @93Bigbrown Raphael Saadiq's voice makes current popular male singers, such as Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, and yes, Bruno Mars, sound like crapulous amateurs. Actually, Saadiq has a song {Stone Rollin'} on VH1's list of Top 20 videos, which surprises the shit outta me, cuz most of their listeners have such terrible taste in music. This guy's backup band is totally fucking awesome, too! To me, his music resembles that of one of my faves, Marvin Gaye. Fabulous talent!

  • Coolness

  • cheers to the vixen... gotta get me one of em

  • really really good

  • Comment removed

  • "Here come those legs/Here come those eyes"-how could anyone DISlike this?

  • I don't care for 60's but this guy i like hmmmm ;)))))

  • thank you dallas green for picking this song on x92.9fm! such a great song.

  • This is what real talent sounds like.

  • does anyone have a guitar tutorial for this song?!

  • so proud to be able to call him my cus be we had to move to horrible philadelphia

  • It sounds great! I wish it wasn't a rip-off of "Goin' to the Go-Go" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, because I want pop music to go in this direction.

  • I hope Raph never changes man.....LOVE IT

  • absoulutely adore this song

  • absoulutely adore this song

  • my favorite song on this album...the video is Fire though, damn!!

Im loving the new album Stone Rollin - masterpiece.

  • this album is way better than stone rollin. They're both dope though

  • @KillenEMsoftly ouch man. was that really necessary? go listen to some ke$ha and get your auto tune fill. dont hate.

  • bomb shit for real

  • What does everyone think of "Stone Rollin?" I just came across it on NPRs first listen, and fell in love. His voice is beautiful!!

  • @sydneyandersonband i love it Syd...i just downloaded it from amazon and im gonna shuffle it with some other hot joints and just stay in bliss with real music.

  • that song make me go back to the 1970's & 80's

    damn he is so good.

    1970's &80's is back to 2011.

  • the vixen kinda look like machael Oba but finer

  • 4 people like mainstream shit

  • @ReviewswithJake1 Rapael Saadiq is pretty mainstream. But honestly, who even gives a shit anymore. That word is practically meaningless at this point.

  • @ReviewswithJake1 make that 8 ..

  • @ReviewswithJake1 i catogrise this as being mainstream shite and trust me i know what i am talking about. i benchmark a song against Greg Perry=Come on Down and Heatwave -Star of a story. listen to both and then tell me if you still think this is better. no way is it better. i could write a better piece of music than this within a day.

  • @ReviewswithJake1 oh hey what up hipster

  • @ReviewswithJake1 you know that raphael saadiq is not that offstream dont you?

  • @stopthat2786 I do. But radio stations tend to play music that isn't really considered music. I rarely ever hear of Saadiq on the radio

  • reminds me of madcon - beggin

  • Love this kind of music! Its like a breath of fresh air! Even the female protagonist here has more class then your average "video vixen"!

  • f vevo

  • Ah this is the kind of music I want to hear more of!! :)

  • AMAZING SONG!! EPIC!!! <3

  • David Ruffin reborn. Its music like this that makes me believe again. Music will endure as long as people REMEMBER what it means to dream it.

  • Wow now this what R&B ought to sound like,

  • how the fuck am i just hearing this now? i must be living under a rock.

  • Is this the stuff that's being played on the radio now? Looks like I need to start listening more often.

  • Sorry, but I just don't understand what's so great about his music. We've all heard this sound before, and there's nothing profound or moving about his lyrics.

  • @wuwei87 I see where you're coming from, but the guy never set out to do something that no artist had ever done before. His style purposely pays homage to a past era and lots of people missed that.

  • @wuwei87 If that's true, there's nothing profound or moving about most other artists of today's R&B either. We've been bombarded by all these over produced, over sampled preselected hip hop/ R&B acts that when someone comes along with something like this we love it. Even if it is a throwback to a long gone era. It's like we've been feeding on junk food for the longest, and then here comes Raphael with this home cooked meal handed down from grandma's recipes and everybody's at the table. Yum!

  • what, no autotune>?

  • If I had to listen to 1 song for the rest of my life, this would be it!.

  • I dont like his new stuff.

  • Cute drummer! Great music!

  • This track is a Motown time-machine... This is the real-deal R&B... This. Is. BRILLIANT!!

  • can any one say he dont make u think of david ruffin

  • Esse é o cara!!!!

Admiro muiiito o soul que ele produz!

    Raphael Saadiq....

    Brotha.

  • Ahhh That refreshing sound of proper music :)

  • 4 ppl can't run the 100 yard dash.

  • Y cant ppl just NJOY the music from this Very talented man instead of going on bout crapp, it may be true that black ppl age better than white, but to be honest who gives a shit , ur on here listening to some great music just njoy!!!!!!

  • Its funny. Likes to dislikes is 0.003857280617% LOL

  • black people age better than white people

  • @elvinbloodgod colour makes no difference, goon. Its how you treat yourself that makes you 'age better'

  • @JDOfficialSound it was more of a statement than a question so y dont u fuck off and leave me alone

  • @elvinbloodgod and my reply was a statement, i have a right to comment - thats' the beauty of youtube's vibrant community: we each have opinions and i was simply stating mine. However your statement was irrevilant and could too some be seen as racist and un-tasteful. every human is the same (bioligy wise), regardless of colour!

  • He made wonders to Kelis' voice on Glow.

  • he's the kind of artist i wish never goes too mainstream...like having his music all to myself...so good makes it hard to share. only a few things i can say that about...my sweet friend mary jane be one those

  • Just saw him kill it on the Coachella live feed, so dope! Excess amounts of soul flowin through this guys veins...
