can i ask you and advice? i usually play with a plectrum in my right hand and i only use from the middle finger to the pinkie to pick other strings when i need. Is it a good method? because i didn't see many people play like this. I have alwas seen a division between guitarist who play everything with plectrum or without it.

@MetalloDevasto I do the same, I usually use my middle, ring, and pinky fingers as needed and still use a pick. Although Knopfler doesn't use a pick when he plays this, there is a video on here that shows that it can be done! Just look up craigrose007 and he has a Sultans of Swing video and uses a pick. It's actually not all that difficult with the pick...

Beautiful. I wish I had fingers like yours instead of the stumpy little sausage fingers I have. Can I ask how long it takes you to learn a song like this to the point where you can play it right through like that?

@gorby9POD Hey thanks for watching. It really depends on the songs. This particular song has so many little fills that it can take some time to memorize it all and get the sound of it in your fingers so you don't really have to think about it while playing. It isn't a very hard song to play, just long and has a lot of little fills all over the place.
